NSW HISTORIC FORMULA FORD SERIES CHAPTER 1 - ADMINISTRATION 1.1 TITLE 2012 REGULATIONS (i) The Competition shall be known and referred to as the 2012 NSW Historic Formula Ford Series, referred to as the Series in this document (ii) The Series will have the following Historic Formula Ford classes: Fa Fb Fc 1.2 IDENTIFICATION (i) By entering the Series, persons and corporations agree to refer to it only by its full title The 2012 Historic Formula Ford Series. Any advertising matter must include the full title. It is the responsibility of the Competitors and their sponsors to ensure that this requirement is met. 1.3 OBJECTIVE AND ELIGIBILITY (i) The objective of the Series is to promote and foster the competition of racing cars complying with the Cams regulations for Historic Formula Ford racing cars. The Series is open to all competitors whose vehicles comply with the 2012 Historic Formula Ford rules as defined by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS). (ii) All competing cars must be presented in a neat and tidy condition, and show minimal signs of previous damage. (ii) The onus of proof of vehicle eligibility rests with the individual competitor at all times, in accordance with the NCR s. (iii) Any inspections shall be conducted by the chief scrutineer and Formula Ford Association Scrutineer in accordance with the provisions of the FFA Handbook and the CAMS Manual and in regard to the Certificate of Description of the vehicle. (iv) The Formula Ford Eligibility Officer may assist the Chief Scrutineer and his assistants. The Eligibility Officer for the Series shall be Stephen Fryer or as appointed by the FFA. 1.4 SERIES REGISTRATION (i) To be eligible to score points in the Series registration must be received by the organisers before qualifying at the race meeting. This information will enable information concerning historic Formula Ford racing and forthcoming HSRCA events to be forwarded to the competitor. It also enables the competitor to receive sponsorship packages at the race meetings. 1.5 SERIES ORGANISERS (i) The organisers of the Series shall be the HSRCA Registrar, John Pymble and the Formula Ford Association NSW Historic Representative, Jeff Senior. Contact details : John Pymble, email: pymble@isp.net.au, mob 0419 232 616 : Jeff Senior, email: jeff@ff1600.org.au, mob 0412 580 620 or general email admin@formulaford.org.au 1.6 SERIES PERSONNEL (i) Series Round Coordinator The organiser s website is www.hsrca.org.au and www.formulaford.org.au The Series Round Coordinator is a representative of the Formula Ford Association contactable at the circuit during race meetings. The Formula Ford Association shall provide name and contact details of the Series Round Coordinator to the promoter no later than 2 months before the relevant round. These details shall include mobile phone numbers. If not nominated the series organiser s listed above shall the at circuit contacts. (ii) Formula Ford Scrutineer The Formula Ford Scrutineer shall be provided by the FFA to provide assistance to the scrutineers at the circuit, they would be available to carry out duties under the direction of the Chief Scrutineer. (iii) Driving Standards Observer Series Driving Standards Observers (DSO) may be nominated to observe driving standards and act as coach, and are to report incidents as appropriate to the Clerk of Course at each meeting. DSO s may assist the Competitor Relations Officer with discussing a Driver s driving behaviour, without prejudice to any party. 1.7 HSRCA AND FFA RESPONSIBILITIES i) The FFA will actively promote the Series and individual race meetings to encourage competitors to participate. This will include emailing entry forms and other methods to increase the exposure of the series and individual meetings

ii) The FFA will conduct at circuit promotion which may include product giveaways, BBQ s, technical assistance, etc. iii) The FFA will supply, subject to availability, a scrutineer. iv) The HSRCA shall assist in the cost of the scrutineer at HSRCA meetings, to a maximum cost of $150 per round, payable to the FFA. This will be 50% of the gratuity. v) The HSRCA and the FFA to supply Series awards for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd in Fa, Fb and Fc classes. vi) At each round of the Series, the HSRCA is requested to provide 2 passes to be distributed at the Series Organiser s discretion. They are also to provide passes for the DSO s should they be appointed. vii) The HSRCA is to include the FFA scrutineer in the meeting regulations. FFA is required to supply this information within the appropriate timeframe to enable the inclusion in the regulations. 1.8 COMPETITION SCHEDULE (i) The Series will be conducted over three rounds. (ii) The rounds of the Series will be as per the following: Round Date Location Promoter 1 June30/July1 Eastern Creek HSRCA 2 Sept 22-23 Wakefield Park HSRCA 3 Nov 23-25 Eastern Creek HSRCA CHAPTER 2 - RACE MEETINGS 2.1 ROUND ENTRY (i) The promoter of each round shall provide the Series organiser all documentation as soon as they are available. The FFA will distribute the entry details electronically to registered drivers as well as uploading onto the category website. (ii) Preferably the promoter shall place all documentation on their website at least 8 weeks before the event. (iii) Competitors should return the Race Entry Form and all other associated documentation (for example, scrutineering declaration) within the designated time together with the correct payment for entry fees, garage fee, competition fees and practice fees (if applicable) to the Promoter. (iv) Promoters shall issue further regulations and tickets direct to competitors. (v) At each round of the Series, the promoter is requested to provide 2 passes to be distributed at the Series Organiser s discretion. They are also to provide passes for the DSO s should they be appointed.

