Dear Vail Mountain Club Members, Our second winter season delivered many more memorable events including our first Chili Cook-off, Last Tracks and Luau, and a ski trip to Jackson Hole to name a few. As we look forward to summer and the many wonderful days that the Vail Valley summer has to offer, we are excited about the numerous activities and events that fill our calendar for the warmer months. From hiking to biking to rafting, there will be an activity for everyone. On behalf of myself and the entire Vail Mountain Club team, thank you for another fantastic winter! Summer Activities SAVE THE DATE EVENTS & ACTIVITIES Summer Celebration July 3rd (Complimentary) 4:00pm 7:00pm, Mountain Plaza Join your fellow Club members at the Mountain Plaza for an afternoon of fun for all ages during our summer party. The celebration will include food, live music and fun activities for the kids. 4th of July Fireworks July 4th (Complimentary) Have the best seat in the house for the Fireworks this Fourth of July. The Vail Mountain Club will stay open late for the festivities. Rockies Game July 0th ($) 4:00pm 0:00pm, Coors Field Root, root, root for the home team! Join us as we cheer on the Colorado Rockies at the Coors Stadium in Denver. Before the game starts, we ll tailgate in the parking lot and enjoy delicious BBQ. Aspen-Crested Butte July 22nd July 24th ($) The hike from Aspen to Crested Butte offers tremendous mountain vistas, flowers, wildlife sightings and an aerobic challenge. This hike is for experienced backpackers. Bike to Glenwood Springs/Denver Train Ride July 30th 3st ($) This 6 mile bike ride will leave Vail at 7:00am and venture on a train to Denver by 2:50pm. After spending 2 nights in Denver at a select hotel, we will take the train back to Glenwood Springs and shuttle back to Vail. Putt-Putt & Dinn-Dinn August 7th ($) Play a round of Putt-Putt in Lionshead followed by a delicious dinner at Centre V. Aspen Bike Ride August 9th 20th ($) Join the Clubs of the Vail Valley as we ride to Aspen. We will offer two starting points. Members will spend one night in Aspen and enjoy shopping, hiking, and sightseeing. A shuttle will take your overnight bags to the hotel. Scavenger Hunt August 28th Be the first to race around Vail Village and find the Vail Mountain Club prize in our first scavenger hunt. Palisade Winery September th ($) The Palisade area hosts 75% of the state s premium wine vineyards. Join us as we take a day trip to Grand Junction and experience Colorado s finest wines. Colorado Grand September 7th ($) The Colorado Grand is a vintage car rally covering over,000 miles through some of the most spectacular roads and scenery. Join us on the Arrabelle deck to view these amazing cars followed by lunch. Fall Train Tour September 26th ($) :00am 4:00pm, Leadville Join us for a 2 ½ train tour of the fall colors outside of Leadville. Enjoy breath-taking panoramas across the Arkansas River Valley and humorous narratives about Leadville s colorful past. Summer Activities Fourteener s July 2nd, August 6th & September 3rd ($) 7:00am 5:00pm Discover some of Colorado s beautiful 4ers. s will range from moderate to expert and will be led by the Beaver Creek Hiking Center. Wildlife Biology July 5th ($) During this 2 3 hour hike, led by the Gore Range Natural Science School, we ll explore prime wildlife habitats and look for signs of the many animals that live in this community. Bike Tune Clinic July 7th & August 4th (Complimentary) 4:00pm 5:00pm, Vail Mountain Club Join Vail Sports for a basic bicycle maintenance clinic. The workshop will include identifying bike parts, checking for common problems, and changing a flat tire. You can bring your own bike or a demo bike will be provided. Bike & Brunch July th ($) 9:00am 2:00pm, Vail - Avon Join other Members at the Club as we bike to Avon and back. Brunch will follow at Centre V Restaurant. Casting Clinic July 4th & August th (Complimentary) 4:00pm 5:00pm, Vail Mountain Club Geared to the inexperienced fly fisherman; guides from Gore Creek Fisherman will teach a one hour clinic about basic casting techniques. White Water Rafting July 9th, July 6th, August 2th, August 9th Class II-III, Spend a day on the river enjoying family friendly rapids and breathtaking scenery. Mushroom August 8th ($) During this 2 3 hour hike, led by Gore Range Natural Science School, we ll learn the basics of fungi in our ecosystem and then spend time hunting for and identifying local mushrooms. Featured activities Ski Boot Clinic September 5th (Complimentary) 4:30pm 5:30pm, Vail Mountain Club Vail Sports is proud to sponsor a boot clinic for the 200/20 ski season. Learn about proper boot fitting and the latest boot styles for the upcoming ski season. /Wine Education June 20th, July 8th & August 5th (Complimentary) 4:00pm 6:00pm, Vail Mountain Club On the third Sunday of every month we will be adding an additional mixer which will include Wine Education. Cooking Demonstrations June 25th, July 7th, August 4th, September 4th ($) Advance your culinary skills with the staff at the Colorado Mountain College Culinary School. 6/25: Perfect Picnics: 6:00pm 9:00pm. Learn how to pack and plan the perfect picnic meal. 7/7: Farmer s Market: 0:00am 2:00pm. Meet us at the Edwards Farmer s Market and learn how to select and cook local foods. After we shop, we will proceed to the CMC kitchen and prepare a delicious meal with our items. 