FEBRUARY 2015 PRESIDENT S REPORT Welcome back to all our returning players and a warm welcome to our new players for the 2015 season. This year our Club again has 33 teams competing in the STNA Junior Rosters, Premier League and ANZ Statewide League Rosters. Thank you to the hard work undertaken by so many in selections last year. With such a large Club a lot of hard work is undertaken behind the scenes to prepare for the 2015 season ahead. Many people gave up many weekends leading up to Christmas to ensure teams were ready for 2015. Our ANZ Statewide teams commence their season in February and I encourage everyone to come along and cheer along our girls. Details are in this newsletter. A big congratulations to Alex Vinen who has been granted a TIS Scholarship and to Elise Barwick who is part of the Summer Excellence Program. Both girls have this year stepped up to be selected in the ANZ Under 19 side and we wish them every success with their netball futures. Good luck also to our players who have been selected into the DADA Develop a Diamond Academy and commence training very soon. This is the Pathway to the Under 15 State Team and we wish you every success. Our Board of Management has two vacancies. We are seeking the services of a Sponsorship/Marketing Officer. This is a vital role on our Board and we are hoping somebody out there with this expertise might like to join our team. Also we have a vacancy for a Junior Board member which is a great way for a Junior Player to have a say in the future of their own Club. Our Club is also looking for interested people to join our Junior Sub Committee. Please contact elizabeth_downward@bigpond.com if you are interested in any of the vacancies listed. Please note the dates and information in this Newsletter and remember to visit www.crippswaratahnetball.org.au for the most up to date information. Good luck for a great Season ahead! 2015 ANZ STATE LEAGUE The ANZ State League (formerly known as TNL) season is about to commence with a Gala Weekend on 7th & 8th February at Aurora Sports Stadium. The season will continue for 21 games being played across the State. Our Senior team are the reigning premiers, with our 19's runners-up, and both teams are looking to continue to build on their great 2014 seasons Our Senior team has seen some changes to their line up including that of the Coach as incoming coach Rosalie Navickas steps up to the senior role, Aaron Pidgeon will remain supporting Rosalie throughout the season. Ellie Grace has departed for university in QLD, however stepping up from 19's is Maddi Grace, who will provide court coverage across the mid court. Whilst the defence end has seen Kirra Parsons take a year off and AJ Gough return to the north of the state, our Senior side has recruited well with experienced defender Briana Rimon making a welcome return, teamed with Olivia French who has stepped up from 19's, Jess Parsons and Georgia Downward, our defence look well equipped to rattle the opposition goalies. Our goalies remain unchanged and will definitely look to continue their strength in this area of the court. We encourage all supporters to attend as many matches as possible this season starting next weekend - see the Club website for full details of each round. Juniors on the Move Alex Vinen - Sate league 19s player has been awarded a TIS scholarship and continues to work on developing her game. As a first time player to the 19's this season, we are looking forward to seeing Alex make the transition from juniors to senior competition.
