ADMISSION AND DEPARTURE OF HORSES Admission: Horses will be admitted to the grounds at 12:01 am, Tuesday, April 24, Horses requiring admittance before Tuesday are subject to a $30 per horse, per day fee. Departure: All stalls must be vacated by noon on Sunday, April 29, An additional fee of $30 will be assessed for each stall, occupied at noon Sunday, April 30, The Ohio Expo Commission reserves the right to take stall counts by a video camera or by manual count. Count may be taken any time during the show. ADULT AMATEUR DRIVING CHALLENGE (AADC): The purpose of this program is to promote the showing of Hackney ponies, by adult amateur exhibitors at regional shows in a designated area. For additional information on eligibility, rules and forms please visit Amateur Hackney classes are open to all amateurs. AMERICAN SADDLEBRED MEMBERSHIP: Please include your membership numbers on the entry blank and enclose a copy of your membership card with your entries. Show results will be forwarded to ASHA within 10 days of the show. AMERICAN HACKNEY HORSE SOCIETY: Exhibitors in the AHHS Youth Medallion classes must be members of the AHHS. Exhibitors in the Adult Driving Challenge classes must also be members of the AHHS. Please include your membership number on the entry blank and enclose a copy of your membership card ASSOCIATION FEES: Money for any/all association membership fees (i.e. ASHA. AHHS, UPHA) must be payable to the association by using a separate check for each association.

4 BOX STALLS/TACK STALLS $130 ONLY WHOLE STALLS MAY BE ORDERED AND PAID FOR ON THE ENTRY FORM. DO NOT SPLIT TACK STALL FEES. Stalls may not be sold or given away; any stall transaction must go through the Horse Show Office. Damage to stalls is at owner s expense. Please do not use nails, screws, stables, tape. Drilling is also prohibited. All stall decorations must be removed prior to departure from the grounds. Stabling is the sole discretion of Show Management. Considerations include, but are not limited to the following, nor are they necessarily in the following order: number of total stalls requested and paid for, history of attendance, history at a particular location, support of the show (which includes personal time, attendance/exhibition of horses and financial contribution). BOX SEATING: A limited number of seats are available for $25 per seat. Boxes are comprised of seats. Please order this item on the entry blank. CAMPING: Camping spaces are available at a charge determined by the Ohio Expo Center. Some spaces are full hookup. Fees are payable at the entrance of the Ohio Expo Center. Tow vehicles used to enter and leave the Expositions grounds are required to purchase a parking permit in addition to paying camping fees. Any horse trailer, utilizing water, electric and/or being used for camping purposes will be assessed a daily camping fee. CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL NOT BE STRIPPED. Please see class descriptions for qualifying classes. CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: No check-outs will be done on Saturday, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Management respectfully requests you allow us to prepare for the show during this time. Trainer and/or exhibitors who check out before Saturday at 12:00 noon will be entered into a drawing for $100. Prize will be presented during the Saturday evening performance. Must be present to win. CHANGES/SCRATCHES: All changes & scratches must be completed two hours before the start of each session. Entries added during a session will be charged at double the entry fee. Failure to scratch at least one (2) hours prior to the start of the performance which the horse is entered may subject exhibitor to a penalty of $50. All classes, including championships and stakes, entered will be charged to exhibitor s invoice. CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS Management reserves the right to combine or cancel any class having less than (3) entries. Management reserves the right to change or alter the officials listed without prior notice to or during the show. CLASS CALLS/GATE HOLDS: Every effort will be made to maintain a working PA system. However, due to unforeseen problems, with any mechanical device, the PA system and paddock calls must be considered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. A two (2) minute gate rule will be strictly enforced. The ingate will be closed two (2) minutes after the first horse enters the ring. COGGINS PAPERS. All out of state horses must have a current negative Coggins Test dated within six (6) months of the first day of the show, before entering the showgrounds. Health Certificates for all out of state horses may be inspected. CREDIT CARDS: MasterCard, Visa or American Express may be used for payment of fees. A one-time $10 processing fee will be charged to all credit card accounts. DAMAGE: The OEC holds individuals, owners and exhibitors responsible for damages, incurred by them, or their agents, to barns or other properties on the show grounds and may bill them accordingly. The River Ridge Charity Horse Show will in no way be responsible for any loss/damage that may occur. The show management will not be responsible or liable for injuries sustained in any way to exhibitors, spectators, employees or other interested parties. DOGS: Dogs will not be permitted loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash or otherwise contained. Stable dogs must be confined to tack rooms or crated. Dog owners, failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty. Dogs are not permitted in the Coliseum, unless designated as a service dog. DELIVERIES: Items MUST be shipped to you at the following address: (your name/business), River Ridge Charity Horse Show, Gilligan Complex, 717 E. 17 th Avenue, Columbus, OH UPS is the recommended shipper for deliveries to the show. River Ridge will not responsible for items delivered to the fairgrounds/ohio Expositions Center.

