Levels offered: o USDF Introductory, USEF Training Level and above, USEA Beginner Novice through Prelim, USEF Western Dressage Intro Level and above and NWHA (Gaited) Dressage Intro and above. o Freestyles/Musicals offered: Musical Freestyle, Pas de Deux, and Quadrille. Intro Level Musical Freestyle will use the test included with this packet (NOTE: We will not be offering Intro Level Western Freestyle). Arenas: o All USEF Training level and above tests, USEF Western levels Basic and above tests and NWHA Training level and above tests will be performed in a Standard arena. o ALL levels of musical freestyle (except Intro level) shall be performed in a Standard arena. o All Intro level tests, Intro level Musical Freestyles and USEA tests will be performed in a Small arena. Tests to be used: o 2015 USDF Intro tests o 2015 USEF Level Dressage tests for Training level and above o 2015 USDF Score sheets for Training Level Musical Freestyle; First Level and above Musical Freestyle; Quadrille and Pas de Deux Training level and above. o 2014 USEA Beginner Novice through Preliminary o 2017 WDAA (Western) Intro Level and Above; score sheets for Basic and above Western Musical Freestyle o 2015 NWHA (gaited) Dressage Introductory through First Level, FEES: Class Fee: $30.00 per class ($25 per class for current USPC members) (For refunds, any withdrawal will need to be accompanied with either a doctor excuse or vet letter. With appropriate documentation a refund will be given minus a $15 office fee and any late fees paid. Any request for refund, along with all proper documentation, must be made by Oct 11 th ) Schooling Fee For Non-competing Horse: $20/day form and appropriate coggins) (For horses on the grounds for schooling purposes only. Must submit an entry Stabling: Overnight Stall (4pm to 6pm next day) $25/night (Includes 1 bag of shavings per night reserved) Day Stall (6am 11pm same day) $25/day (Includes 1 bag of shavings per day reserved) Weekend Stall $45 (Fri night thru Sun, Includes 2 bags of shavings) Grounds Fee (no stall) $20/day/horse (All trailers must remain attached to a vehicle) Tack Stall $25 (One time charge for the entire weekend) Extra Shavings $7.50/bag (No extra shavings will be available on grounds) This Schooling Dressage Show is a fundraiser for the Deep South Region Pony Clubs, a non-profit organization that is a member of the United States Pony Clubs. The mission of the USPC is to provide a program for riders of all ages and disciplines that teaches riding, mounted sports, and the care of horses and ponies, thereby developing responsibility, moral judgment, leadership and selfconfidence.

GENERAL SHOW INFORMATION 1. Coggins: A 12 month negative coggins dated October 2, 2016 or later must be included with all entries 2. Deep South Region s Show Ground Rules o The Show Ground is identified as the o area in and around the barns o area in and around all show arenas and warm up areas o area in and around the concession stand o any area where a mounted or unmounted competitor is present o Smoking Policy: Smoking is not allowed on the Show Grounds or in the presence of any rally members. o Dog Policy: For the safety of our competitors and spectators, dogs are not allowed on the Show Grounds and must be leashed o at all times. Dogs must never be left unattended. Motorized Vehicles: ALL motorized vehicles operated anywhere on the show ground facility must be operated by a licensed driver. 3. Longeing: There will be a designated longeing area. To comply with USPC guidelines, the person longeing must wear a helmet and paddock boots (or similar footwear). 4. Schooling: Available Saturday and Sunday in designated areas only. 5. Attire: Casual and tidy with hard soled shoes. Helmet with a secure retention system is required when mounted. 6. Food: Concession stand will be open. 7. Show Shirt: A Polo shirt for this show is being offered for pre-purchase. NOTE: Shirt Order form and payment must be mailed separately to River Riders Pony Club. See order form included with this packet. 8. Prizes: Each Test Level will be considered a Class. Ribbons will be awarded 1 st through 6 th place for each class. Each Musical category will be combined into one class with individual certificates to be awarded. Management reserves the right to split, cancel and/or combine classes as entries warrant. THE FOLLOWING USPC CODE OF CONDUCT WILL BE ENFORCED DURING THIS COMPETITION: The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. is proud of its reputation for good sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork and well behaved members. The USPC expects appropriate behavior from all members, parents and others participating in any Pony Club activity. Inappropriate behavior may include, but is not limited to: possession, use or distribution of any illegal drugs or alcohol; profanity, vulgar language or gestures; harassment (i.e., using words or actions that intimidate, threaten or persecute others before, during or following Pony Club activities); failure to follow rules; cheating; and abusing a horse. ACCOMODATIONS: Country Inn and Suites (130 Holiday Blvd, Covington, LA 70433; (985) 809-0467) A block of 20 rooms have been reserved. Available rooms are Standard Double Queen for $89 per night plus tax. Breakfast is included and will open at 6am. Reservations need to be made by September 8 th and you must mention that you are with Deep South Region Pony Club. