Using the medicine ball, stability ball, and fitball, participants will train the abdominals, low back, and hips using balance, core stability, linked system strength, endurance and rotary power training exercises. Each session is 45 minutes. Eagle landing junior volleyball A traveling club team for ages 12-17. This club competes with local and regional teams as part of the Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association USA volleyball. Team fees and practice times determined by team size. Team practices are in the Gymnasium, Mondays and Fridays from 7:30 pm - 9 pm. NEW CLASS!!! STRETCH AND STRENGTHEN Wednesdays, 10 am - 10:30 am Athletic Center Complimentary. Develop flexibility in your poor overused muscles from Tennis & Golf. We focus on muscle groups which are used most frequently in our daily activities. By learning to stretch the correct areas in the right fashion, we work on strengthening the body and prevent injuries. This is a low level, low impact class perfect for everyone. GOLF & TENNIS FUNCTIONAL FITNESS Wednesdays, 9 am & 7 pm Friday, 10 am Gymnasium Get some exercise to improve flexibility, strength, and balance to benefit all your range of motions. We stretch, use body weight movements, and the occasional medicine ball to perform exercises which may not only improve your form but keep you feeling on top of your game. BOOT CAMP FRIDAYS Fridays, 11 am Let s get those New Year s Resolutions started right. Want to get some serious calorie burning - sweat pouring work done? Join this class for some quick cardio, plyometric exercise and a kicking good time. We work hard Fridays so we can have some guilt-free time on the weekends. MARCH MADNESS Tuesday 3/11, 3/18, 3/25 and Thursday 3/27 Times TBA, Gymnasium, Ages 16 & up Get your team together and come down to challenge the rest of the neighborhood. Small court 3 on 3 action (5 man teams to allow for subs) are set up tournament style. Teams play games each week culminating in a championship match the week before the NCAA finals. Class involves involve 31.5 hours of training in CPR, First Aid, and water rescue techniques which prepares you for a rewarding and fun summer job. Latest News from the Golf Shop!! BEGINNER GOLF CHALLENGE March 15th kicks off the Beginner Golf Challenge. Once a month we will conduct a complimentary clinic for all beginner golfers (Members/Residents) who have little or no experience. We will run this program for 6 months and have a challenge with another club of beginners to get the golf bug into your system. If you have always wanted to golf and needed a reason - here is your chance! Use this beginner challenge to get yourself on the links. Contact the golf shop to sign up at 291-5600. We will take the first 12 players to sign up and need your once-a-month commitment to take this challenge. REINHOLD CLAY COUNTY CLASSIC April 4th - April 6th The 17th Annual Reinhold Clay County Golf Classic will be held on April 4th - 6th, 2008 at Eagle Harbor Golf Club, Magnolia Point Country Club & Eagle Landing. The tournament is open to all Northeast Florida golfers at least 18 years of age with an established USGA handicap. Senior entrants must be 55 years of age by April 4, 2008.
