Nomination guidelines for clubs If you have identified volunteer(s) in your club you feel are deserving of an RFU recognition opportunity, please contact your CB, supplying their details in accordance with the guidelines below. 2015-16 Item Number Award Criteria Nominations Process June 2015 QBE International Tickets for 3 Grade A Matches in August and September 2015: 15 th August England v Italy 5 th Sept England v Ireland 100 in total (50 per game) Worthy volunteers will be selected by the CB on the basis that: No one person receives a ticket more than once in a 5 year period Tickets are not to go to current (or outgoing) CB Executive Members Letter sent to CBs on 22 nd July 2014 CB sends acceptance of the ticket allocation to by the end of August CB sends names and short citation for each volunteer to by Friday 26th September Tickets distributed to the CB in October 2014 November November Volunteer Visit to Red Arrows Training Base ERSFU NatWest Real Rugby Heroes Awards 2 A unique, once in a lifetime opportunity for just 2 exceptional volunteers to visit the Red Arrows Training Base at Royal Air Force Scampton in Lincolnshire on Thursday 19 th November. 10 This Schools Rugby Award is to recognise the largely unheralded efforts of those who beaver away in the background, for rugby and the school. Categories broadly similar to the past 2 years Seven categories of annual award celebrate the unique nature of university rugby and the people who support the students game. 1. Player of the Year 2. Team of the Year 3. Volunteer of the Year 4. University Staff Member of the Year 5. Referee of the Year 6. Student Coach of the Year 7. "Vaughan Parry Williams Award" for overall contribution to the student game An Honorary Life Member (not normally still a full-time teacher) will have served either on the Full, 18 group, 17-19 group, or 16 Group Committee, worked at National level either in Administration, Coaching, Selecting or Team Management. Services to Schools Rugby may be offered to someone who has worked at Divisional, County or Local level either through Committee work or as a Manager, Selector or Coach. Rugby volunteers who already have a match ticket can enjoy informal, outdoor hospitality before selected matches at Twickenham. Around 200 people per match are invited for food, beer and the craic. 40 places per event reserved for coaches, referees and medics 20 places per event reserved for groundsmen All places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Cut-off date normally around 2 weeks prior to kick-off. May May England match at Twickenham Stadium, 29 th May (TBC) Young Rugby Ambassador Celebration Event (TBC) President s Awards first served basis. Please nominate volunteers who have not already received recognition over the current season 100 The RFU Young Rugby Ambassadors (YRA) Celebration Event, hosted by the RFU National Youth Council (NYC), will take place on 29 th May 2016, prior to the England match. 100 Finalists will be invited to a celebration awards lunch, prior to the England game, at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday 29 th May. Nominations will be invited for achievement awards in various categories. 6
