IDTA Inventive Dance Competitions Classical Sequence, Modern Sequence and Latin Saturday 30 th June 2018 RULES 1. Competitors and their partners must be a member of the IDTA or an Association recognised by the British Dance Council. Each competitor may enter one dance only in each section. 2. A typed description and memory stick containing a copy of the script must be available to hand to the Scrutineer prior to the final, if required, with the competitor s name, address and telephone number included. We would encourage competitors who have access to a PC to bring a memory stick with the description of their dance preferably in Microsoft Word format. 3. The description of the dance should follow the style given below: (a) Four Bar Headings (b) Description (c) Footwork (d) Timing 4. The title of the recommended CD, its number and manufacturers name should be included. 5. The dance must be based on recognised technique. Dances must be 16 bars in length and must not have previously been performed in public. A CD player will be available and competitors must bring their own CDs labelled with the name of the dance and track number. THE IDTA WILL ONLY ACCEPT AND PLAY ORIGINAL MUSIC CDS. Competitors must report to stewards 30 minutes before the commencement of the competition and will dance in the order published in the programme. Three sequences will be danced in the first round and two in the subsequent rounds. The winning couple(s) will receive a prize of 200 plus 50 expenses. Each of the remaining finalists will receive 50 expenses per couple. THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO HEAD OFFICE BY FRIDAY 18 TH JUNE 2018 THE CLOSING DATE WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO AND NO REMINDERS WILL BE SENT Arrangements will be made for the descriptions of the winning dance to be duplicated and made available during the evening of Saturday 30 th June 2018 or to be emailed. The signed acceptance of these rules shall assign to the International Dance Teachers Association any copyright, which may be vested in the winning competitors.