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes away from show grounds. There are other hotels in this area if you wish to shop around. Overnight Hookups A limited number of spots are available at Lagniappe for $50 for the weekend. There will be spots reserved for show officials so these spots may not be used. The remainder of the hookup spots are available on a first come basis. Please be prepared to use generator power in case all hookups are taken. Payment for the spot must be made Friday when checking in and all checks need to be written to Lagniappe Equestrian Center. DIRECTIONS TO LAGNIAPPE: Coming from I-12 (east or west): Take Covington/Mandeville exit to US 190 toward Covington. Once through Covington take split to the left onto Hwy 25. Stay on Hwy 25 through Folsom. Once through Folsom you will see Spencer s Feed Store on the left and almost immediately the sign for Lagniappe on the right (white sign with jumping horse). Turn right onto Verger road. Lagniappe is at the end of the road. Coming from I-59: Take Poplarville exit, Hwy 26 west towards Bogalusa. Once through Bogalusa, this hwy will turn into Hwy. Stay on Hwy through Franklinton. Once through Franklinton take Hwy 25 south towards Folsom. Before reaching Folsom you will see the sign for Lagniappe (white sign with jumping horse) on your left. Turn left onto Verger road. Lagniappe is at the end of the road. HINT: If you see Spencer s Feed Store on your right you have gone too far. Coming from I-55: Take Amite Exit (Hwy 16). Go east on Hwy 16. Turn right onto Route 450 South. This will dead end at Hwy 25. Turn right onto Hwy 25 towards Folsom. At about 1.5 miles, before reaching Folsom, you will see the sign for Lagniappe (white sign with jumping horse) on your left. Turn left onto Verger road. Lagniappe is at the end of the road. HINT: If you see Spencer s Feed Store on your right you have gone too far. We are so happy that you are considering joining us this weekend in supporting our young dressage riders. On The Bit Farm Donna Meyer is an accomplished rider in multiple disciplines. She has worked professionally with horses since 1980, specializing in training and instruction of English and Western dressage and combined training/jumping. She currently owns and operates a full service boarding and training barn in Bryan, Texas, while simultaneously competing her own horse Romanov s Star to Grand Prix. (pictured with her on right). Her show record includes USDF Bronze and Silver medals, and two scores away from earning a Gold Medal. Donna has shown successfully thru Grand Prix. She won the Open Great American Insurance Group Championships with Isaiah, an Oldenburg Stallion, (pictured right) at Training level. Despite her competitive life style, she does much more than just train and show. She is currently the Region 9 Adult Education Chair for USDF, a USDF Associate Instructor, and a USEF r Judge and R Western Dressage Judge. Donna recently completed a Trainers Course with WDAA, The Western Dressage Association of America, and hopes to continue to help horse and rider teams to achieve their goals. Donna s 25+ years worth of employment at equestrian centers across the U.S and abroad have taught her invaluable, "practical" experience. To this day she describes herself as "one of the lucky ones" whose job is her love and passion. I authorize USPC, it successors or assigns, officials, officers, directors, employees, agents and/or volunteers to obtain and release to any USPC activity personnel (including, but not limited to, organizers, instructors, test examiners, chaperones), and to any first aid and safety personnel, medical professional, and treating medical facility, any information regarding my/my child s medical history, symptoms, treatment, exam results and/or diagnosis contained in the wristband or armband card. Furthermore, I agree and understand that it is my/parental/legal guardian responsibility to ensure that I/my child will not participate in any USPC mounted activities if I/my child have/has had a head injury or other medical condition and have/has been restricted from activity, until such time as the injury or condition is resolved and any activity restriction is lifted. I AGREE to release the USPC, its successors or assigns, officials, officers, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers and affiliated organizations from all claims including, but not limited to, claims for money or property, disability, covenants, actions, suits, causes or action, obligations, debts, costs, expenses, attorneys fees, judgments, orders and liabilities of whatsoever kind or nature in law, equity or otherwise, whether now known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, and whether concealed or hidden, including but not limited to any state or federal statutory or common law claim or remedy of any kind whatsoever arising out of or in any way connected with any Harm to me or my horse and for any Harm caused by me or my horse to others, even if the Harm resulted, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the USPC or the USPC activity. I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the USPC or the USPC activity, and specifically agree to the applicable state statute/law regarding equine/farm animal activity liability and signed posting (if any), in any state in which I or my child participates in a USPC activity. While a list of state statues and select portions of those statues believed to be in effect at the time of the execution of this agreement is attached hereto, I AGREE to locate, review and understand the full applicable state statutes in place in my jurisdiction. I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the USPC and the USPC activity and to hold them harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse in the USPC activity. I AGREE that neither I, nor any one claiming through me, will hereafter bring, commence, prosecute or maintain, or cause or permit to be brought, commenced, prosecuted or maintained, any suit or action, either at law or in equity, in any court in the United States or in any state thereof, or elsewhere, against the USPC, its successors or assigns, for, on account of, arising out of, or in any way connected with any Harm to me or my horse, and that neither I, nor any one claiming though me, will enforce, prosecute, or recover upon, or attempt to enforce, prosecute, or recover upon, any claim or right of action whatsoever, which I, or any one claiming though me, may now have or hereafter assert, in any way connected with claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harms caused by me or my horse at the USPC activity. I AGREE this Agreement is the entire agreement of the parties, and supersedes all prior oral and written understandings and agreements. This Agreement may be modified only by a written amendment signed by both parties. I AGREE that if any provision of the Agreement is found to be invalid or illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall be construed as if the affected provision had not been included in order to effectuate the intent of the parties. In the event this form is signed by the parent/guardian of a minor, then all representations and acknowledgements herein are expressly made by, for, and on behalf of the parent/guardian and minor.
