The team scored a total of 155 points. Our top scorers were Austin Banatari, Natalie Anderson, Hannah Spivey, Shawn Phillips and Wen Zhang. Other team members: Daniel Josh Bryant, Israa Saoud, Andrew Campbell, Seth Phillips, and Mackenzie Barber. We would like to thank Mrs. Drisdom, Mr. Miller and Ms. Malcom who came by to show their support. A special thank you goes out to Ms. Sanz, Ms. Castles and Dr. Maffett for volunteering their time to judge. A HUGE thank you also to Chief Douglas for being our question reader for the competition. Chief Douglas did an excellent job! We are looking forward to an amazing season. Our next competition will be on October 18 at GJHS. KHS Welcomes New Staff Member Mr. Barnes joins us from his hometown of Pompano Beach. He teaches English 1 and 2. Corinthian Barnes His favorite quote: Life is a Beautiful Struggle. He is a Florida State graduate. His favorite teams include the Lakers and Dolphins and favorite athletes are Cam Newton and Kobe Bryant. Mr. Barnes volunteers and is a huge fan of Special Olympics. He loves poetry; favorite poem Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson. I am thrilled to be at KHS and look forward to a great year, said Mr. Barnes. Danny Woods of Woods Media Guest Speaker Daniel Woods made a special guest appears in our ITV classes this week. Mr. Woods is an independent Cinematographer and Video Editor. He travels the world filming and editing video projects. He shared his wisdom with Mr. Gash and ITV classes, discussed his career, how students can get into the industry, and also demonstrated video gear he utilizes during his productions. Thank you Mr. Woods for sharing your time with our KHS students! Maddie Dvorak Congrats to Maddie Dvorak! On September 15, Maddie Dvorak won 1st place in the FFA District 5 Farm Bureau speech contest in Dade City. Maddie competed against four other county winners. Congrats to Maddie as she moves to the next round on October 27 in Orlando.
