1 HLAA Fall Show Information ALSA & ILR Sanctioned Shows, ALSA Fleece Show, Open Alpaca Show, & Open Youth Show October 2, 3, & Marion County Fairgrounds 7300 East Troy Ave. Indianapolis, IN Our Great Judges This year are: ILR-SD: Mary-Jo Miller, ALSA Llama & Performance: Joy Bishop-Forshey, ALSA & Open Alpaca Fleece Walking & Shorn, Open Youth, Open Alpaca, & ILR/ALSA Performance: Deb Yeagle. Fun Classes Offered: Best of Show & Best of Opposite for all three shows, including Fleece shows- All Grand Champions Compete. Dam & Cria Female Llama/ Alpaca shows with her Cria (under 6mo.) at her side. Best Bred and Owned- This Class is for Llamas which have the same owner when bred, birthed, and at time of show. (Female and Male Classes offered) Best over 10 years old and older female and male classes. This is for our older llamas which are sitting at home with nothing to do. They do not have to exhibit in regular classes to show in this class. Can be in this class only if you wish. This is your chance to show how well your stock holds up with age, and that they still have what it takes! Gambler s Choice- Entry fee $5.00. This is a timed obstacle course for Saturday evening that does not follow any rule with ALSA or ILR. Do what you can to get your Llama or Alpaca through the course and complete as many obstacles as you can. A percentage of entry fees will be awarded to class winners. 1 st place wins 75% of pot, 2 nd place wins 25% of pot. Leaping Llama & Llama Limbo- Entry fee $2.00 per class. Will be held on Friday night at 7:00 p. m. A percentage of entry fees will be awarded to class winners. 1 st place wins 75% of pot, 2 nd place wins 25% of pot. See how high they can go and how low they can go! Alpacas and Llamas are welcome to be part of this class. New this year separate class for llama and alpacas (they will not be competing against each other) Open Costume Class- Youth & Adult Classes with prizes for each class. New this year SUB-JR Costume class- this class is for the kids to have fun! They do not need a llama/ alpaca to show in this class, just a costume and a write-up up about them. If they want to have a llama/alpaca with them, they must have an adult in the ring with them, and the llama or alpaca does not have to be dressed up. The kids are what is being judged, not the animal in this class. The Sub-Jr students will get to show in 3 classes for $10. (Showmanship, Obstacle, and Costume Classes) Saturday Evening Pitch-in-Dinner! HLAA will provide the entrée. All exhibitors please bring your favorite dish to share. We are putting it in a different place this year so we can make it warm or cool as needed. New this year Silent Auction- This will be during the show day. This is to help our Youth Scholarship program. Please bring Items for both Auctions. Live Auction- support our Youth scholarship fund. Please bring an item to donate to the auction and money to buy the great stuff Saturday night after the dinner. Page 1
