Rugby Union knockout competition Good luck to the following boys in our St Ed s Rugby Union team, A BIG THANK YOU to Matt Dietrich for giving up his day to coach these boys today and to Lisa Smith who will be the team manager. ARMIDALE DIOCESAN GALA DAY The day started really early, on the double decker bus at 6:20am with all the netball, soccer and football players representing St Edward s. We were heading to Inverell to compete against the other Catholic Schools in the Diocese. The bus ride was very long and tiring, but we got there safe and sound. Under 10 s NETBALL gala day team report Written by hannah briley The under 10 s St Eddie s netball team started the day well winning all the games till lunch. After lunch, we were ready to go to the last game before the semi finals. The competition from all the teams was great and it was good to meet players from Moree, Inverell and Barraba. At the end of the day however THE ST EDWARD'S UNDER 10 S WON THE GALA DAY!!!!! It was a fantastic effort from all of the St Eddie s sport teams and we should all be proud of what we achieved. We even have the trophies to prove it! A big thank you to Mrs Dubois for coaching us and giving up her time throughout the day. opens NETBALL gala day team report Written by mia darcy The Opens Netball team went very well and were lucky enough to be undefeated throughout the day. We played Manilla in the semi-final and won. The grand final was against Inverell, it was a very tight game, at the end we tied! This caused the game to go into extra time. So we had five more minutes to at least score and we scored 2 more points and won only by one point. A big thank you to Mrs Young for coaching us and giving up her time throughout the day and Kate Lane for umpiring us throughout the day. RUGBY LEAGUE GALA DAY team report written by JAICE TIBERI-PORTER We won our first game 18-6, our second game we also won 24-0. Our third game was harder but we still won 24-12. At this point we knew if we won the last game we would have an opportunity to make it to Sydney and win the competition. Our last game was against Holy Trinity it was the hardest game of the day but we still won 30-18. We were undefeated the whole day and won the competition. We are extremely grateful for Mr Lawler coaching us and giving us his time to do so. open SOCCER GALA DAY team report Written by blake hutchison On Monday we had our annual Armidale Diocesan Gala Day. In our age group there was Pool A and Pool B (we were in Pool A). Our team went undefeated throughout the day, only conceding one goal in total. In the Final it was St Ed s vs Inverell Blue and some of the highlights were Brayden scoring a free kick from 35 yards out and myself (Blake) scoring a Hat trick in the final. We won the final and showed great sportsmanship all day. We would also like to thank all the teachers, Mr Morris and parents who gave up their time to supervise and support us. Under 10 s SOCCER GALA DAY team report Written by riley haynes and ella murray On Monday our Under 10 s soccer side played 4 games and won all of them! Our team made it to the grand finals against Armidale, which resulted in 1-1. This lead to a penalty shoot out. Armidale side missed their first attempt, Isaac Fensbo kicked the winning goal for our team. We would like to thank Mr Jones for coaching us throughout the day and giving up his time.
