Scenario 1 deep water submerged victim rescue - timed response Activate EAP & enter (stride/compact/slide in), swim 10yd, rescue using tube for lift keeping face out of water at surface & shout out for 911 & backboard, extricate from the water in 1 minute & 30 seconds Perform primary assessment in about 15 seconds and remember to check for consciousness, breathing & a pulse Provide CPR for 3 minutes remembering that drowning victims receive 2 breaths before starting compressions V. Scenario 2 Multiple rescuer response to show good teamwork One guard enters, rescues & helps remove from water Another guard brings backboard and assists with removal First rescuer with gloves on does primary assessment Second rescuer with gloves on helps with 2 rescuer CPR A third guard brings a BVM A fourth guard brings an AED First rescuer with gloves on assembles BVM and helps with ventilations (3 rescuer CPR) Last guard with gloves on prepares AED - repeating AED prompts (4 rescuer CPR) Provide 2 minutes of care Rotate rescuers Day 4, Afternoon Testing & Skills Practice VI.