2.2 COMPETITION NUMBERS (i) The number 1 shall be reserved for the sole use of the outright winner the previous year's Series. (ii) Competitors may otherwise request a competition number from the organiser, which shall be allocated for their use at each round of the Series. (iii) A Driver registered for the Series shall have precedence over a non-registered driver having the same race number. (iv) Number sizes shall be as per the Historic and Formula Ford sections of the CAMS manual 2.3 COMPETITOR CONDUCT & PENALTIES (i) The use or offering of violence or threatening language by any means towards any official or Driver or other person at, arising from, or during the course of any meeting or in the environs of any track used for the meeting shall be deemed as prejudicial to the interests of the Series and to the Competition. Any such incident shall be referred to the Stewards of the Meeting. Any Driver/competitor penalized by the Stewards for the aforementioned misconduct shall, in addition, to any penalties imposed by the stewards shall not be awarded Series points, trophies or sponsorship merchandise for the meeting that the indiscretion took place. 2.4 SERIES DRIVERS CODE OF CONDUCT (i) The Formula Ford Association and the HSRCA wishes to promote safe competition avoiding car-tocar contact. All drivers must familiarise themselves with Section 7 of the Race Meeting Standing Regulations which is located at www.camsmanual.com.au (ii) The following are guidelines that should be adhered to: No weaving on the straight No blocking on the straight No repeated blocking in corners. It is the responsibility of the car performing an overtaking manoeuvre to do so in a safe manner, do not expect the car in front to give way if you are only part way past. Care must be taken when re-entering the track. A report may be given by the Driving Standards Observers to the Clerk of Course notifying the Clerk of Course of any drivers who have not adhered to the provisions of Section 7 or the above guidelines. This report will list drivers involved in any dangerous or unsportsmanlike procedures and will request the Clerk of Course to pay special attention to these drivers.

2.5 QUALIFYING (1) No overtaking is permitting on the out lap, unless either directed to by an official, a car has mechanical problems or a car is signaled to pass by the immediate car ahead. This is provided to enable cars to safely warm tyres up on the out lap without harassment from passing cars, and enable the car to be close to race condition prior to the first flying lap. (2) The vehicles shall be gridded in the dummy grid prior to the qualifying session in the order of the qualifying results from the previous round. If there are drivers entered who did not set a qualifying time at the previous round they shall be gridded at the rear of the field in order of championship points. If no points have been earned they shall be gridded in order of race number. (3). Notwithstanding 2.5(2) above, Formula Ford cars shall be gridded at the front of the grid in order of their qualifying results from the previous round. If no points have been earned they shall be gridded in order of race number. 2.6 GRID POSITIONS FOR COMBINED RACES WITH FORMULA VEE In all races, all the Formula Ford vehicles will be gridded first, followed by two vacant grid rows then the Formula Vee cars, both classes in normal qualifying order (race 1) or previous race finishing order (races 2 and 3) In the event of Track Density being reached, the vacant rows will be deleted, and the Formula Vee vehicle gridding will commence on the next row of the grid. The only exception to the above is for any Formula Ford drivers who qualified slower than the fastest Formula Vee, yet had a set a representative time and no car difficulties in this case, they will be as per their qualifying/race finish position from the previous session, but always relevant to the Formula Vee Category. 2.7 RACES (i) At each respective round, all races count towards the Series. The length of the races may vary in length within the round or Series. 2.8 SCRUTINY (i) A vehicle entered for competition and/or racing apparel may be checked at ANY TIME during a Series race meeting without prior notice being given, at the discretion of the Chief Scrutineers and/or the Stewards and/or the Clerk of Course. This scrutiny shall be, but not limited to, inspections of vehicles in regard to compliance with the CAMS Manual and Certificate of Description for the vehicle. (ii) Components of the car may be impounded for compliance checking. If removal of the particular element of the vehicle is considered inappropriate, the element may be sealed within the vehicle for future inspection. (iii) Should a vehicle with sealed components be presented in the future with either broken or missing seals the components eligibility shall be compromised whether or not the component was subsequently found to be compliant.

