Michael Whitney s Welcome Welcome to the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club sponsorship brochure. In the club s 15 seasons we have been consistently performing among the Top 10 clubs in the Sydney Grade competition. Our 1 st to Metro Cup, u21 and u16 teams have been performing well on the field filling our trophy cabinet with 14 Premierships and 2 Club Championships. The Randy Petes are proud to contribute to Australian and NSW cricket through the production of Test cricketers Simon Katich, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Hauritz and, more recently Australian Test Vice Captain and World Cup Champion, David Warner. The success of the Randy Petes is not only highlighted through our on-field successes but through our strong volunteer base which has successfully organised: Ladies and Legends Day (annual event) Over years we have raised over $6000 for a variety of charities including McGrath Foundation and Sydney Children s Hospital Palliative Care Unit and more recently Bears of Hope and Soldier On. New Balance Community Cricket Week (Feb 2015) providing a final training camp and 50 over warm up match for the 2015 Cricket Ireland World Cup squad and coaching for over 60 local primary school students The volunteers, coaches and players are dedicated and strive to uphold the Spirit of Cricket which intrinsically links to our motto TRUST RESPECT HUMILITY. Why sponsor the Randy Petes? THE CLUB The Randwick Petersham Cricket Club has a rich history incorporating our Foundation Clubs Randwick, Petersham, Marrickville and Petersham- Marrickville. With a combined history of 258 playing years the Randy Petes are one of the newest and oldest clubs in Sydney Grade history and have produced 18 Test Cricketers and 79 First Class Cricketers for NSW. Our geographic footprint covers Sydney s Eastern Suburbs and the Inner West. The biggest club by geographic area in Sydney Grade. Our teams are competitive and our success is evident through 13 premierships and 2 Club Champions in 15 seasons as well as Australian and NSWrepresentatives. MEMBERS, PLAYERS & LEGENDS The club field 9 teams in the Sydney Grade, Sydney Metropolitan and Sydney Masters competitions a total playing group exceeding 120 as well as their family and friends. The Randwick Petersham Legends Society provides former players and player s families to stay connected with club mates and cracked the 100 member mark in 2014-15 and 2015-16. CRICKET IRELAND TESTIMONIALS The team and management are indebted to you all for making them feel so welcome, bending over backwards to support their needs, and for organising such atremendous week ahead of the world cup. 1 st 6 th Between and February 2015 Randwick Petersham Cricket hosted the New Balance Community Cricket Week in conjunction with hosting the 2015 Cricket Ireland World Cup squad at Coogee Oval prior to the ICC 2015 Cricket World Cup. The successful week included: A local Primary schools coaching clinic for over 60 boys and girls A Civic Reception for Cricket Ireland Intensive nets and centre wicket training at Coogee Oval A 50 over warm up match between a Randwick Petersham XI and Cricket Ireland Whilst I shall say little over your wonderful victory (we know we need to be better than that!), the players have had great preparation ahead of next week when it gets that much more serious, and we could not have done it without your commitment and hard work. The players felt they lived in Ireland (apart from the weather!) by the time they left with somany locals supporting them. We really are so grateful to you all for your efforts and please pass on our thanks to the club and all the volunteers who supported us so well.
