2013 ALSA NORTHWESTERN REGIONAL SHOW October 4-6, 2013 Benton County Fairgrounds, Corvallis, Oregon Show Superintendent: Sean Kutzler (541) 740-7682, email: seankutzler@gmail.com JUDGE: Judie Moser Facility: The show will be held at Benton County Fairgrounds in Corvallis, OR. Directions: The Benton County Fairgrounds are located at 110 SW 53rd Street in Corvallis, Oregon. From Interstate 5, take exit 228 (Corvallis / Oregon State University/Hwy 34) and travel west for about 10 miles to Corvallis. Stay straight and go over the Harrison Blvd bridge and onto Harrison Blvd. Continue for approximately 3 miles to 53rd St. Turn left (South) on 53 rd. The Fairgrounds is approximately 0.25 mile on the right. Arrival: Arrival time for all exhibitors is anytime on Friday (10/4/13) after 2:00 pm until Saturday (10/5/13) before 8:00 pm. Departure: All animals must be removed by Sunday night at 6:00 pm. You are responsible to clean your stalls prior to departure. Deposit manure in designated areas only. Show Schedule: Friday (10/5) 5:00 pm Exhibitors Meeting Youth Judging Saturday (10/5) 8:00 am Exhibitors Meeting Performance Classes (PR, Obstacle, Pack, Driving) Sunday (10/6) 8:00 am Exhibitors Meeting Showmanship (Adult to Jr.), Halter (Non-Breeder, Four Wool Divisions, Group Classes) Refreshments & Entertainment: The Willamette Valley Llama Association (WVLA) will be sponsoring a hospitality table during the entire show for participants and a FREE BBQ dinner both Friday and Saturday night at 6:00 pm with lectures on Camelid Reproduction by Dr. Michelle Kutzler to follow for WVLA members and participants. Registration Requirements: Llamas and Alpacas must be registered with the ILR or ARI. See the ALSA Handbook for exact rules. Copies of the Registration Certificates must be sent with the entry form. All participants in ALSA Regional Championship Shows must be a member of ALSA. See also 2013 general info from the ALSA office. Stalling: All animals will require a stall. Stalls will be preassigned Friday-Sunday. Owners must provide hay, grain, water containers, bedding, and clean-up equipment. There is limited self penning available in the arena @ $20 per pen for the entire show. 12 x12 stalls are also available in the adjacent stalling barn @ $40 per stall for the entire show. If you wish to be stalled next to someone, please combine your stall needs on one person s registration form. We are unable accommodate informal requests. ALSA Regional Championships are Double Point Shows. Top six placings in each class qualify for entry in the ALSA Grand National Show of Champions. New this year: ALL Grand and Reserve Champion awards at Any Regional Championship will apply towards an ALSA Champion or Elite Champion Award. Farm Banners: We will attempt to display banners ringside. Please bring banners to the registration desk upon arrival. Farm Display: A 10 x10 space for a farm display is available for the weekend in the arena adjacent to the ring for $35. Vendor Space: A 10 x10 space is available for the weekend in the arena adjacent to the ring for $35. Advertising: Business card ads are available in the show catalog for $10, ¼ page ad $25, ½ page ad $40, full page $50. These will be black and white ads. If you want us to design your ad, be sure you supply us the information you want included. Ads should be included with registration or emailed to Marilyn (marilynmilton@charter.net) or Dan Milton (dmmilton@charter.net). Health Requirements: Health Certificates are encouraged but not required for this show. Llamas and alpacas traveling into Oregon with their Washington or Idaho owners in personal vehicles for round-trip visits of not more than ninety-six hours duration are exempt from the health certificate and TB/Brucellosis testing. This exemption does not apply during emergency disease conditions declared by the state veterinarian. However, animal owners should check with their state requirements for reentry back into that state. We ask that all animals brought to the show be treated with an appropriate deworming medication within 21 days of the event. Animals will be excluded from the show if obvious health issues are identified.
