The new 4-H year will be here fast! The new 4-H year begins September 1. Once again enrollment will be done online using the 4-H Online program. All 4-H members and leaders must re-enroll if they plan to participate in the 2015-16 year. Remem-ber if you are re-enrolling you already have a profile online, DO NOT create a new profile, just reactivate your current profile. Enroll-ment may begin on Septem-ber 2; go to: https://www.ndsu.edu/4h/4honline_enrollment_and_registration/ you will find instructions at this site and also the link to enter the online program and begin registering. If you have new 4-H members or leaders this year, they will also begin their enrollment process at this site. Please complete the initial enrollment process ASAP; we would appreciate every-one being enrolled by No-vember 1; however enroll-ment will be accepted after that date and changes Calendar of Events August 12th, 2017- Shotgun State Championship, Bismark August 16th- 4-H fun shoot, Oakes trap grounds 7pm September 1st, 2017- New 4-H year begins September 11th, 2017-4-H couicel meeting, Forbes, 6pm
State News State Shotgun Match The State Shotgun Match will be held in Bismarck at the Capital City Trap Range in Bismarck and the Capital City Sporting Clays Range near Menoken on August 12th. Please register on 4honline by August 7th for a fee of $25 that can be paid online or by check. Events are scheduled the same as last year and you will only need to choose your event. Please contact Adrian if you have any questions. Shotgun practices are held every Wednesday at 7pm the trap grounds in Okaes! State Events National 4-H Congress and Conference application deadline on August 1 Every year the National 4-H Congress and Conference application deadline on August 1 falls in the middle of our very busy 4-H season. These are two wonderful leadership opportunities that ND 4-H Youth Development and the ND 4-H Foundation provide for our older 4-Hers. As you interact with your 4-Hers, 4-H families, and 4-H volunteers please remind them of these leadership opportunities. Thanks to the ND 4-H Foundation there is very little cost to our ND 4-H delegates. REMINDER: Application deadline is August 1 The NDSU Center for 4-H Youth Development invites youth (ages 15-18) to apply to be selected to attend National 4-H Congress and National 4-H Conference. National 4-H Leadership Opportunities: 4-H Congress o Where: Atlanta, GA o When: November 24-28, 2017 o Purpose: To recognize and promote excellence in the 4-H youth development education program 4-H Conference o Where: Washington, DC o When: April 7-12, 2018 o Purpose: Involve youth with program development, strengthen and continue development of 4-H public relations programs Need to Know: Application deadline: August 1 Applications due for both programs at ND Center for 4-H Youth Development by August 1, 2017 Expenses: The North Dakota 4-H Foundation provides partial sponsorships. Delegates will be responsible for meals to and from the trip location and any souvenirs they wish to purchase. Applicants must: o be age 15-18 by January 1 of the year of the event o be able to miss one full week of school and/or work to attend the program o have been a participant in the 4-H program o be dependable and punctual
County News 4-H Council Meeting The fall 4-H Council has been tentatively set for Monday, September 11th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Forbes. This is the meeting where the 4-H calendar of events is set for the new year so we are asking that you bring your new school calendar along in order that we may avoid as many conflicts as possible. During this meeting we will also elect new executive board members. Come with candidate names in mind and so that you can vote for the most qualified people Record books due September 9th The 4 H Council is continuing their policy stating that each 4-H member (including Cloverbuds) must submit a completed 4-H record in order to complete and year and receive premium money from the fair. Hopefully you have been working on your record hroughout the year (this makes it much easier to complete).
