Lesson 7 of 10 Aims of Session: Breaststroke Legs Equipment Required: Woggles, Armbands/Discs Swivel or Jumping Groups (Teacher led) 2 min Front paddle/back paddle START WITH PUSH & GLIDE Feedback throughout Push as hard as you can on the glide Lie flat Introduction of Breaststroke legs Demonstration by competent swimmer Point out symmetry Feet turning out Attempt leg action in supine position with help of woggles Ensure narrow kick Draw circles with your heels As above in prone position As above Emphasise symmetry Demonstrate arms and ask pupils to attempt whole stroke still using woggle if required Re-cap rotate back front to standing Re-cap blowing bubbles for 5secs rhythmically As flat as stroke will allow Chin in water Long glide, high elbows Scooping action with arms Lead rotation with head Demonstrate rhythmical breathing pattern Small group (Ability grouping, ensuring plenty of room) Safely, check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work

Lesson 8 of 10 Aims of Session: Frontcrawl/Backcrawl Legs Equipment Required: Floats, Armbands/Discs, Tool Box Swivel or Jumping Groups (Teacher led) 2 min Re-cap basic movement, hop, skip, jump, swim prone and supine, literacy Change direction Work in a space Frontcrawl/Backcrawl Legs Flat as you can Long legs floppy feet Re-cap push and glide prone/supine (no floats) Make an arrow/superman (prone) Push tummy up (supine) Rotate back front to standing Rotate front back to standing Front/back paddle Focus on streamline Teacher led games (Refer to Tool Box) Groups Climb out Place hands on side push off from floor, check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work

Lesson 9 of 10 Aims of Session: Front crawl/front Paddle Equipment Required: Floats, Armbands/Discs, Sinkers Encourage jumping in Toes over edge, bend knees when landing CAUTION DEPTH 2 min Re-cap basic movement, hop, skip, jump, swim prone and supine, literacy Move in a space Change direction Change speed Front crawl/front Paddle 5m without aids Push, glide, kick, pull Flat as you can Long legs, point toes Chin on water Stretch arms, pull to centre line, Fingers together Re-cap floating supine/prone, observe partner Groups Submerge and pick up objects and identify coloured hoops/sinkers Pick up red sinker Pick up blue sinker Pick up yellow sinker etc Climb out Place hands on side push off from floor, check all pupils parents have arrived then paper work
