Register online: www.swimswat.org Returning swimmers: Registration fees due by 5/15. New swimmer registrations accepted as long as space permits. The Southwest Aquatic Team (SWAT) is a sanctioned USA-Swimming competitive swim program that has served the local community since 1982. Swimmers are coached by certified professional coaches. Our primary practice sites are Whitnall, Muskego, Greenfield, West Allis Hale, and West Allis Central High schools. Summer practices are also held at the 50 meter Wilson Park outdoor pool. Mission Statement: Committed to not only better swimmers, but to better people While instruction of various swimming skills is a critical part of our program, our coaches strive to create an environment at the pool that is one of continual encouragement, working at great lengths to eliminate that fear of failure attitude that can have a devastating impact on swimmer development. The ability to set goals, face challenges, and manage time wisely is developed. Learning the value of perseverance and improvement on listening and social skills are other benefits acquired along the way. We promote good sportsmanship and team support so that swimmers learn to cope and support each other in both their success and disappointments. Club Philosophy: The Southwest Aquatic Team is committed to the philosophy of being able to provide something for everyone regardless of ability or commitment level. In addition to our learn to swim lesson program (Swim America) our competitive team offers 11 group levels ranging from 5 year olds up to and including college age swimmers. We also offer a get in shape program for our high school swimmers. New swimmers who miss the tryout dates should email the SWAT Office: swatswimteam@wi.rr.com to set up an evaluation for group placement. We will accept swimmers after tryouts as space permits. TEAM PRACTICES: Practice Schedule- SWAT HOT LINE: 414-226-8577 (Check daily to confirm practice and daily team news). Schedules are located on the SWAT website by holding your cursor over the red tab on the home page labeled Schedules to create a drop down. Select Practice Schedules from the drop down. SWAT makes every effort to adhere to the printed practice schedule but sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control, practices need to be cancelled, moved, or rescheduled. We make every effort to contact groups affected by schedule changes/pool closures via emails but we also use a Hotline that you can call before you set out to practice to confirm your swimmers practice. A 15 second phone call right before leaving, can save needless driving time/frustration.. Please call 414-226-8577 on days you are practicing. Canceled Practice Policy: SWAT Reserves the right to cancel/change practices and no refunds or credits will be given for cancelled practices. Your swimmers training is important to our coaches and every effort will be made to reschedule if possible. Even though coaches encourage attending every practice offered for your swimmer s level, we do not expect swimmers to attend all. State/National l e v e l s w i m m e r s do have practice requirements and any swimmer joining that group must talk to the head coach prior to registering for that group so that they understand their practice requirements. General Guidelines for practice attendance: 8 & Under = 2/3 Time per Week 9 & 10 = 3/4 Times per Week 11 & Over = 4/6 Times per Week Practice Equipment: During practice swimmers may wear any color and style of suit plus good fitting goggles and a swim cap for anyone who wears a cap. While we do have some equipment at the pools available for use, your coaches will require swimmers to have their own equipment for practices. You can purchase equipment from All- American Aquatics at 1-800-910-7946. The TEAM GEAR tab on our home page will provide a list of needs per group level and a link t o All American to order directly from them. Swim Meet Apparel: SWAT swimmers are required to wear a solid black suit and a team cap (if wearing a cap) when competing in meets. Suits are available from All-American Aquatics and our website does have links to various other local and on line vendors. Cap purchases can be made at practices and meets from the coaches and/ or our team gear coordinator. SWAT logo gear should be worn to all swim meets and is also available from the Team Gear Coordinator. Special orders for personalized caps and warm-ups are placed each season. An email blast will be sent when order forms are available. Registration Options: USA Swimming is a year-round program that has two seasons. Short Course (Fall/Winter Session) concludes with a Championship meet held in a 25 yard pool. Long Course (Spring/Winter Session) concludes with a championship meet held in a 50-meter pool. (Current Registration) Session Fees are not prorated with the exception of new swimmers joining after scheduled start dates. Payment Requirement: Seasonal Swim Fees-Payment Options: Session Fees: Swim fees and any past due meet escrow must be paid in full and are due at the time of registration. College Alumni cost has full 2017 USAS to allow practices with SWAT through 12/2017 on college breaks. suadditional Fees: USA-Swimming Registration 2017: $64/$42 All swimmers in our program are required to be USA-Swimming Registered. USA-S is a national organization