Choosing the right club Before joining any club it s important to make sure that its right for you. First you should check that the Coach is a legitimate Black Belt and that they are registered with a governing organisation (don t take their word for it, check for yourself) if you are sending your child make sure they have a valid DBS check and they are insured. Also look at the existing members skill level and find out if they attend open external competitions. If the club is not able to provide the relevant documentation or they don t have a structure in place for competitions and belt progression. Or if they expect you to achieve black belt status in a short timeframe we strongly recommend that you look elsewhere to train. Some clubs make it much easier to achieve a black belt level but that does not mean that its member have the same skill level. Unfortunately many students that transfer to our club either don t have registered belts or the skill level to match their grade. About Legacy Legacy Taekwondo has been running classes in Slough since 2010. In that time the club has grown considerably and we have over 100 members. We like to think of the club as an extended family and hold events over the year so that our students can get to know each other and build a sense of community. Many of our students regularly attend competitions all over the country and around Europe. Our classes are designed to teach Disciple, respect and give all of our students the confidence to deal with anything that comes their way. If you are a parent and your child has behavioural problems we encourage you to speak with our coaching staff that can help. As you progress through your journey we expect that you develop an understanding of morality and responsibility both for yourself and your community, this is reflected in the criteria for our grading syllabus.
Joining the Club We are always happy to have new members join the club, however we do have a policy to cap classes to ensure quality training is always provided to our members, as a result there may be a waiting list for the class you are interested in.