8/4: Hot off the Grill: BBQ, 6:00pm 9:00pm. Enjoy your own classic-style ribs, chicken and more. 9/04: Hot off the Grill: Burgers, 6:00pm 9:00pm. The quintessential grilled food. We will make burgers from lamb, turkey, lobster, and beef. Summer Activities WEEKLY ACTIVITIES MONDAYS ($) 7:30am 5:00pm, Location Varies Explore some of the best hiking in the Vail Valley such as Bald Mountain, Deluge Lake, and Galena Mountain led by the Beaver Creek Hiking Center. s will range from intermediate to advanced and vary in length from 4-9 hours. (Complimentary) 2:00pm 2:00pm, Vail Mountain Club Meet new members at the Club and join us every week for knitting. WEDNESDAYS (Complimentary) 9:00am 2:00pm, Location Varies For cyclists in training and for those who like to ride, join the VMC and other Clubs as we experience longer rides and sustained climbs. Glenwood Park July 2nd ($) 8:00am 4:00pm The Day Pass includes a ride on the Iron Mountain Tramway and entrance to the Park, plus unlimited access to the Alpine Coaster, Giant Swing, 4D Ride Theater, Laser Tag, Bungee Trampoline, Fort WhereAmI Maze, Doc s Rock climbing wall, Wild West Wagon simulated Conestoga wagon ride and Demon the Mechanical Bull. Recommended for ages 7 and older. Kid s WEEKLY ACTIVITIES WEDNESDAYS Kid s Garden ($) 0:00am 2:00pm, Betty Ford Gardens Join the Betty Ford Alpine Garden s staff for an educational tour of the Alpine Gardens. Programs are intended for kid s ages 5 to 0 years with a focus on hands-on activities. We will meet at the VMC and travel to the Children s Garden amphitheater together. Kid s Wii Night (Complimentary) 4:00pm 6:00pm, Vail Mountain Club THURSDAYS Kid s Imagination Station and Ice Cream ($) 9:00am :00pm, Lionshead Let your creativity run wild as you learn at the Imagination Station in Lionshead! After, we will stop by Marble Slab for an ice cream treat. FRIDAYS Day ($) 0:00am 2:00pm, Eagle s Nest Play under the sun at Adventure Ridge! Dig for dinosaur bones at the dino-dig, jump on the trampoline or climb the rock wall. Kids will also have a picnic lunch packed from the club. SATURDAYS Kid s Bike Ride (Complimentary) 9:00am 2:00pm, Vail Village Let s bike to the coolest playgrounds in Vail on our kid s bike day! Don t forget to wear your helmet; bike rentals are available through Vail Sports for a rental fee. Kid s Games (Complimentary) 2:00pm 4:00pm, Vail Mountain Club After a fun morning of bike riding come back for some more fun at Kid s Games and Crafts. We will sit on the back deck and enjoy some sunshine while we play board games and get creative with crafts. SUNDAYS Kid s (Complimentary) 9:00am 2:00pm, Vail Mountain Join the Gore Range Natural Science School for a fun and educational hike from the Yurt at the top of Eagle s Nest. This one-hour hike will inform us about the beautiful mountains and the wildlife in the area. Don t forget to bring a donation for the Science School! The $ indicates a cost associated with the activity 5

Additional information Spa Appointments & Reservations: To ensure availability of services and appointment times, we recommend scheduling your appointments well in advance. Treatments and services may be made up to three weeks in advance. When making a reservation, please let the concierge know if you prefer a male or female therapist. Unless you state a preference, your booking will be scheduled with the first available therapist of either gender. Members receive a 5% discount on treatments. Cancellations & No Shows : If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide the spa with at least 24 hours notice. If you fail to cancel your appointment, your credit card will be charged the full value of the treatment. Gratuities: For your convenience, a 20% service charge will be added and may be adjusted at your discretion. For reservations call the Spa Concierge at (970) 754-7828. GENERAL CLUB INFORMATION Parking of Additional Vehicle (NEW!) We have developed a new program to allow each parking member the ability to park two vehicles daily with certain black out periods. This program is designed to provide additional convenience for a member and his/her spouse who may have different schedules throughout the day. Black out periods will include Christmas week, President s week, Spring Break, and Summer Independence Holiday. Please visit the Vail Mountain Club website for guidelines for parking a second vehicle. Club Access Each member has an individual access code for entry into the Club. This code will only work during operating hours. This code is for member use only and should not be shared with non-members. Cell Phones Cell phone usage is not permitted in any public area of the Club. We recommend that cell phones be switched to a silent mode at the Club. Swimming Pool Pool and Hot Tub Hours: (0:00am 8:00pm) daily. There is no lifeguard on duty. Members and guests under the age of 4 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Member Workstation (NEW!) The new Member Work Station, located in the Member Lounge, is fully equipped with a computer, telephone and office supplies for your convenience. Vail Mountain Club Retail Purchase your Vail Mountain Club logo items. We carry many logo d items for Summer and Winter. Stop by the Member Lounge to see what new items are available. Summer Guest Policy No unaccompanied guests are allowed in the Club at any time. Members must sign in all guests daily with the Front Desk. Members will be allowed a maximum of four (4) accompanied guests per member per day. If a member exceeds the maximum guests permitted on a daily basis, a $5 per person fee will be charged to the member account. An individual guest is allowed a maximum of four (4) visits annually to the Club, regardless of which Member(s) they accompany. Exceptions include extended family and current house guests of the Member. Slippers & Robes Slippers and robes are provided for your comfort and enjoyment while using Club facilities.
