Wabash is ranked in the top tier of national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report.The trustees have consistently rejected calls to institute coeducation, leaving Wabash one of the country's three remaining male-only liberal arts colleges. DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, US, is a private, national liberal arts college and School of Music with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. DePauw is home to both the first modernday sorority and the two longest continuouslyrunning fraternities in the world. This football rivalry has endured 121 years. Olivia Malone s senior project is Reading for Rockets, a book drive to benefit the students at Schmitt Elementary School. Please bring in any gently used picture or chapter books to your Language Arts teachers. All donations will be greatly appreciated and the books will be given to those who will truly value them. Thank you for all of your contributions! 4. Try-outs for the girls 7 th grade basketball team will start on Tuesday, October 21 at 5:15. A sign-up sheet is available in the main office. Please remind all that you MUST have a physical on file with the school or bring one with you on the first night of tryouts. 5. 8 th grade girls basketball tryouts which start Monday Oct 20, 2014 in Gym 1 From 5:15pm to 7pm. They need to have a physical done before they can tryout. There is a sign-up sheet in the main office. 6. 8th grade boys basketball tryouts begin Monday October 20th at 3:15. Sign up sheet is in the main office. You must have a physical on file. 7. IUPUC is sponsoring an event called TechSavvy, which is a national event to engage middle school-aged girls in STEM activities and to inform them about the good career opportunities in STEM fields. The IUPUC TechSavvy will be held November 8th. Flyers are in the main office. 8. Last night was the opening of the Northside Player s performance of A Complete Idiot s Guide to School. It was held at North and over 200 people attended the awesome performance by our students. They will be back in action tonight at 7 pm @ North. Below are those who are involved with the play.

The 7 th grade B team defeated Jennings County 14-8 last night! Libby Cutler a Senior at North high school is putting on a free high jump clinic. If you are interested in learning the skills and technique to be a better high jumper in Track and Field you can pick up a flyer in the guidance office. Boys Basketball 7th and 8th grade open gym dates: Sept. 23, 26. Oct. 1 Times: All open gym times begin at 5:30 and end at 7:00 p.m. Girl s 7 th /8 th Grade Basketball We will be holding Open Gym on the following dates: Sept: 23,24 & 30 Oct: 2 Time: 6 to 8pm Perfect Attendance Challenge- Win a free ipad Mini! Students who have perfect attendance during the dates of August 6, 2014 through December 1, 2014, will be eligible to enter the drawing for 3 ipad Minis. For the purposes of this contest PERFECT attendance is defined as - No absences, No tardies, No early departures, No doctor's appointment. Basically - You can't miss school! Those students with perfect attendance will also be eligible for The Festival of Lights Parade on December 6, 2014.
