9 SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS The Mid-States Horse and Pony Show will be governed by the current rules of the following: USDA American Hackney Horse Society Iowa Horse Show Association Tri-State Horse Show Association MID-AMERICA Horse Show Association REGISTRATION PAPERS To receive points for the AHSA & qualify for Louisville, American Saddlebred horses must have their registration # s on the entry blank. Hackney ponies must be registered with the AHHS and have their fees paid in order to show. Ponies must be entered under their full registered name and in the name of the owner of record. Please, bring a copy of registration papers to the show. BEDDING All bedding must be purchased from Iowa Equestrian Center. Please order bedding with your entries. A minimum of two bags per horse must be ordered with entries. Shavings will be delivered to stalls prior to arrival. CAMPING Camping will be $30.00 per night. Please, check in at the Horse Show office or with one of the Equestrian Center Workers. Camping spots have electric. Please, pay your camping fees before you leave the show. ENTRIES CLOSE July 1, 2018 Fees must accompany entries. Post entries will be accepted with a late fee of $10.00 per animal and close 1 hour before the session starts. Entry Fees must be paid before the session begins. STABLING Stalls will not be reserved without payment and must be paid with the entry fees. Only one animal is allowed per stall. An exhibitor may not use an unused stall of another exhibitor. No jump outs will be allowed. ARRIVAL Horses/ponies will not be allowed in the barns before 8:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 12, Horses arriving prior to Thurs. July 12, need to contact Sue Kinsinger. Early arrival fee is $15.00 per stall if arriving before 8:00 on Thursday. 17. STAKE CLASSES To be eligible, all horses and ponies must have shown in and been judged in a class in their division. CLASS CANCELLATIONS The Mid-States Show Management reserves the right to cancel or split classes. CLASS CALLS Two minutes will be allowed after the first horse has entered the ring before the gate is closed. Every effort will be made to keep the barn totally aware of what is happening in the show ring. Class holds will be held to a minimum. 18.

10 UPHA CHALLENGE CUP EQUITATION Riders must be a junior member of the UPHA. Membership dues are $20.00 and each rider must sign and pay their membership dues, in order, to participate in a UPHA Challenge Cup class, and for their ride to qualify them for the UPHA Championship. SADDLE & BRIDLE MAGAZINE S PLEASURE MEDALLION Open to all Saddle Seat Pleasure Equitation riders who have not reached their 18 th birthday. Riding an ASB Pleasure or Country Pleasure Horse. The winner is eligible to compete at the St. Louis Charity Horse Show. The winner is eliminated from further competition in qualifying classes this season. AHHS YOUTH MEDALLION Open to exhibitors who have not reached their 18 th birthday. Exhibitors can qualify with only one pony, but ponies may qualify with unlimited numbers of exhibitors. Exhibitors must be a member of the American Hackney Horse Society. YOUTH OPEN PLEASURE DRIVING Youth may be accompanied by an adult. Open Training Classes. Open, Walk, Trot, & Canter Full Bridle Optional Any age horse. 19. UPHA CLASSICS A non-refundable eligibility fee of $100 paid to the UPHA Office postmarked on or before April 1st of each year. After April 1st, the eligibility fee becomes $150 per horse. Payment of the eligibility fee will be made payable to UPHA, Inc. in the name of the entered horse or pony and will make that animal eligible to compete in any and all UPHA Classics classes held that year. Eligibility remains with the animal throughout the year should transfer of ownership occur. Eligibility Fees collected will be used as prize money in the UPHA Classic Grand Championships. The entry fee for eh qualifying class is $100 and is made in two payments. The first payment, the declaration fee, is $50 and must be made by the entry closing date of the particular horse show. The second payment, the starting fee, is also $50 and is due 24 hours prior to the class, whenever practical. All entry fees, or partial entry fees, are added to the total purse of the class ACADEMY RIDER DIVISION Horses in this division must be used regularly as lesson horses in an Academy riding program. Academy exhibitors are ineligible for any other saddle class in this horse show. No coats or hats are permitted. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR IS REQUIRED. Jodphur pants and boots are required. PRELIMINARY AND CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES WILL BE LIMITED TO SIX ENTRIES. Entries must be made by 6:00 on Friday evening. The show secretary will post splits one half hour before the Saturday morning session. Ages of riders must be listed on the back of the entry blank. These ages will be used to split classes. Please, be aware of when your riders show, so that, we do not end up with more than six in a class. 20..
