Rhee International Taekwondo Australia is a traditional, noncompetitive martial art which aims to achieve the following characteristics in our members: Fitness and good health Self-defence Self-control Self-discipline Self-confidence Integrity Perseverance Courtesy and respect Rhee International Taekwondo has been established over 40 years with training centres (dojangs) throughout Australia and New Zealand. Master Instructor, Master Chong Chul Rhee is widely known as the Father of Australian Taekwondo. Rhee Taekwondo at Melbourne University is under the guidance of Master Instructor Chong Hyup Rhee, brother of Master Instructor Chong Chul Rhee who operates the Victorian Rhee Taekwondo Network. Thank you for your interest in Melbourne University Rhee Taekwondo Club, a recognised sporting club of the University of Melbourne. physical and mental strength to apply in their day-to-day life. The discipline, mental training and various techniques of Rhee Taekwondo also provide the grounds for engendering in the practitioner a strong sense of justice, fortitude, compassion, humility and resolve. Every movement of Rhee Taekwondo is scientifically designed, with a specific purpose in mind. Many of the movements involve beneficial stretching of the arms, legs and torso. The practitioner of this Art will achieve a high degree of aerobic (heart/lung) fitness, whilst, the muscles of the body will be toned and stimulated. Expertly taught by qualified instructors, regular practice of Rhee Taekwondo ensures limitless benefits for a fulfilling way of life. The art of Rhee International Taekwondo involves numerous dynamic techniques. Combining the skilled application of powerful kicks and punches, blocks, dodges and interceptions, with the philosophy and traditional teachings of Rhee Taekwondo, the practitioner attains www.rheemutkd.com 3
The rates below entitles you to all training sessions within the prescribed period. The first two lessons are FREE; you are welcome to attend our class and trial it out. Membership is for the period between January 2015 to December 2015 Fees charged are to cover the costs such as venue hire and insurance. Please note that the fees below entitle you to training with the Rhee branch of MUTKD only. Fees set as at 7 March 2015 (revised) Find our group at Facebook under Rhee MUTKD or Melbourne University Rhee For regular announcements https://www.facebook.com/ groups/rheemutkd/ Whilst uniforms are not compulsory for beginners it is recommended for comfort during training. We do not want anyone to be excluded from club membership due to financial restraints. Please discuss your concerns with the instructor of the club and we will work with you to find a solution. For your convenience, a MUS membership form is attached in this brochure. Please provide directly to the instructors of the club upon completion. No classes held on every first Thursday of the months of March, June, September and December due to grading held off campus. Classes run throughout the year except for public holidays, the 2-3 week mid year break and the 3-4 week end of year Christmas break. 4
