Hot Bacon and Egg Rolls will be available off the BBQ. No alcoholic beverages will be sold. Berthing facilities may be available from Friday for all participants. SUPPLEMENTARY SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 1. RULES 1.1. The race is governed by the Rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions published in the YWA Offshore Handbook 2017/18 and by these Supplementary Sailing Instructions. In the event of conflict, these supplementary sailing instructions will prevail. 2. MARKS 2.1. The start pin mark and the Day Buoy will be a yellow cylindrical buoy. 2.2. The Lancelin Day Buoy will be replaced by a GPS Waypoint please refer to Supplementary Sailing Instructions 6,7 & 8 below. 3. START TIMES 3.1. Warning Signal: 0925 4. COURSE 4.1. The course is amended, as per SSi 4.2 below, by the deletion of both Fairway Landfall Buoy and Hall Bank Beacon. Competitors are to proceed direct from the Lancelin Waypoint to the South Mole finish line, avoiding the Fremantle Harbour Entrance Restricted area pursuant to SI Rule 5. 4.2. COURSE Crossing the Start Line Day Buoy West South Passage Transit Beacon to Port Cape Vlamingh staying to seaward of Parker Point Exclusion mark and Cape Vlamingh exclusion marks 1, 2 & 3 Lancelin Waypoint to Port South Mole finish Line, avoiding Fremantle Harbour Entrance Restricted area pursuant to SI Rule 5. 5. RADIO COMMUNICATION PROCEDURE: 5.1. PRE RACE RADIO CHECKS: will be conducted by Offshore Race Control operating from the Fremantle Sailing Club Radio Room. The station - will open at 0830 hours Saturday 24 th March for radio checks on VHF Channel 72 and HF 4146, which will be monitored for the duration of the Race. 5.2. Offshore Race Control will also be monitoring VHF 16 & 81 during the race

5.3. Boats are reminded that a CONTINUOUS DUAL WATCH on VHF 72 and 16 is required. 6. POSITION REPORTS 6.1. Position reports as specified in Sailing Instruction 17.4 will NOT be required. 6.2. Boats shall report to Offshore Race Control by radio: 6.2.1. After going round the Lancelin Waypoint on VHF72 or 4146HF 6.2.2. When approximately one hour from the finish VHF72 or 4146HF. 7. CHANGES TO RACING RULES OF SAILING 7.1. Add new rule 18.5 in Part 2 of the RRS: 7.1.1. 18.5 ROOM TO PASS A WAYPOINT a. Rule 18.5 applies between boats when they are required to leave a waypoint on the same side and at least one of them is approaching it. However when rule 20 applies ( Room to Tack at an Obstruction), rule 18.5 does not. b. When overlapped boats are approaching a waypoint to pass it on the required side, the outside boat shall give the inside boat room to pass the waypoint, unless the outside boat has been unable to do so from the time the overlap began. c. If the inside boat has reasonable doubt that she has room to pass the waypoint, she may hail the outside boat accordingly. The outside boat shall then give the inside boat additional space unless she is unable to do so. 7.2. Rule 28 and Definitions are changed as detailed in Appendix 0ne. 7.3. Electronic Position Fixing 7.3.1. When data from electronic position fixing systems is used to determine the position of a boat for the purpose of verifying compliance with the rules, precedence shall be given to the data from the boat s primary navigation system. 7.4. RRS Rule 41(c) is deleted and replaced by: 7.4.1. A boat shall not receive help from any outside source, except; Help in the form of information that is freely available to all boats, which shall include navigational, weather, tide or current information from any source that is available to all boats whether or not by payment of a fee or subscription, but shall not include any information gathered or the subject of interpretation by, or any advice received from, any source not on board the boat and that is specific to the boat and its situation (By way of example and interpretation: downloading charts, weather and/or tidal GRIB files from subscription services, or having such information passed to the boat in its pure form, is permitted, but receiving messages or information which is the result of interpretation as it applies to the boat is not permitted.) This amends Rule 41(c). 8. WAYPOINTS

