By: Parth Patel Halloween is an annual holiday, celebrated each year on October 31, which has roots in age-old European traditions. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Celts believed that on the night before the New Year, the boundary between the world of the living and the dead became blurred; it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints; soon, the evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween.

Pride and Prejudice is centered around the Bennett family in England. The plot is centered around Mr. Bennett who is adamant in getting all 5 of his daughters married. Throughout the play, the audience follows the love story of Elizabeth, one of the older daughters, and Mr. Darcy, a very wealthy, class conscious man, as well as the other love that take place. The play was funny, emotional, and all around enjoyable and intriguing. Inspired performances by Diane Cervelli as Elizabeth, Gillian Zahn as Jane, Aaron Neogy as Mr. Bingley, and Chris Dzioba as Mr. Darcy brought the play to life in spectacular fashion. The talented on-stage, as well as off-stage crew came together to act out an amazing story. A huge thank you to all the actors, crew, and Ms. Rich for taking the time and effort to put together such a riveting and entertaining fall production.
