Scenario 1 deep water submerged victim rescue - timed response Activate EAP & enter (stride/compact/slide in), swim 10yd, rescue using tube for lift keeping face out of water at surface & shout out for 911 & backboard, extricate from the water in 1 minute & 30 seconds Perform primary assessment in about 15 seconds and remember to check for consciousness, breathing & a pulse Provide CPR for 3 minutes remembering that drowning victims receive 2 breaths before starting compressions V.
