INTRODUCTION Buffalo City football has a long and proud tradition of excellence. From the day when the first recorded football match was played almost 100 years ago to the momentous formation of a united football governing body in 1991, football in this region has produced many remarkable athletes, created memories deeply etched in the region s consciousness and enthralled spectators in all corners of this neck of the woods and nationally. Together, we share this history and built this game by adding provincial trophies to our cabinets, winning the 1979, 1980, 1981 & 1995 Federation/SAFA Provincial trophies and making our provincial teams not only a household name but also one of the top provincial teams and celebrated Saints FC as Federation s Number 1 club in 1982 when triumphing in the Federation inter-club national competition. The Easter football tournament had humble beginnings at the North End stadium going back to over a100 years when Star of India Football Club introduced the first ever inter-club tournament in East London. Its main aim was to establish a platform to be used to reinforce the struggle for non-racialism in sport and in society. Members were responsible in raising funds to affiliate and the visiting teams were accommodated in classrooms This football event has over the years become inculcated into the lives of our diverse North End football communities, young and old, who would spend their entire Easter weekend at the North End stadium where they would reminisce, enjoy the art of football and quality time with family and friends, develop and strengthen relationships with new friends and families and where the football supporters would identify and adopt their own football heroes and clubs that were outstanding over the entire four days. These athletes would become North End folklore and household names that would remain embedded in the North stadium football legacy. It is an occasion where players and club officials would make personal sacrifices prior to Easter in order to perform at their very best in order to reap the fruits of success. The tournament was synonymous with the exhibition of top amateur football and it is where a lot of players were noticed and enticed to greener pastures. 2015 Easter Football Tournament Package REV 3 3
2016 EL CENTRAL EASTER MESSAGE This year we aim to revive a football culture that is etched in the legacy of our diverse North End football communities for over 50 years and pay tribute to two great men from our communities, the late Cliffie Brown and the late Leon Meyer who died while fighting for the liberation of our people during the apartheid era.. It is a North End tradition that families and friends come in their numbers over this weekend to the North End stadium to watch their favourite football teams and players in action. PROGRAMME Tournament DRAW FRI18.03.16 at 19.00pm at the North End Clubhouse One participant per club shall be invited to attend the draw function. Dress code: Smart Casual Registration Requirements Registration meeting for easter participants shall take place on Friday 25.03.16 at 9am at the North End clubhouse. It shall then be required after this registration meeting that all clubs present their player bulk form together with players cards to the easter tournament competitions committee in the north end administration office at from 10am for verification purpose and bulk form signoff. A copy of the bulk form shall then be kept by the competitions committee. Clubs shall not be able to participate in any fixture match until this requirement is met. FRIDAY 25 TH March 2016 09H00 Tournament Brief shall take place at North End Clubhouse. It is mandatory that all clubs attend 10H00 TO 20H30 FULL PROGRAMME OF GAMES AT NORTH END STADIUM 18H00 PARADE OF ALL DISTRICTS WITH THEIR FLAGS. CLUB TRACKSUITS OR CLUB KIT UNIFORMITY IS COMPULSORY. CLUBS SHALL BE FINED R500 IF FAILING TO COMPLY PAYABLE BEFORE THEIR NEXT FIXTURE. MATCHES SHALL BE FORFEITED UNTIL THIS FINE IS PAID. TOURNAMENT REQUIRMENTS 1. Clubs shall be held liable for the behaviour of their players/officials and supporters. 2. The referees decision is final. 3. A 25 man (excluding manager & coach) signed off squad lists must be handed in to the referees co-ordinator before commencement of first fixture. This squad list cannot be changed for the duration of the event. 4. Clubs failing to submit the required documents before first fixture shall be automatically withdrawn from the tournament. The documents relate to the following: Squad lists Clubs shall forfeit their deposits if they withdraw or are removed from the draw for failing to comply to all requirements. 6. Players cards shall be checked prior to a fixture on the field of play by the officials and respective club management teams. 7. There shall be no grace period allowed for fixtures. 8. No guest players shall be allowed in this event. All players must be properly registered to their clubs/districts. 9. All Clubs shall receive 20 gate accreditations for each day ie: Fri-Mon 03 rd -06 th April 2015. 10. Clubs is liable for their own meals. 11. It is mandatory that districts/clubs participate in the march pass and are properly attired in either club tracksuits or club kit. A R500 penalty shall be impose on those failing to attend the march pass or adhere to this requirement and the fine must be paid before the club s next fixture. TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. 16 Clubs shall participate in this event = 8+4+4+2+2+2+2+ 4 (finals)= 28 fixtures 2. A non-refundable entry fee of R2500.00 per club must be paid on or before the 14.03.16 to confirm participation. 3. The event shall be restricted to LFA and SAB club affiliates. 4. Players cards is compulsory. No student cards or guest players shall be allowed. 5. No players that were registered at Vodacom (or higher level) after 01.03.16 shall be allowed to participate in this event. 6. A bulk squad of 25 players shall be allowed. However only 18 players + manager and coach shall be allowed to participate in a match. 7. The tournament shall be played over a KNOCKOUT BASIS from the first round. The first round winners will qualify to participate in the PLATINUM championship event and the first round losers will play in the GOLD championship event. 8. The PLATIMUN second round losers shall play in the SILVER semi final event and the GOLD second round losers shall play in the bronze semi final event. 9. Matches shall be played over 35 minutes each half. 10. This knockout event shall be played over 35 minutes each half. Should the match end deadlock a penalty shootout (5 kicks each way) shall take place leading to the sudden death shootout. 11. The final shall be played over 35 minutes each half. 12. A player sent off the field of play shall be automatically suspended for one match subject to the severity of the incident. 13. Clubs wishing to appeal must pay an appeal fee in cash of R1000 and submit a letter of appeal to the Easter Nerve Centre within one hour after the said fixture has been concluded. EASTER LEGENDS RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Teams shall be grouped into two groups of 4 teams. 2. Matches to be played over 30 minutes each half. Top two sides from each group shall automatically go through to the semi final stage. If points are the same the following shall be determined in sequence: 1. Goal difference 2. Results against each other. 3. Toss of a coin 3. Semi-finals shall be played on knockout basis over 30 minutes each half. Penalty shootout shall follow if results is deadlock after duration period. 4. Local teams: Players cards is mandatory 5. Visiting team copy of IDs is mandatory. 6. Each club to submit a bulk form of maximum 20 players prior to commencement of fixtures Same rule for appeals shall apply as senior event 7. Rolling substitutions shall be allowed. 8.
