Grafton won the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles at the California Early Bird, breaking the school record in the 400m hurdles and posting top 10 national times in both races. He also ran a leg on the 4x100m relay team which took third in 42.67. Nick Shaffer - Gwynedd Mercy University - Fr. Shaffer ran a 22.14 in the 200 meters notching an ECAC Qualifying mark to win that event. He finished second in the 100 meters in a time of 11.13. CSAC WOMEN S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK PAIGE ALLEN Penn State Behrend - Sr. - Butler, Pa. At the California Early Bird meet, Allen placed second in the 100m (12.21), third in the 200m (25.76), part of third place and school record 4x100m relay (49.36), part of fifth place 4x400m relay (4:07.90) and placed 10th in long jump (4.83m). Chante Moore - Gwynedd Mercy University - So. Moore set a school record in the 400 meters at the Ursinus Invitational. Moore clocked in at 55.09 to notch the fastest time in Division III so far this season and hit an ECAC Qualifying mark. CSAC MEN S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK LAST WEEK S RESULTS MITCHELL OBENRADER Penn State Behrend Sr. - Fryburg, Pa. Obenrader won the shot put (16.68m), placed fourth in the discus (41.96) and hammer (40.78m) at the California Early Bird. All three performances are CSAC leading marks. Joe McCoy - Gwynedd Mercy University - Fr. McCoy was impressive in the jumps, hitting a school record and in the triple jump (13.57 meters) to finish second. His 6.37-meter effort in the long jump was good enough for second place. Fine won the discus with a best throw of 35.35 meters, which was just 16 cm away from a program record and recorded a top mark of 10.97 meters in the shot. Janelle Lunde - Franciscan University - Fr. Lunde broke school record in long jump by jumping 15 3.5 at the Carnegie Mellon meet. She also won the 400 hurdles (1:12.20) and placed fifth in the triple jump (9.96 meters) PSU-Behrend at Carnegie Mellon Franciscan at Bethany Invite
AROUND THE CSAC FRANCISCAN BARONS The Barons opened the season at Carnegie Mellon University. Franciscan posted six scoring finishes The 4x400 meter relay team broke FUS' school record (3:42.12) by 2.84 seconds. The Lady Barons opened the season at Carnegie Mellon University and posted seven top-six finishes to finish fourth out of five teams. The Lady Barons broke the 400-meter run school record and the school record as a full member of the NCAA in the long jump. GWYNEDD MERCY GRIFFINS Nick Shaffer and Joe McCoy had a busy day in the first meet of the outdoor season on Saturday at the Ursinus College Invitational, highlighting Gwynedd Mercy. Shaffer won the 200 meters and placed second in two others while McCoy set a school in the triple jump record while finishing second in three events. Chante Moore picked up right where she left off in the Griffins' first outdoor meet of the season on Saturday at the Ursinus College Invitational, as the sophomore set a school record in the 400 meters. Moore clocked in at 55.09 to notch the fastest time in Division III so far this season and hit an ECAC Qualifying mark. Chyanne Fine threw a first-place finish in the discus and earned a fourth-place showing in the shot in her first action of the season. IMMACULATA MIGHTY MACS The Mighty Macs competed at the Ursinus Invitational this past weekend. Thomas Sagendorf placed third in the javelin and Gabe Dwyer was eighth in the 400 m hurdles for the top finishes for the Macs. Jess McHugh (400 m) and Tara Liska (long jump) both broke school records in their events. The Macs will travel to the Millersville Metrics this weekend. KEYSTONE GIANTS Keystone opened the outdoor season on Saturday at the Ursinus Invitational and recorded seven top-10 finishes on the day. Corey Allegrucci set a school record in the 110 meter hurdles to finish fourth, one spot ahead of Ty Fenstermacher. Allegrucci was also fourth in the high jump, Edward Sichilongo recorded a third place finish in the triple jump, Dan McSurdy was seventh in the 100 meter dash, Terry Duncan was eighth in the 100 meter dash, and the Giants claimed fourth in the 4x400 meter relay. The women s team recorded five top-10 finishes on the day. The Giants finished 3rd in the 4x400 meter relay, Nicole Delevan was sixth in the 200 meter dash, Tameka Wood placed 8th in the 200 meter dash, and Kristy Hansen (5000 meter run) and Kaylee Ceci (discus) all brought home top-10 finishes.
AROUND THE CSAC MARYWOOD PACERS Marywood opened its season at Susquehanna University Saturday. Lindsey Gladden set the school's triple jump mark of 10.02 meters to place sixth place overall. The men's 400 relay team of Tyler Shotto, Kenny Brakoh, Jyai Jefferson and Tim Hackenberg took fifth place in a record-breaking performance of 44.36 seconds. Kelby Cole had the team's top performance with a fifth place run in the 10K. Amelia Waibel was 20th in 13.61 seconds. Jyai Jefferson claimed 11th place with a 100 dash record of 11.55 seconds. Marywood travels to Widener University this weekend. NEUMANN KNIGHTS Neumann opened the outdoor season at the Ursinus College Invitational on Saturday. Francis Terry also qualified for the finals in the men's 100-meter dash and finished fourth with a time of 11.24. Nafisa Saunders qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash and crossed the finish line with a time of 13.28. Neumann will compete in the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University next weekend.
