Race 2 HEYFIELD WETLANDS MAIDEN PLATE - 1424 metres: The explanation offered by trainer Mr J. McArdle (Gungnir) was accepted for the colt s late arrival on course. Encosta Rossa was slow to begin. Encosta Rossa raced wide for the majority of the race without cover. Moosem began to overrace passing the 900 metres and raced in an awkward position for some distance behind Black Temptation until near the 800 metres where it had to be steadied when bumped out by Capsized. R. Booth, rider of Sir Delago, was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100 metres. Correct weight was delayed as Stewards viewed the head on film of the straight. Stewards lodged an objection on behalf of the connections of Victorious Tale (second placegetter)for alleged interference inside the 100 metres against Tawjeeh (first placegetter). Evidence was tended by both riders and it was established that near the 50 metre Tawjeeh shifted in under pressure making slight contact with Victorious Tale, and approaching the winning post both horses made slight contact due to both shifting ground. Nonetheless Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the initial contact near the 50 metres warranted an amendment to the placings and therefore the objection was dismissed. J. Benbow, rider of Victorious Tale was reminded of his obligations that when in doubt he has the facility to delay correct weight so that he can view the Stewards footage and determine whether an objection should or should not be lodged. As a result of this Bikini Dancer made slight contact with the hindquarters of Rose Of Camelot turning that filly out which caused Bikini Dancer having to be checked and becoming unbalanced and losing its rightful position. the incident. However, M. Allen was severely reprimanded and notified that when in similar circumstances he would be expected to leave sufficient galloping room for runners to his outside. ADJOURNED INQUIRIES: Seymour Racing Club Saturday June 15, 2013 Race 9 -Centrebet Super Best Plus 0-62 Handicap - 1412m: Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the reason for Golden Jeuney (B. Loy) dislodging its rider near the 800 metres. Evidence was taken today from apprentice jockey B. Loy who was unavailable after being transported to hospital on the day. After further examination of the Stewards footage and the evidence obtained throughout both inquiries it was established that Golden Jeuney shifted out slightly approaching the 800 metres making contact with Palliser and shortly after Golden Jeuney becoming unbalanced after being bumped by Palliser when racing tight on the inside of Crown Gem which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Stewards were of the view that no one rider was fully responsible for this incident and no further action was taken, however, P. Mertens will be notified that he must leave sufficient galloping room for runners to his inside in future.
