Practice makes you a better shooter and regular time at the range is the best way to achieve this. Why not join one of our numerous leagues or activities at our club? This helps schedule regular time at the range and challenges you to try something new. Remember all our events and leagues are open to the public. So bring a friend even if they are not a member. Why don t people join? Some feel intimidated because they are not as skilled as the people there. The leaders and competitors are always willing to help out a new person. I do not have the equipment. Bring what you have and usually someone is willing to lend you what you need until you are able to get your own What Events and leagues do we have available? Shotgun: Trap league every Wednesday all summer starting the first week in April: Don t have a team or want more information? Contact Jerry Oglesby 309-360-6152 Rifle: High Power rifle: Learn how to shoot standing, sitting, and prone. Club has ammo for purchase and guns that can be borrowed. So all you need to start is show up with some money. Contact Chris Bach 309-256-1712 Mauser Match: Uses any center fire rifle with open sights and any center fire rifle with peep sights designed before 1950. Matches run

Contact Ross Baer 309-274-3273 Indoor Small Bore Rifle: 10m match shot with 22 s. Club has some 22 s that can be borrowed. Matches run through April are Mondays at 4 pm, Wednesdays at 11, and Saturdays at 8 am. Contact Ross Baer 309-274- 3273 Centerfire and Rimfire Buffalo Match: Knock down steel at long range. Next Centerfire Match is April 1 at 9 am and next rimfire match is April 15 at 9 am. Contact Doug Dotson 309-675-0200 for info on rimfire or Kyle Mustain 309-255-6339 for centerfire Handgun: Bowling Pin: What can be more fun than trying to knock bowling pins off a table as fast as you can? Matches run all year long. Can use rimfire, centerfire, revolver or pistol. If you have a handgun you can participate. Next match is March 4 starting at 1 pm in the club house. Starting April Matches start at 9 am on range 5 on the 2 nd Staurday of the month. Contact Kevin Monk 309-443-5339 Bullseye: How accurate can you be with a pistol? Contact Bill Schneckenburger 309-339-1378 Raffle The Club is trying to raise some money to purchase new 22 rifles for our youth and 4H shooters. The rifles we have are surplus WWII trainers and some of them are at the end of their useful life. So we are raffling off a Service Grade International Harvester M1 Garand. Tickets will be available at the April Gun show or by contacting Chris Bach 309-256-1712. Outdoor Work Party The next work party will be on April 7,2018 at 8:00AM. Major task is to clean up debris from the flood. We will replace targets on the ranges, cleaning up trash and fallen tree limbs on all ranges (including archery range), weed trimming around property, burning brush piles if

possible. Bring rakes, shovels, chain saws, gloves, weed trimmers, and trailers. We do not plan on repairing target frames this time. ALL RANGES ARE CLOSED TO SHOOTING UNTIL AFTER THE WORKPARTY IS COMPLETE (about 1:00) except for schedule events. Contact Bill Schneckenburger at (309) 339-1378 for more information. April Gun Show Our next Gun Show will be April 7 th 8:30 to 4:00 and 8 th 8:30 to 3:00 in the Clubs Clubhouse. Setup will be Friday April 6 th starting at 9:30 AM. We will be giving club work hours to help set up on Friday and for helping with watching the doors on Saturday. Questions Call Scott Kirchner @ (309) 274-8407 with Indoor range questions APRIL 20 & 21, 2018, YSSI WEEKEND WORK HOUR CREDITS: The 17th Annual YSSI Weekend is set for April 20 & 21, 2018. Help will be needed on Saturday, the 21st, on all ranges (Indoor Rifle, Shotgun, Archery, High-Power Rife, Muzzleloading Rifle, Cowboy Action Pistol, Buffalo Rifle, USPSA, and in the Clubhouse & Kitchen. We will need 3 or 4 individuals to come in on Friday the 20th @ 10 AM to help get the final food, other supplies, pick up ice in the early afternoon, and perform final setup needs. We will also need 3 or 4 very early risers to come in on the Saturday the 21st and start cooking breakfast at 4 AM so that we can be ready to feed everyone by 6:30 AM. The remaining kitchen staff needs to be here by 6 AM to help finish the cooking and to get everything out and ready to feed the participants. WORK HOUR CREDITS will be given to all volunteers who assist.
