ENTRUST (8) 13 14 years old. o Session 1 2 hours Introduction to the Crossbeam Experience (i) TPW learn why Crossbeam exists TPW share their name and background with the Entrust Team TPW learn about the Christian foundation of Crossbeam TPW receive a Guide Book with all dates, times, and locations of gatherings TPW learn what is expected of them as a Crossbeam Pioneer and the antler point system TPW receive and learn about how to complete weekly scouting reports TPW receive an overview of Crossbeam Entrust TPW fill out forms and waivers (with adult representative) o Session 2 2 hours - Signs. Winter to spring transition time. How can we help? (o) TPW scout land to determine deer and habitat health TPW learn terrain identifiers and terms TPW scout areas to include in the habitat improvement plan TPW hunt for antler sheds TPW establish mineral sites TPW clean trash and human clutter from hunting areas
o Session 3 1.5 hours Habitat planning. How to best Create sustaining habitat (i) TPW learn about a variety of ways to improve habitat TPW learn how to use topography maps TPW learn how to utilize GPS and compass to enhance the planning experience TPW (as a team) develop a habitat improvement plan o Session 4 2 hours Habitat implementation. Putting the plan into action (o) TPW learn how to safely use habitat improvement power equipment TPW participate in working on the habitat improvement plan o Session 5 1.5 hours Deer patterns. Data, trail cams, scouting, and maps (i) TPW learn to identify bedding areas, travel routes, and food sources using a variety of scouting techniques TPW learn to setup and configure scouting cameras TPW write about their experiences in their scouting reports
o Session 6 2 hours Muzzleloader setup, shooting, and cleaning (o) TPW learn to identify the parts of a muzzleloader TPW learn about the functionality and effectiveness criteria of muzzleloaders TPW learn how to clean a muzzleloader TPW load, site in, and clean a muzzleloader o Session 7 2 hours Passing it on. Assist with the Engage Team hunt planning (i) TPW participate in the Engage Team hunt planning TPW choose individuals on the Engage team that they will follow up with to communicate experiences and stories TPW share what they have done with the Entrust Team and share words of encouragement to the Engage Team TPW write a note in the Engage Team members scouting journals o Session 8 3 hours Crossbeam Pioneer trip to Deer Tracks Junction(o) TPW view and learn about live trophy whitetail deer TPW attend the Deer Tacks Junction Play TPW participate in a Q&A with the Deer Tacks Junction Staff
o Session 9 1.5 hours Planning for December Muzzleloader hunt (i) TPW review latest scouting information to determine stand placements TPW identify needed equipment/supplies for the hunt TPW review hunter s safety information and hunting ethics o Session 10 2.5 days Deer Camp Muzzleloader Hunt! (o) TPW will attend a 2.5 day deer camp TPW participate in the Michigan Zone 3 Muzzleloader Hunt TPW share stories and experiences with other Pioneers TPW participate in camaraderie and assisting with meals TPW participate in leaving the outdoors in better condition than they found it o Wrap-Up Crossbeam Wild Game Fund Raiser dinner and awards ceremony (i)
