The Roanoke Skier The Monthly Newsletter for the Roanoke Ski Club JULY 2018 President s Message Thanks for joining us for the exciting July edition of the Roanoke Skier! July is certainly the most exciting summer month for the RSC. On Sunday, July 15, we have our annual Trip Kickoff Party to announce our new season of exciting trips and travel adventures. Join all your friends for subs, salads, and chips at the iconic Loch Haven Lake as we reveal our 2018-2019 destinations. Our line-up includes: a fall beach trip, winter ski trips to favorite western mountains, an intriguing French Alps week, with a magical stop in Paris, a spring Rhine River Cruise, and a thrilling South African Adventure. Being true to our mission statement, "to actively promote and engage our members' appreciation of the outdoors, our love of skiing, travel, and adventure," this year, there truly is a trip for everyone! You will meet our experienced trip leaders, get all the exciting details on lodging, activities, and transportation, and have ample time to ask your questions in person. Even if you're not able to travel this upcoming season, join us for gourmet subs, salads, and chips as we celebrate summer and reunite with all our ski club friends. It truly will be a special afternoon. Our dynamic club is thriving with record attendance last year; so please RSVP as soon as possible. I am very excited to lead our growing club for a second year. Please join me Sunday, July 15 for a fun picnic and preview our amazing destinations. I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks! Cheers! Marla Kemsey President P.S. remember to BYO adult beverages, we provide the picnic! 1
