K-State Research and Extension is an equal opportunity provider and employer. Rules: 1. Entries are due May 25, 2016 to Denise King, 32415 W. 95 th St, De Soto, Kansas 66018. Make checks payable to Johnson County 4-H Livestock Club. 2. Entry fee is $10.00 per head to be shown, except for Showmanship, which is no charge with an entry in prospect or breeding. Late entries are $20.00 per head. Sign-ups for additional breeding and/or prospect classes after the May 25, 2016 deadline will be accepted as late entries. Cash only accepted for late entries. 3. Entry fee is to defray expenses of the show. No refunds. 4. Judges decision will be final. 5. Animals shown in the market classes are not eligible to show in the breeding classes and vice versa. 6. Everyone must check in at the registration table prior to weighing lambs and/or goats. This includes in-county, out of county, breeding and prospect entries 7. Prior to entering the fairgrounds for Saturday s Spring Show, all lambs must be shorn to one quarter inch to the hock prior to check in. Wool on the face and below the hock is allowed. No coats will be allowed at check in. Check in classification will be final. 8. Showmanship classes will be determined by age as of Jan. 1, 2016 (4-H age) a. Senior- 14-18 b. Intermediate- 10-13 c. Junior- 7-9

9. es for the sheep show will be determined by breed type (Dorset, Hampshire, Suffolk, Cross, Natural Color, Speckled Face and AOB) and specified/classified by committee at check in. If there are less than four animals in a breed class, they will be transferred into an AOB class. All breeding ewe lambs will be weighed. 10. Prospect lambs may be ewes or wethers. 11. Weigh-in on Friday evening June 3, 2016, will be from 5:00PM-7:30PM and is reserved for animals not showing in the spring show. Weigh-in on Saturday will be from 8-9 AM for sheep and 7-8:00 AM for goats. Any lambs entering the fairgrounds on Saturday must be shorn to one quarter inch to the hock prior to check in. Wool on the face and below the hock is allowed. 12. Fairgrounds will open at 7:00AM on Saturday. No people or animals permitted overnight on the grounds. 13. No bedding materials are allowed, and all exhibitors will clean up their area before leaving the grounds. 14. All lambs must have lamb teeth. All sheep must have a scrapie tag (which can be acquired through your breeder). All 4-H market ID tags are $3.00 and due at weigh-in. (Not part of registration) 15. Sheep will be shown according to judge s discretion. 16. NO MISTREATMENT OF ANIMALS WILL BE TOLERATED BY THE JOHNSON COUNTY 4-H PROGRAM. 17. Health Requirements- On Saturday of the Spring Show, all trailers and vehicles transporting sheep must enter the fairgrounds through the north entrance to the grounds off Madison Street. Animals that are ill, have soremouth, and/or have club lamb fungus, will not be allowed to show. The decision of the committee is final. 18. The use of artificial coloring, except on hooves, is prohibited. 19. Each exhibitor must groom his/her own animal and may use only the assistance of an immediate family member (mother, father, legal guardian, brother, sister) or another 4-H or FFA member who is an exhibitor at the show. 20. Show is open to all bona fide 4-H and FFA members who are 7-18 years of age as of 1/1/16.
