This is BAFTA s 2nd Annual Horse Show, and if you ve never shown before and want to try, now is a good time to start. Feel free to contact any BAFTA board member and let us answer questions you may have. This Show will be judged by the rules of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association (please refer to the MFTHBA Rule Book and Show Rules). This is a Point Show for Missouri Fox Trotters and will be judged by the rules of MFTHBA. Sponsorships Are Welcome & Appreciated Please help support our Show by your most appreciated sponsorship(s). Each $25.00 sponsorship (or any amount) will help BAFTA defray show costs (awards, facilities, etc.) and enable our Club to provide other events for our Membership! Awards Show Ribbons will be presented to 1 st through 5 th places, with additional awards presented to winners of Championship Classes. 2

No Entries accepted by after May 7th. Paddock Fees are $25/stall Must be received with Entry to reserve No first bedding. Arrivals prior to Fri. May 10 th must be arranged w/show Manager. 5 Class Information and Explanation MFT: All classes labeled MFT are Missouri Fox Trotter classes only all participants must be Missouri Fox Trotters. OGB: All classes labeled OGB are open to any participant showing any registered breed of gaited horse, including Missouri Fox Trotters. Novice Amateur Rider: The rider has won less than 3 blue ribbons in a MFTHBA pointed show prior to current year. OGB Walk and Equitation Youth 14 and Under: This class is to support new coming youths and is open to all gaited breeds. The rider will enter at the flat foot walk, down to a trail walk, back to a flat foot walk, halt, reverse at a flat foot walk, down to a trail walk and line up. Lead Line Rider 7 and Under: Rider s horse will be led, by hand, by 1 handler a second person may walk beside the rider for additional support. Riding with Helmets: State & local laws may require the use of Helmets for Youth riders 18 and younger. National Points: All classes underlined on the class list are eligible for national point recognition with the MFTHBA. You must be a current MFTHBA member in good standing, participate on a registered MFT and provide BAFTA with your MFTHBA membership number in order for your points to be recorded. Tips and Reminders Western Pleasure: No ribbons, no cavason/noseband. Rider must wear a western type hat. Rider must ride one handed, unless specified by the MFTHBA Rule Book. For specific attire, tack and handling guidelines, please refer to the official MFTHBA Rule Book. Country Pleasure: No ribbons, no cavason/noseband. Rider may ride 1 handed or two handed. 6 Show Rules: The Missouri Fox Trotting Breed Association (MFTHBA) Show Rules will be followed. If you do not have copy of the MFTHBA rulebook, contact MFTHBA at or visit their website at MFTHBA.com. Since most of our classes are eligible for MFTHBA National Points, all classes will be judged under MFTHBA rules. These rules do not cover every situation. In cases where there is no specific rule, decisions are left to the discretion of the Show Management. Standards for judging and requirements for tack, show apparel, etc., are not the same for all classes. Make sure you review the rules and understand the specific rules for the classes you are entering. Don t get marked down for not knowing the rules for your classes! The California Department of Food and Agriculture requires that exhibitors declare all drugs and medications in use at the show or within 72 hours preceding the show. MFTHBA Points: This BAFTA show is eligible for MFTHBA s National Point Competition. Pointed classes are indicated on the class schedule. To be eligible, you must show in a minimum of 3 pointed shows and both the owner and exhibitor must be MFTHBA members in good standing. If you are competing in Amateur classes and would like MFTHBA points, include a copy of your Amateur Card with your entry. BAFTA Points: See the BAFTA website for more information on BAFTA s hight point program for 2013: All Owners and Exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them or their agents to barns or other Livermore Rodeo Grounds properties on the Show Grounds and will be billed accordingly. Show Management reserves the right to refuse or accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition or entries, cancel award prizes and to cancel, consolidate or split classes without claim for damages. Be sure to sponsor a class! Sponsors help support the show and secure more shows in the upcoming years! 6

7 Refunds will be given if written notice is received by the Show Manager before the closing of entries. Exhibitors scratching their horse for any reason AFTER the official closing date shall forfeit all entry, stall and association fees UNLESS a valid Veterinarian s or Doctor s certificate of disability for entered horse/rider is submitted to the Show Manager prior to the first event of the horse show. If illness or injury after the start of the Show should prevent exhibitor s participation in the balance of entered classes, a refund of unused class fees will be made, providing the balance of classes are officially scratched and a doctor s certificate is provided with 48 hours of the close of the show. STALL AND ASSOCIATION FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. ADDS & Scratches. If classes are scratched through the horse show office after the closing date and prior to the start of the Show, entry fees will be refunded. STALL AND ASSOCIATION FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. An OPEN CHECK must be on file with the Office Manager to cover additional entry fees and other incidentals. Don t Miss Our Second Horse Show of 2013!
