Stalls may also be purchased as farm display spaces for $40.00 per stall however stall fronts cannot be removed. Barn aisles must be kept open at all times to permit dust control. If you are bringing a single animal and need a stalling companion, you may contact Glenna Overmiller for any stalling information. Facility Policy on Dogs: The show superintendent must be notified if you are planning on bringing a dog to Grand Nationals. There will be no dogs allowed in the arena area. Bedding All stall floors are concrete. There will be no bedding provided. You will need to bring your own mats or carpeting. You may bring cardboard, Equine Fresh Pellets, and straw. Shredded Paper is NOT allowed. Grooming There are wash racks. Blowing may be done in the building but away from the stalling area and only in those designated areas. Water & Electric Both water and electric are available in the barns. Exhibitors are responsible for bringing their own extension cords. Qualifying for 2016 Grand National See 20th Edition of ALSA Handbook-Part F, Section 2: Qualifying. Performance Classes In response to comments and suggestions from exhibitors, there will be some changes to how the performance classes are run this year to make it a more enjoyable experience, especially for youth exhibitors. Driving and all Pack Classes will be on Friday and all Obstacle and Public Relations classes will be on Saturday. This will split the youth performance classes over two days and reduce the number of obstacles exhibitors have to try to remember each day. The Obstacle and Public Relations courses will run simultaneously and each exhibitor may choose in which order to complete them. Performance walk-thrus will take priority over other classes and courses held open as necessary to ensure no exhibitor misses a class. Halter Classes Each llama must be entered in its appropriate age and wool division at the time of the ALSA Grand National, regardless of the age or wool division in which you initially qualified. On a llama s date of birth, the llama moves up to the older class. All four wool divisions will be included in the ALSA Grand National Show. If you qualified at a show where wool divisions were combined (e.g., Light/Medium or Medium/Heavy), you must choose the correct wool division for the ALSA Grand Nationals.

5 The Alpaca Halter will be conducted as a Level I Show. It is again being offered as a non-qualifying show, (Alpaca Performance still must qualify for the appropriate classes). Please review Part K of the ALSA Handbook for rules relating to Alpaca Halter Classes and contact the Grand National Committee if you have any questions. For Get of Sire and Produce of Dam, please make your entry in the Dam or Sire s name on your entry form and send a copy of their ILR/AOA Certificate. Youth Information We will be offering a challenge once again this year to the youth and their 4H Leaders! If this challenge is met, we will give each of our youth exhibitors that are entered in 5 youth classes, (i.e. Youth Showmanship, Youth Judging, Youth Obstacles, Youth Public Relations, and Youth Pack) a $25.00 Refund. An Example of this: A youth enters the 5 youth classes named above. This is counted as one entry. If the same youth enters again with an Alpaca for the three youth alpaca performance classes (since they cannot enter Youth Showmanship or Youth Judging a second time), this is also counted as another entry. This example could be reversed. So in other words, this youth would be entered in 8 classes and be counted as two entries, but he/she will only be eligible for the $25.00 refund once. Premiums will be awarded to the Youth. Sub Junior and Special Needs Classes Sub Junior and Special Need classes are available at the ALSA Grand National Show at no cost to the exhibitors. The classes available are Obstacle and Showmanship. When entering Special Needs classes be sure to send the Exhibitors with Disabilities ALSA Form, found on the ALSA website, with your entry information. Vendors Vendors are welcome. Those interested in becoming a vendor should contact the ALSA office for information. Youth Silent Auction and Raffle There will be a youth silent auction benefiting the ALSA Youth Scholarship Fund. There will also be raffle items going toward the 2016 ALSA Grand Nationals. Tickets for the raffle may be purchased at the ALSA Show Office. Please bring your donated items to the show or mail in advance to the ALSA office. Trick or Treat Costume This year there will not be Costume Classes, but Costumes are welcome on Friday evening, October 27, We will be having a Trick or Treat Party in the barn area Details will follow! Join in the fun! ALSA Evening Meal There will be a Saturday October 29, 2016 evening meal. There is a $15.00 charge per person for the meal, reservations/tickets required.
