1 Club Chronicle WINTER Dear Vail Mountain Club Members, Thanks for another wonderful summer filled with fun activities. Our intrepid hikers conquered Mounts Massive and Belford at over 14,000 ft as well as enjoying many other gorgeous trails. Road bike rides around the valley and beyond, mountain bike rides on Vail Mountain, cooking demos at The10th and wine tasting in Palisade kept our members busy all summer long. Our first kids camp and kids nights out with Ashley were quite the hit with our families as were Sunday Fundays on the river. Welcome to our new members from the past season. We are excited to have you experience your first winter with the Club! We are looking forward to welcoming the world to our valley for the Alpine World Ski Championships this February Join us for ski trips to Beaver Creek to cheer on the athletes! This winter s highlights include the inaugural heli ski trip to British Columbia, Canada with Last Frontier Heliskiing as well as the 5th annual cat skiing adventure in Steamboat. As if cat skiing isn t enough, this year we are adding more excitement with laps around Bridgestone s winter driving course. We will join with other Signature Clubs for ski days in nearby resorts, snowshoe and dining evenings, and other social occasions, including PINK Vail, the world s biggest ski day to conquer cancer. This Club Chronicle outlines the season s featured events.
