Studio 4 Parent Handbook All Competitive Lines 2018-2019 1

Studio 4 Dancers Code of Conduct Disciplined Place others ahead of yourself for the greater good of the team. Do what you are supposed to be doing, even when it s not what you want to do. Professional Be focused on the task at hand. Always be on- time and prepared. Thank instructors after each class. Dance is a world of connections and word of mouth. Leave a good impression with all. Humble Have a Team First attitude, understanding that the greatest success will come from working together towards a common goal, not independent self- related goals. Do not be an individual, dance is a team sport. There is no I in TEAM. Be willing to listen and learn from instructors and teammates. Relentless Give full effort at all times. Understand that some things are going to be easy and some more difficult, but it is that way for everyone. Leaders Be an example for others to follow both in and out of the studio. Make mature decisions that you are proud of. Hold yourself, and therefore your team, accountable at all times. PROUD TO BE S4D! 2

PARENT EXPECTATIONS POLICIES - To aid in your child s development at Studio 4 we would like to take the school approach of this being your child s journey. We will be working towards a closed lobby theory for our competitive program, for dancers in first grade and older. We truly believe this will allow your child(ren) to grow not only as dancers but also foster friendships, gain independence, and learn to work as a team towards a common goal. This freedom will aid in your child reaching their fullest potential. Should you need to stay please keep the lobby space outside of Broadway and Main Street open for the recreational dancers and parents. - Costumes- Embellishing and hand sewing portions of your child(rens) costumes. - A family must volunteers at least 2 shifts during Recital Weekend to cover all needed help for dress rehearsals and recital shows (does not include dancing dads volunteer hours). - General help and support during busy times of the year. - Filling needed positions (ie. room moms, class manager, etc.) - We will not tolerate parents or students negatively discussing other children/parents/staff/owners both inside and outside of the studio. Studio 4 is a FAMILY and, as with your own family, a healthy and supportive environment is essential to reaching max potential. This behavior WILL result in a meeting and/or removal from the studio. INJURY POLICY - Any dancer injured within 30 days of a performance may be removed/replaced for that and any future performance. - Every dancer is required to keep their Medical information current through your Manage My Account. - In the event that your child is injured at Studio 4, the following steps will be taken. 1- Office staff will call the paramedics immediately if deemed necessary 2- Office staff will call the parent and if unable to get in contact, will then call the emergency contact provided on your medical card. 3- Child will sit with front desk staff if able or will stay in room where injury occurred with teacher 4- If parent is not on the premises, student will be released to the paramedics - By signing your competitive contract, you agree to the above policies. - Dancers may not start 2018-2019 classes until Medical Information is current (no exceptions).