that sanctions our program, provides liability insurance to swimmers during SWAT activities and includes a quarterly subscription to Splash Magazine. Swimmers who registered in the fall of 2016 or spring 2017 already have this for summer registration. New Swimmers registered after June 3 have a prorated USA Swim Registration fee of $42 which will expire August 31, 2017. Administrative Family Fee: At time of registration, a $75 Administrative Fee will be assessed to each family (not per swimmer) for the long course season. The max charge is $75. If you register for spring only and then add the summer session, you are not charged again. Part of the fee includes your Family Registration and maintains your club voting rights. Escrow (Meet Entry Fees): As a competitive program, registered swimmers are expected to participate in meets selected for their group level. Entry fees for meets, are $4-$5 per event (typically a swimmer will compete in 3-4 events per day). Meet Fees are additional to the program session fees paid. A $75 per swimmer escrow charge will be added to registration to start their meet escrow fund. You are responsible for checking your online account for sufficient funds to cover meets you are declaring for. Payment of all meet fees billed on the 1 st is due by the 15 th of the month. Invoice reminders will be e-mailed on the 21st of each month. Accounts with fees past 30 days are assessed a $10 late fee. Accounts that do not have escrow funds available may be blocked by Team Unify from signing up for meets until payment is made. If you set up a credit card or bank account (Setup Auto Pay on the website) on your swim team account, the transaction will automatically process on the due date (1st of the month). Credit Card payments incur a 2.95% of balance plus $0.30 convenience fee (we do not keep this money; it is paid to Cynergy the vendor who handles online payments through TeamUnify). If you have ACH- autopay using your checking/saving account the balance plus $1.25 is withdrawn only on the months you have a balance due. This is the safest way to insure you do not end up with late fees, or blocked from meet signup.

Withdrawal Policy Swim Fees are not refundable once the session begins. Coaches try to make sure at time of tryouts that a swimmer is evaluated and placed in the appropriate level, and show signs of readiness for the team. On rare occasions, circumstances determine the swimmer is not ready, or the program is not a good fit. If your swimmer starts for the first time this season and by the 2 nd week of scheduled practices, you know the program is not going to work, you may email Cindy Budnik, SWAT Office Manager and ask to be withdrawn from the program. Your escrow fund and a training fee will be refunded if we are notified before the end of the 2 nd week. The Administrative Fee and processed USA Swimming registration is not refundable Optional Fundraising: SWAT offers several fundraisers during the year that are voluntary, but your participation can help you offset the cost of swimming. 75% of the profits are credited to your fundraising account which can then be applied to your fall & winter registration. Some of our long course fundraisers are: Scrip Program through Great Lakes Scrip -- Year Round Fundraising Event Flower Fundraiser -- Spring session only Heat Sheet Advertising now 75% of each ad sold earns you fundraising credits for the following season! This fundraiser has the highest profit margin since there is no product to buy from a vendor that limits the profit margin. TEAM WEBSITE POWERED BY TEAM UNIFY- Logging In and Passwords/Account Management: New Families: After your online registration and payment is received we will activate your online team account. Login Instructions will be emailed to you once your account is activated. You should log in right away and verify all account information and enter or update any emergency contact information. Adding your mobile phone carrier/sms (cell number) should also be considered. We do send emails and text messages if a practice has been unexpectedly cancelled/changed. Some families are able to check text messages more easily than retrieve emails. The office is unable to set this up so you will have to do an easy setup as approval with your carrier is needed. If you go in to your account and fill out the SMS texting portion, team unify will prompt setup steps automatically. If you do not receive the email with your login information within 2 weeks of registration, please let the office manager know right away. Your online account is used to declare for meets, volunteering for SWAT hosted events and viewing your online invoice and more. Please be sure to take some time to click on the various tabs and links as a wealth of information about our team and your sport is available via our team website. From time to time emails are sent only to specific roster groups. Make sure that your swimmer is listed in the data base in the correct roster or you may miss important emails, meet signups, or social events that pertain to certain groups. If your swimmer is advanced by the coaches in the middle of the session, please notify the office manager so that we can change the data base to reflect the swimmers new group. If there is a difference in group fees when advanced, swimmers will be