MOVING BETWEEN THE LEVELS In theory, there is no limit as to how many levels a gymnast may move up. But she should only move up if she has achieved a reasonable score at the level she is at. When a Gymnast enters this structure, at a suitable Level, she may never move back a level - i.e. if a Gymnast enters Level 4 in the All-Around Championships, she must continue to compete at Level 4 or higher in the All-Around Championships (subject to the rules below). Only Gymnasts that have never competed in the past can compete in Level 1A In Level 1A, 1B & 1C o A Gymnast may only ever compete at Level 1A for one year and therefore must move up a Level the following year. o In Level 1B & 1C all Medal winners at National Finals must move up a Level the following year (i.e. all members of a medal winning Team must move up a level the following year). Gymnasts who have competed in Level 2 previously may not enter the 2A competition, however, they may enter Level 2B & 2C. In Level s 2-5 National All-Around Championships:- o All Medal winners at National Finals must move up a Level the following year. If your gymnast is an Apparatus Specialist she could end up in a higher Level in the Individual Apparatus Championships in 15

comparison with the All-Around Championships. However, the Level at which a gymnast competes at in Apparatus Championship must be equal to, or higher than the Level she competes in, in the All-Around i.e. a gymnast cannot do Level 4 in the All-Around Competition and then do Level 3 in the Apparatus after. However, if a gymnast competes on all 4 apparatus in the Apparatus competition, she must then compete in at least the same Level in the All-around the following year. LEVELS 6 9 As above except; A Gymnast who has medalled two years in a row on an Apparatus MUST move up to the next Level the following year or not compete that particular apparatus if they wish to stay at that level on the other apparatus. 3 PLUS - 9 PLUS All National Squad members MUST compete in the Plus Levels Pathway and NOT in the General Levels. Gymnasts must have received an average score of 10.00pts on each apparatus to move up a level. (i.e.; For 5 apparatus the allaround score should be 50.00 or higher). For this year, Gymnasts who have competed in the General Levels 2 6 may transfer to the PLUS 3-5 Levels at a level the coach deems suitable. If a Gymnast competes at Level 3 PLUS this year and wishes to move back to the General Levels next year, she may re-enter the General Levels at Level 5 or higher. If a Gymnast represents Ireland at an International Competition, she must compete in the PLUS Levels Structure. Gymnasts competing at Levels 9 & higher may also compete at National Team Championships (which is a FIG Competition), subject to the rules detailed above If she scores higher than 40.00 at FIG Teams, she may no longer compete in Level 9 or 6 PLUS. 18