6 ENTRIES: Pre-entries close April 13, Entries postmarked after the closing date will be considered late entries and will be assessed a $25 per horse late fee. Entries must be on a River Ridge Charity Horse Show form signed by the exhibitor, rider, driver, handler, and trainer or his/her agent(s). In the case the exhibitor, rider, driver or handler is under the age of 18, his/her parent or guardian, if not available, the trainer, must sign an entry blank on the minor s behalf. Entries may also be made on-line via All fees are stated in US currency. MasterCard, Visa or American Express may be used for payment of fees. A one-time $10 processing fee will be applied to all credit card accounts. All accounts must have a signed open check or credit card on file before entry numbers will be handed out. REMINDER: Stalls will not be reserved unless paid in full. A SIGNED OPEN CHECK OR CREDIT CARD may be left in the office for payment of your account. The horse show office will not be open on Sunday morning following the show. GOLF CART RENTAL. River Ridge does not rent golf carts. Golf cart rentals are handled thru Expo Services at (614) HOLDS: There will be no holds. MASTER CLASSES: are open to amateurs who are age 50 and older. MEASUREMENT TIMES (Courtesy Measurement): The show will arrange for the Steward to conduct measurements as requested. MOS JUDGING: The majority opinion, three judge scoring system (MOS-UPHA Rules) will be used for all American Saddlebred, Equitation, Hackney, Friesian, Parade and Open divisions. MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competition. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardians(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian or a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of his rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Hover boards, skateboards and bicycles are not to be ridden in the horse stabling area. MORGAN HORSES: May cross enter as long as they meet all criteria of the division. NOVICE/LIMIT RIDER/HORSE CLASSES: Maiden/Novice/Limit rider/driver classes are open to riders/drivers who have not won one/three/six first place ribbons, respectively, at Regular and Local Competitions in any under saddle/driving class of any breed and/or discipline. First place ribbons won by a rider in any under saddle class does not affect the status of a driver in any driving class. First place ribbons won by a driver in any driving class do not affect the status of a rider in any under saddle class. Please be aware that entries in these classes are subject to verification of status. OHIO OWNED CLASSES: Horses must be owned by an Ohio resident 90 days prior to the River Ridge Charity Horse Show commencement on April 25, Horses may be stabled out of state. Equitation classes have 8 ribbons. PRIZE MONEY: Prize money will be paid by an e-check and will be mailed to your inbox within 30 days of closing of the show. Checks for prize money becomes non-negotiable after 60 days and are considered a contribution to the show. Show management will NOT attempt to obtain e- mail addresses that are not complete, illegible or incorrect on entry blanks.

8 PARKING: There will be a charge on every vehicle entering the fairgrounds. A permit sticker for four days, five days or longer may be purchased at the gate. TRAILERS OR VEHICLES may be parked on the West Side of the Stalling Area (west of the complex) and BEHIND THE FACILITY The lined parking spaces (LOADING ZONES) are to be used for loading and unloading, they are not for general parking. Trailers are not to be parked south of the Coliseum. (Giant Slide Area) As soon as possible after unloading, you must remove your vehicles from the loading zones. Overnight parking is not permitted in the stabling area for transport vehicles. PRE BEDDING of stalls and stall mats are available exclusively by Kuhlwein Feed & Bedding. Contact Chad Kuhlwein at (614) PHOTOGRAPHY: Howard Schatzberg Photography is the exclusive photographer for the River Ridge Horse Show. Any other photography taken, for commercial or advertising purposes, of subjects within the show ring, without prior written consent of Show Management is expressly forbidden. Violation of this rule will be grounds for removal from the show grounds. Individuals are permitted to take photographs for personal use and/or editorial use: however, the sale of said photographs is prohibited. Personal photographs may not be taken from ringside or the seating areas. RETURNED CHECK FEES: A penalty of $200 will be charged for all returned checks. Cash or certified funds must replace returned checks. RIDER S AGE: For Horse Show Office purposes, please be sure to show age of rider, as of 12/01/2017 on entry form. SHARPS: Sharp containers are provided in convenient locations throughout the barn for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments. Show management may fine any individuals, including trainers, owners, exhibitors or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles and other sharp disposable instruments. SHOW RING FOOTING - Footing is comprised of sand, loam and wood shavings with a dirt base. Schooling before the show Tuesday from 7 am to 6 pm and then under the lights from 7 pm to 10 pm. During the show, ring will be open between sessions until 1 hour prior to each session. SHOW RING SIZE: 112 x 225 Covered warm up ring 100 x 200. STALLS are permanent (vinyl & steel) 10 x 10 with doors. For English classes either hunt or saddle seat equipment must be used. Show clothes are optional and, if used, should match the style of riding, but a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and boots with a heel are required as a minimum regardless of style of riding. No training tack allowed in any class. Riders/horses may cross enter into other classes at the show, but all applicable fees and membership requirements apply. No prize money will be paid. Horses will be asked to flat walk, perform the medium gait and canter both ways of the ring in each class. Horses must give the distinct appearance of being a pleasure to ride and display a pleasurable attitude. To be judged on manners, performance, quality, presence and conformation. Nominating fees must be paid to UPHA by April 1, A declaration fee of $50 is due by the closing date of April 1, 2018 with your entries. A showing fee is payable twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled ic. ic fees are non-refundable in all situations. If April Nomination Fee has not been paid, a $150 Nomination Fee must be paid to UPHA in addition to the entry fee along with an UPHA membership fees. Prize money is divided according to the rules set by the UPHA.