billed the difference between the two groups for the remaining weeks of the session. Transfers : If your swimmer ever registered with another USA Swimming program in the past, a transfer form is required (see above) and should sent with your registration. Registration(s) prior to 2017 are subject to the $64 USAS registration fee and must be submitted with transfer form and included with registration fees. Medical Excuses If a swimmer is unable to participate fully for more than 3 consecutive weeks due to illness or injury, a portion of the session's fees may be credited toward the next session upon receipt of medical explanation from swimmers attending doctor. Doctors excuse must provide the number of weeks out of the water and should be followed up with a release from said doctor before returning to practice. Medical Waivers must be mailed, or scanned and emailed to the SWAT office manager to be kept on file before credit will be applied. Swimmer must be out of the program entirely during their medical absence to qualify for credit. No checks or paperwork should be given to coaches at practices. To set up autopay to protect your account from late fees: On the home page, Click on "My Account" My Account again, and then choose Set Up Auto Pay. Click the Current Payment Method drop down. Click to charge either the Bank Account or Credit Card Option. Click Edit; fill in your credit card info of bank account data and SAVE Changes. Credit Card balances will be posted to your account on the 1st of each month when Team Unify bills any charges from the previous month. 2.95% of balance is added by Team Unify for credit card processing. $1.25 is billed to ACH accounts only on the months you have a past due balance on the 1st of the month. Checks should be made payable to SWAT and mailed to the office manager: Cindy Budnik W172 S7707 Lannon Drive Muskego,WI 53150

VOLUNTEERING: SWAT is hosting TWO meets this 2017 Long Course Season: Hosting is an important source of revenue for our team and we require many volunteers for our meets to run properly. Working at SWAT-hosted meets gives you the opportunity to meet other SWAT parents and learn more about your swimmer s sport. The number of volunteer sessions needed each season is determined by the number of meets that we host and the number of registered families (accounts) during that season. Each family has the same requirement regardless of the number of children on the team. Shifts are usually 4-5 hours long and you can sign up for your shifts online using Team Unify. An e-mail will go out to let you know when online sign up is available. We need help in a variety of areas and most do not require previous experience or knowledge of the sport. Experienced workers are usually paired with our newer families so don t be afraid of any area to work! The volunteer coordinators are available to answer any questions you have about the open positions at any time. Call or E-mail them. The number of shifts required this season will be confirmed via email by the volunteer coordinators once meet schedules and registration is finalized. Meet Worker Requirements: Spring Fling SYOA: Friday, Saturday, April 28 th & April 29th at Greenfield High School (3 sessions, 2-day meet); ONE (1) Meet Worker Shift Required per active Account 12&Under SUMMER STATE: Friday-Sunday, July 28 th -July 30th at WSAC, Brown Deer (five sessions, 3-day meet); TWO (2) Meet Worker Shifts Required per active Account Families new* to SWAT are exempt from volunteering at the April SYOA meet. For the Summer State meet, however, new families will need to work one (1) volunteer shift. Regardless of any other volunteer commitment you may have with the team (SCRIP Coordinator, Banquet Organizer, Flower/Popcorn Coordinator, etc.), you will be needed to volunteer at the SUMMER STATE meet it is that important. * New accounts are those that joined SWAT after March 15, 2017. Important note: For those families that choose to buy out from working a particular meet the charge is $100 per session. For those families that are a no show for a meet in which they sign up the charge is $150 per session. Even if your child does not swim in the meets, you are required to work at our home meets. The revenue that is generated at our home meets benefits all families. Family, friends and siblings over age 15 are welcome to help fulfill your requirement. We are happy to provide documentation for your teens that need to meet volunteer requirements through school and other organizations. Just ask! Please check the red tab labeled Volunteers on our home page for a description of the numerous jobs, and contact informatio n for our volunteer coordinators.

Contact Information: Each Season we have so many wonderful new families join our team, many who have never been exposed to competitive swimming before. Our website covers questions frequently asked and we encourage you to take some time to click and explore. Sometimes new parents just need quick answers like What can I expect from our first meet? What is a heat sheet? Where can I find a good suit? We have all been new to something at one time or another. We want this to be an easy and pleasant transition for you and your swimmer into the great world of competitive swimming. We have parents from each group level willing to mentor our new families.
