The new playground was dedicated in memory of Cameron Brenneman and the park was filled with many members of the community, family, and City staff. Robert Carolin, Leisure Services Director, welcomed the attendees, Mayor Kelley read a proclamation about the park dedication, and Patti Brenneman (Cameron s mother) expressed her heartfelt gratitude. Hailey Remigio and Hayleigh Ruddell, two young students who had volunteered to adopt Sanchez Park, played an instrumental role in designing the new playground and naming it in Cameron s memory. After the sign unveiling, children filled the playground and enjoyed playing on the new equipment. In addition, a memorial plaque was placed on the fishing pier in Sanchez Park.
