President s Corner: 2017 Board Members President: Jan Bjorke President s Message! July is here and we are in full Golf Mode! Our July tournament is the 15 th and the Battle for the Sexes is July 25 th. Hope we have a great turnout for both events. The Sign-up sheet for the Battle of the Sexes is on the bulletin board or you can email me. Last month I reminded everyone to play Ready Golf! Remember, your round should take about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. If you are a walker and find that your rounds are exceeding 4 ½ hours, maybe you should consider walking the front and riding the back to speed up your play. Please try to keep practicing our other tips to speed up play. Our annual Women s Club Invitational is just around the corner too. It is August 29 th. If you want to play, but haven t found a partner yet, contact Kay Keating or me. We will try to find a partner for you! Jan Happy golfing! Membership: No new news to report Tournaments: McCormick Woods Women s Open Invitational Tournament August 29, 2017 Don t miss out on this very fun day! Find a partner and send in your tournament registration as soon as possible. If early registrations are any indication at all, there is a lot of interest among members and non-members alike. The field is limited to 120 players. There are two easy ways members can contribute to the success of the event: (1) Sign up with Margo Devones, Brunch Chairperson, to supply a homemade brunch item. (2) Donate a raffle basket with a retail value of at least $50.00(or collaborate with another member to put together a basket.) The raffle is a very popular feature of the tournament and proceeds go towards payouts, tee prizes and other expenses. Last year 15 members contributed a variety of wonderful baskets. If you are willing to make a basket or need ideas for one, please get in touch with Kay Keating as soon as possible.
