It s time for chili! Our October meeting has been moved to Saturday, October 22 at Bill Boone s shop. There will be chili and the fixin s. This year we will be judging the chili that you bring. If you want to make chili for the judging be sure to have it there by 5:00. Everyone will be given a ballot to select their favorite chili. Winners will be determined by popular vote. Prizes will be awarded. We will need desserts and other food stuffs, like cheese, chips and side items, so if you are not bringing chili, please consider bring some of these other items. The club will provide the bowls, utensils and drinks. Upcoming activities include our Toy Drive and our Christmas party. Stay tuned for the particulars on those events. Susan Brownell Activities Director Date: November 20th Time: 5pm Location: Spring Creek BBQ, Bedford **NOVEMBER MEETING MOVE** For November our club meeting has been moved to Spring Creek BBQ. We have reserved the side room (seats 60) from 5pm to 6:30pm. This location is on the northwest corner of 183 and Forest Ridge in Bedford. We have been to this location in past years and there is ample outdoor parking within view of the side room.

Finally the cooler weather is here! It's Fall, it's October and that means chili at Bill's. Remember the October club meeting will be on a Saturday, October 22nd, at Bill's at 4pm. The club will provide the drinks, plates, forks...members please bring chili, chips, cheese or dessert. The chili will be judged at 5pm so be sure and have yours there. It's always a great time and I hope to see everyone there. The November meeting will be at Spring Creek BBQ in Bedford on 183. It has been about 7 years or more, but it will be nice to go back to Spring Creek. See ya there. The "Toy Drive" will be the Sunday after THANKSGIVING, November 27th, at Allen Samuel's from noon till 4pm. There will be awards for the top ten in the open car show. Let's fill a couple of trucks with toys again this year. The 2011 COWTOWN MOPARS CHRISTMAS PARTY will be at a different location this year. How about Mexican food a couple miles North of "Jerry World" in Arlington. It will be Saturday December 3rd at Mercardo Juarez at 5pm. Again this year it will only cost you $5 and the club will cover the rest! Last but not least I would like to thank Mike Miller, Bill Boon and Steve Loremo for their efforts on getting the grilling surface back in tip top shape. "COOKIE" is very happy now! Join us at a TMCCC race and he will be glad to cook for you. THANKS KEN FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!!!! See ya soon! Mark Buchanan

FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT Every January, I am glued to the TV watching Speed Channel's coverage of the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, AZ. I have always wanted to go to a major car auction in person. I got my chance this past weekend, as Mecum Auctions came to Dallas for the first time. Mecum held the auction at the Dallas County Convention Center, and the cars filled the main hall. Non-bidder entry was $15.00, and a bidder's badge cost you $100.00 Lesa and I went over Saturday morning, plunked down our $30.00, and walked into the best car show we've ever been to. There was something for everyone's taste. From project cars, to daily drivers, to magnificently restored classics, it was all there. It was not a surprise that Mopars were slightly outnumbered by Fords and Chevys, but what was there was worth looking for. The five highest dollar Mopars were a '71 Hemi Challenger, four speed, shaker car, with numbers matching engine and transmission, that bid to $200k without meeting reserve; a '70 Hemi Cuda, four speed, shaker, that sold at $160k (non-original engine and transmission); an awesome '70 Cuda Resto-Mod with a FI 440 went to $110k without meeting reserve; a ''64 Plymouth Savoy Lightweight Race car (not sure if it was original/correct) went to $105k without meeting reserve; and my favorite, a '69 Superbee four speed, A-12 car, with buckets and console that sold for $92.5k. A couple of other notables were a nicely restored, Panther Pink T/A that bid to $65k without meeting reserve (non-original drive train), and a nice custom '68 Charger R/T that sold for $87k. The two big money cars, were a '69 Corvette survivor, L88 Coupe,427 ci,, four speed, black paint, that sold at $562.5k, and a '12 Lexus LFA Coupe that bid to $325k without meeting reserve. From what I heard from Mecum employees, was that they were very pleased with the everything about their Dallas effort and will be coming back. It was a great way to spend the day, and it makes me want to go to Scottsdale even more. Veep Ken Key BY THE MINUTES - Rich Lemmon 28 attending Start 17:26 1. Recent activities A. Business Of The Month Bill Boon, owner of Texas Trailer Man has been a Cowtown Mopars Club member for 20 years. Bill opened the Texas Trailer Man dealership in 2001. Texas Trailer Man specializes in open and enclosed car hauler trailers, but also sells motorcycle, utility, landscape and cargo trailers as well. Plus Texas Trailer Man offers full service, parts and accessories for trailers and the vehicles that pull them. We sell only top quality trailers at the best possible price. We sell Maxey, 102 Ironworks, Cargo Mate, and American Hauler trailers. We sell and install trailer hitches, goosenecks, 5 th wheels, Electric Jacks, Generators, Air Conditioners and all types of tie down and cargo control components for just about any type of trailer. We service axles, bearings, seals, brakes and we sell trailer tires and wheels. We are an official State of Texas Inspection facility for Safety and Commercial inspections on Trailers and also Motorcycles. State of Texas requires that any trailer that is registered in the state with a capacity of 4500 pounds or greater must have an annual Safety inspection which cost $ 14.50. If your trailer and tow vehicle weight combination capacity is 10,000 pounds or greater and you use your trailer for Interstate Commerce (make money with it in and out of the state of Texas) then your trailer requires a Commercial Inspection which cost $ 62.00. State and local agencies are aggressively watching for un-inspected trailers and issuing citations. A big thanks to all the Cowtown Mopars club members who have bought trailers, parts and services from us in the past. We hope you all will continue to make us your number one source for trailer needs.