2.9 PARC FERME (i) During each race meeting in the Series, cars may be impounded in the designated Parc Ferme and must not be removed for any purpose without the permission of the Technical Commissioner or Chief Scrutineer. Only the driver of the competing car is permitted to accompany the car in the Parc Ferme area. Cars may be weighed at any time. 2.10 POSTPONEMENTS AND FORCE MAJEURE (i) Each promoter reserves the right to postpone, abandon or cancel their round or race, or vary the length or time of the race in consultation with the stewards of the meeting. Any such variations shall be in accordance with the NCR's of CAMS. (ii) If a Meeting/Round is unable to be held due to force majeure an additional Round may be held on an alternative date within 2012 at any circuit at the discretion of the Series Organisers. CHAPTER 3 - AWARDS AND POINTSCORES 3.1 POINTSCORE (i) Points for each race of the Series shall be awarded as follows: 1st 30 points 6th 18 points 11th 10 points 16th 5 points 2nd 26 points 7th 16 points 12th 9 points 17th 4 points 3rd 24 points 8th 14 points 13th 8 points 18th 3 points 4th 22 points 9th 12 points 14th 7 points 19th 2 points 5th 20 points 10th 11 points 15th 6 points 20th 1 point (ii) The Series shall be won by the competitor attaining highest number of points in the rounds scheduled in the Series Sporting Regulations. All rounds count towards the title.. (iii) The Series pointscore shall be used for each class pointscore with the relevant cars collecting the points to twentieth in the class. (iii) In the event of a tie on placings in the Series, awards shall be determined by comparison of the number of first placings gained in the rounds. If then not resolved, comparison of the number of second placings, then third placings etc. Then if after all comparisons are effected and the award is still not determined, the relative placings in the last round, second last round, etc shall be the decider.

3.2 AWARDS (i) The Annual awards shall be for outright position and also to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in classes Fa, Fb and Fc. (ii) A minimum of three (3) cars must compete in the class to be awarded FFA Series trophies. A minimum of two (2) Series rounds must be competed by a driver to be eligible for trophies. (iv) The John Leffler Trophy shall be awarded for first outright calculated on points, disregarding classes, for all races over the Eastern Creek November meeting. CHAPTER 4 TECHNICAL 4.1 GENERAL VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS The vehicle shall comply with the regulations for Historic Formula Ford racing as specified in the 2012 CAMS Manual. 4.2 ENGINE The engine shall comply with the Formula Ford 1600 regulations as specified in the CAMS Manual 4.3 TYRES (i) The chief scrutineer will be a Judge of Fact in relation to any decision relating to a breach of the tyre regulations, either stated in these regulations or the CAMS Manual (ii) The control tyre to be used shall be the Dunlop CR82, as defined in the CAMS Manual or Historic Formula Ford (iii) At the start of any race or timed official practice the depth of tread must be at least 1mm, save that isolated flat spots may not render the tyre ineligible 4.4 RACING WEIGHT i) The minimum racing weight at any time at the end of race or practice shall be as indicated below. ii) The weight shall be as recorded on the scales at the circuit on the day of the meeting. 1969-1979 400kg car only (without fuel) 1980-1983 470kg car and driver 1984-1989 485kg car and driver

4.5 SERIES SPONSORSHIP To score points in the series and receive at circuit sponsorship packages and be eligible for end of Series prizes the competitor must complete and return to the series organiser s the Series Registration form included in these regulations. In addition series stickers shall be applied to racecars and trailers as required by the series organisers and if available, at least 1 team personnel shall wear supplied sponsors branded clothing and use branded umbrellas. It is advised that any driver Driver/competitor penalized by the Stewards shall, in addition, to any penalties imposed by the stewards shall not be awarded Series points, trophies or sponsorship merchandise for the meeting that the indiscretion took place.
