WHO ARE WE? The 20th of December 1974, two years after becoming the oldest player to win Roland Garros, at the age of 35, Andrés Gimeno Tolaguera founded the club of the same name. Nowadays the club has taken on a plan of investments with the objective of being, as it was in its first years, a reference point in the social and sports environment of Barcelona. All this is being done keeping in mind its great capacity to organize big sports events and its spirit to promote sport, especially tennis. It is a club with history willing to offer an unforgettable experience. 1
WHERE ARE WE? CLUB DE TENIS The Andrés Gimeno Tennis Club is located in a strategic and excellent place surrounded by mountains and sea, only 15 kilometers from Barcelona, an internationally well-known city. We have 300 sunny days a year which make it the ideal place to practice outdoor sports and the perfect place for foreign people who are looking for short or long stays with pleasant sports and social experiences. OUR FACILITIES Our facilities are formed by a sport complex of 22,000 square meters that include: 23 Clay Tennis Courts, 1 Green set court and 2 courts for mini-tennis. Having a big quantity of courts allows you to practice tennis without having to wait for a long time. 5 Carpeted Padel Courts. The club has an exclusive area for the lovers of this sport that is gaining importance. Swimming Pool and solarium. It is located on the first floor where you can enjoy a privileged view of the club s tennis courts. Remodeled Gymnasium, with cutting-edge equipment. Spaces to practice sport with a coach. The classes are offered at different schedules to give more options to the members. Finnish Sauna, an excellent place to relax. Well-equipped changing rooms. Bar- Restaurant. It offers its customers excellent Catalan Cuisine, affordable prices and daily and weekend menus. It organizes parties and company dinners. Social facilities. C2 TENNIS AND PADEL PROGRAM FOR ADULTS The Tennis Club Andrés Gimeno offers you the possibility of contracting periodic stays to improve your level in Padel or tennis from a beginners level to a competition level. This program is not thought for professional players or for players with competition expectations, but for amateur players who would like a tailored program to improve their technique. The programs that we offer will meet the needs and objectives of the person adapting to his/her characteristics, technical level, period and schedule of the stay. Ask for a tailored estimate. Our club is a reference in Spain and Catalonia for the organization of activities for amateur players, for members and non-members: 7
Adult School with beginners, advanced and competition levels with more than 100 players. Organization of the Spanish Championship for senior players in 2005 and organizer of a tournament of the Senior ITF Circuit. Organization of four tournaments of the Catalan Senior Circuit of the Catalan Tennis Federation. Participation in all the Spanish and Catalan Championships by teams in different categories and obtaining a variety of titles. Participation in more that 20 senior amateur teams. Organization of a variety of events and sport tournaments for our members. STANDAR PROGRAM (from Monday to Friday) 9:00 to 11:00h. Technical and tactical training. 11:00 to 12:00h. Specific Physical preparation. 12:00 to 15:00h. Lunch and rest. 15:00 to 16:30h. Technical and tactical training. Note: The program includes one physiotherapistsession at the end of the stay. It is located at approximately 50 meters from the club and it is a refurbished establishment with modern facilities where you will be able to rest without having to move far. Lodging and breakfast: 280,00 Half board: 320,00 Note: We have collaboration agreements with other hotels in the town of Castelldefels located near the beach but where you will need to move by car or public transportation. LODGING: Hotel Canal Olímpic CLUB DE TENIS In collaboration with the Hotel Canal Olímpic, we offer the possibility of lodging and a convention room with a capacity for 300 people in an excellent residential area of Castelldefels. At the doors of our club you ll find this remodeled building in a colonial style with a restaurant, cafeteria, reception rooms, parking space, garden areas, sauna and terraces ready to offer you a place to enjoy yourself in a relaxed and quiet area. The hotel offers 46 rooms and 3 comfortable and functional suites. All the rooms are outward-facing, acclimatized, have satellite TV; free Wi-Fi, full bathroom and hair drier. 10
