THIS COULD BE YOUR LAST ISSUE OF "CAR GUY NEWS" IF YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS NOT CURRENT It's time to pay your 2017 dues. Deadline March 31, 2017 ************************************ PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Well gang, it's that time of the year again. The snow is going, going, gone. Temperatures are getting warmer and the days are becoming longer. There is anticipation in the air. YES...Spring is upon us. Dust off your rides, or maybe like most of us, work long hours to finish your project so we can get it to our first event. Whatever it may be, it is an exciting time of the year for all Car Guys and Gals. We have a lot of exciting events in the works. Cruise for the Troops at Main Street Exton. TDC has been invited to participate in the 4th of July Parade in Philadelphia. A new date for Drive Out Hunger is September 9th. And the Spooktacular Halloween Show on October 28th with Harley Davidson of Chester Springs. We are trying to put together a trip for 3 Dog Garage and Boyertown Museum. More information to follow. Stay tuned for a full schedule coming your way. Just a thought... Cars are made to be driven, not stored or trailered, so turn the key and burn some rubber. Thanks for listening, Joe O'Fria, President ***************************************** - April 4, 2017 Chester County Food Bank 650 Pennsylvania Dr., Exton, PA 19341 (just off Rt. 100 in the Eagleview Business Park) *****************************************

BANQUET AT McKENZIE's On March 18 Top Dead Center held their annual banquet at McKenzie's Brew House in Malvern. This year the club had the lower level where we had a private bar, two pool tables and a shuffleboard. There were thirty-one members in attendance and even though it was misty and dreary outside we all enjoyed the chance to just sit, relax and listen to some CD's Joe brought. Oldies, but goodies. The variety of food on the banquet table was quite a spread. Various appetizers, salads, carved roast beef, turkey and Tilapia served with mashed potatoes, pasta with creamy pesto sauce and mixed vegetables. And then came the dessert table with trays of cookies, lemon squares, brownies and cannoli. The cruise season is about to begin. Bringing our cars/trucks - classic and antique out from under the covers and out on the road. In a couple of months, May 7th to be exact, we can all relax again at Warwick Park for our annual rally and picnic. THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY "Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question. What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?" Marcus Aurelius "You can't understand someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Author has been lost in history

Happy Birthday/Anniversary wishes were conveyed to all members for the months of March. The February Minutes were read, accepted and approved.. Joe O'Fria began the meeting by bringing everyone up-to-date on Caryn Abdill's condition. Caryn is making progress with her therapy and she is resting comfortably. Members were reminded to pay their 2017 dues. TDC will have their meetings at the Chester County Food Bank through April, when the weather becomes more seasonable. May through September the club will meet back at Chester Springs Harley-Davidson. Starting in October, during the colder months we will be back to the Food Bank.

The officers felt it would be nice during our time at the Food Bank that maybe each member bring an item: tuna fish, peanut butter, jelly, cup-a-soups, spaghetti or sauce, canned soups, etc., as a "thank you" for allowing us to have our meetings here. Reminder: Picnic and Road Rally will be held May 7th at Warwick Park. Further information to follow. The members unanimously elected Ernie to set up the rally. Pete Schroeder is working on getting sponsors to advertise on the back of the "Cruise for the Troops" t-shirts. It was decided that any money the club made on selling the t-shirts would be donated to Terry and Caryn Abdill to help cover some of their medical expenses. Please notice that our date has changed for "Drive Out Hunger" show. It will be held in September. The Officers felt we may draw a larger crowd since the children were back in school and most vacations were over. Pete suggested that we ask the school to do a food drive at the same time. Window Cards: If you ordered a window card and cannot attend a meeting to pick it up, please come to one of " " to do so. They will not be mailed. "Caddy" went over the menu for the banquet at McKenzie's. There are two (2) pool tables and a shuffle board. The advertisement on the back of our " " flyer is filled and as soon as the art work is prepared they will go to the printer. Hopefully ready for our April meeting. We will then be working on the advertisements for "Drive Out Hunger" flyer. Advanced Auto has shown interest in being a Sponsor for TDC. Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is opening on Rt. 202 and Rt. 926 in West Chester. It is an old fashioned hamburger joint. We will try to do a "Cruise To" after they open. The meeting was adjourned. Snacks were brought by Gerry. Joseph collected dues, Gerry sold 50/50 and "Caddy" sold TDC Club apparel.