8.1. The position of the Waypoint at Lancelin will be specified solely by a GPS position, there will be no physical mark. The coordinates for this Waypoint are 8.1.1. Lancelin Waypoint 31 01.000S 115 17.500E 8.2. Boats shall round the specified position using their GPS facilities, in the direction specified in the course. 8.3. GPS Datum. 8.3.1. The GPS positions specified for Lancelin Waypoint in 8.1.1 shall use the WGS84 datum. Competitors are advised to check the GPS they are using is set to this datum 9. PROOF OF ROUNDING A WAYPOINT 9.1. A boat may be required by the Race Committee or a Protest Committee to provide evidence, in the form of a GPS Track, that it has correctly rounded a Waypoint. 9.2. Failure to provide the evidence required in 9.1 will result in a time penalty of not less than 30 minutes. The penalty applied will take into consideration the potential advantage gained and could lead to Disqualification. 9.3. A boat that fails to provide the evidence required in 9.1 shall be penalised by the race committee without a hearing. The penalty shall be in accordance with 9.2. A boat so penalised shall be entitled to a hearing on request. This changes rule 63.1 9.4. A boat shall not protest another boat for failing to report as required by 9.1. This changes rule 60.1 10. COMPLIANCE WITH SPECIAL REGULATIONS 10.1. Audits & Investigations 10.1.1. Competitors are advised that the Race Committee may carry out audits or investigation to ensure compliance with Australian Sailing Special Regulations, Part 1 for Racing Boats. Audits could occur before, during or after the event. 10.2. DECLARATIONS 10.2.1. All competitors shall complete the Declaration Form provided at the briefing night and forward to the Race Committee within six hours of their finish time confirming their compliance or non-compliance with the SI s, Special Regulations and RRS. 10.2.2. The declaration form can be hand delivered to the Fremantle Sailing Club Radio room or a photograph of the completed form sent by SMS to the mobile number of the Race Officer. 10.3. Pre-Start Documentation 10.3.1. Crew list with emergency contact details, Australian Sailing numbers and PLB numbers are to be supplied in an Excel format on the ORWA crew list form no later than 1700 on Tuesday 20 nd March 2018. 10.3.2. A boat s crew list may be changed to correct errors or to amend for late crew changes, but shall not be changed later than two hours prior to the starting signal. After any change to a crew list, the boat shall satisfy the minimum requirements for crew experience. 10.3.3. Where a late change is made to a crew list the responsibility rests with the Skipper to ensure the PLB s of the crew involved are registered with AMSA as the Organising Authority will not have time to do this prior to race commencement

11. Failure to Comply 11.1. A boat that is found to be non-compliant with any of the requirements for Category 3 of the Special Regulations, or additional requirements specified in the Notice of Race or these Supplementary sailing instructions, may be penalised by the race committee without a hearing. 12. PROTESTS 12.1. The first sentence of Sailing Instruction 15 is amended to read as follows: Protests and requests for redress shall be delivered to a member of the Race Committee, or a Fremantle Sailing Club Flag Officer, within the time limit. 12.2. In the result of any protest being lodged, provisional results will be initially posted until the outcome of the protest has been determined and the results reposted accordingly. 13. TROPHIES AND PRIZES 13.1. Results will be announced at the Success Cup Presentations. 13.2. Prizes will be awarded for: Division 1, 2 and DH- YAH Division 1, 2 and DH IRC Overall IRC and YAH. 14. HANDICAPS Will be provided separately prior to the race 15. PRESENTATIONS 15.1. Presentation and Results will be at the Success Cup Presentation on Friday 13 th April at Fremantle Sailing Club. Details will be provided at a later date.

Appendix One 1. CHANGES TO RACING RULES OF SAILING 1.1. Changes to the Definitions Add new definition: Waypoint A position, other than a mark, described by latitude and longitude coordinates that the course requires a boat to leave on a specified side. 1.2. Rule 28 is changed to: 28 SAILING THE COURSE 28.1 A boat shall start, sail the course described in the sailing instructions and finish. While doing so, she may leave on either side a mark or waypoint that does not begin, bound or end the leg she is sailing. After finishing she need not cross the finishing line completely. 28.2 A string representing a boat s track from the time she begins to approach the starting line from its pre-start side to start until she finishes shall, when drawn taut, pass each mark or waypoint on the required side in the correct order, touch each rounding mark, touch a hypothetical object at each rounding waypoint, and pass between the marks or waypoints of a gate from the direction of the previous mark or waypoint. She may correct any errors to comply with this rule, provided she has not finished. 28.3 The sailing instructions may specify criteria to determine whether a boat has rounded or passed a waypoint on the required side.
