Shasta County 4 H All Star Support Team Due Friday, May 28, 2018 GOAL AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE AWARD Select up to a maximum of four 4 H members annually, 7 th grade and older, for their outstanding project work, leadership, and community service. The All Star Support Team will assist the current All Star Team in carrying out their county leadership roles. RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE ALL STAR SUPPORT TEAM 1. Work together as a team along with the All Stars to represent the Shasta County 4 H Program. They will represent 4 H at civic and community affairs to share 4 H experiences and promote 4 H as requested. 2. Mandatory each member of the All Star Support Team will help with the Valley Achievement Afternoon. At this event, you will each receive recognition as an All Star Support Team Member. 3. Support team is highly encouraged to help with the Achievement Night for Intermountain 4 H program and any other Intermountain 4 H event the member may be able to attend. 4. Support team will help the All Stars as needed at two or more of the following countywide events: Livestock Judging Day, Youth Leadership Lock In, Officer Training Day, 4 H Informational Night at the Library, Presentation Day, Favorite Foods Day, Shasta County Field Day and 4 H Sunday at the Mall. 5. Assist the All Stars with Officer Installation if requested to do so. 6. The All Star Support Team will: Hold meetings as needed to help promote the Shasta County 4 H Program. Help at officer trainings, presentation trainings, or record book trainings when requested. Maintain good communication with the All Stars. 7. Attendance at the Shasta County Council Meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month is encouraged. 8. Attendance at the regional WHY Conference is strongly encouraged; Registration fees will be paid by Shasta County Council. ELIGIBILITY Minimum qualifications All 4 H members are eligible to apply for the All Star Support Team recognition if all of the following are true: 1. Be in the 7 th grade or higher for the next 4 H year. 2. Be currently enrolled in the Shasta County 4 H program. 3. Have completed one or more years of 4 H. 4. Have earned a Bronze Star rank as of September.
5. Have completed one or more years as a Junior or Teen Leader. 6. Submitted the All Star Support Team application on time to the Shasta County 4 H Office including the following: Last year s completed Record Book All Star Support Team Checklist All Star Support Team Addendum to 4 H Record Book All Star Support Team Essay Questions 7. Have two letters of recommendation submitted on time to the 4 H office. One letter of recommendation is to be submitted from your community leader and one from an adult volunteer. Letters of recommendation may not be from a parent. The letters of recommendation must be in sealed envelopes. 8. Complete the interview process. You will be notified of the interview date. Application Submit an application, 4 H Record Book and two letters of recommendation, as indicated above by Friday, May 18, 2018 to the Shasta County 4 H office. Interview You will be required to attend an interview given by a panel of judges which includes the current All Star team. The date of the interview will be determined when all applications are received.
