IOMFA Centre of Excellence 2017/18 Mission Statement: To recruit and enhance the most talented junior football players on the island and provide a challenging technical and competitive programme to help them achieve their full potential.

Centre Programme Dates Training Phase 1: Mon 2 nd Oct 2017 Fri 22 nd Dec 2017 Xmas Break Mon 25 th Dec 2017 Mon 8 th Jan 2018 Training Phase 2: Mon 8 th Jan 2018 Fri 27 th Apr 2018 Players are expected to attend every session. Lead coaches will be taking and monitoring session registers If you cannot attend you must communicate this with the age group lead coach via email/ telephone (NOT THE FA OFFICE).

Player Enrolment Form The season 2017-18 Centre of Excellence Player Enrolment Forms can be found on the IOMFA Website (www.isleofmanfa.com ). CLICK (don t just hover over) the Centre of Excellence Tab on the website home page. Please print and forward a completed form to the below stated address no later than 4pm, Friday 13 th October 2017. Do Not hand these into your coach It is VERY important that this form is received in the IOMFA Office. Session Times at The Bowl Arrive on time for the start training times stated below. Use the Bowl 2 main entry gates which will open 15 mins before the session. Not the IOMFA Office entry gate. Goalkeepers Organization Lead coaches will organise sessions to incorporate Goalkeepers. Goalkeepers will be expected to train regularly with the outfield players within their respective age group squads (session times listed on the previous slide). There will also be: Mondays 6:00pm 7:00pm GK Specific Training ALL GK SQUADS

Squad Monitoring Squads are currently uploaded on the IOMFA website www.isleofmanfa.com under the Centre of Excellence Tab. Lead coaches will be reviewing squads constantly. There will be re-evaluations on going and lead coaches will be providing feedback to each player/parent.

Training Kit Players will be required to wear full 2017-18 training kit at each session: Training shirt, shorts, socks, jacket. There is an extra option for training pants also. To order kit for 2017/18, please visit this link: www.clubwebshop.com/isleofmanfa

Payment Payment will be via cheque standing order for season 2017-18. Depending on your training squad, players are categorised as either Single Session players or Double session players *** Please note you CANNOT pick which category your son/daughter is in***. Single Session Player (Train x 1 sessions per week) Boys Under 14 s Boys Under 15 s Boys Under 16 s Boy Under18 s 100 Girl Under 10 s-16 s Double Session Player (Train x 2 sessions per week) Boy Under 11 s Boy Under 12 s Boy Under 13 s 200 Season 2017/18 Two Family Member Deal The IOMFA Offer a Two for the Price of 1 deal for parents with two children within the programme. If paying via cheque, please write both players names on the back of the cheque. If paying via standing order only complete one standing order form and list the two player names on the form.

Payment Standing Order Forms Both the Double Session player and Single session player order forms can be found on the IOMFA Website (www.isleofmanfa.com ) under your Squad training group page. Along with the Centre of Excellence Player Enrolment Form please print and forward a completed form to the below stated address no later than 4pm, Friday 13 th October 2017 Players will be unable to start the training programme until the necessary paperwork has been received. Games Programme/ Trips Boys U11 Boys U13 Girls U10 Girls U12 All named squad players have the opportunity to attend trips Boys U14- Boys U18 Girls U14 Girls U18 Lead coaches communicate the organisation on selection for trips To Support player development we aim to organise trips off island to play in competitions and fixtures. Lead coaches for each squad lead the organisation of the trips.

Training Code of Conduct TRAINING (BEFORE) -Hydrate fill water bottle up -Rest before training -Warm up properly on arrival -Players Not Allowed on the sides of the pitch prior to session start time -Players must wear full training kit to every session - No Long tracksuit pants / inappropriate Woolly hats TRAINING (DURING) -Respect coach selection/ decisions -No Swearing -Keep to coach instructions -Positive attitude -Encourage Team mates -Give 100% effort -Look Smart tuck shirts in -Don t discriminate against other players -Look after your possessions -No Racism -Good Sportsmanship TRAINING (AFTER) -Clean up Litter -Take all your possessions -Re-Hydrate -Cool down -Report any injuries to coach This code of conduct will need to be strictly adhered to and will be monitored by lead coaches across each squad. Parents will be notified of any player who has broken the Code of Conduct. 3 Strike Rule We adopt a 3 strike policy to training code of conduct and attendance. This will be communicated further at the parents/players evening upcoming.

Incident Reporting Lead coaches will forward an accident/ behaviour report form similar to the one on the right of this slide to inform parents/ guardians if they feel necessary. Coaches & Communication Cancelled sessions We do not expect many with the programme being on a 3G surface. Expect sessions to take place in all weather conditions. However IF a session is cancelled lead coaches will communicate this via email and only at very short notice via text message. Unless you are contacted please expect the session to still take place. Coaching/ Technical Program Aims to produce Innovative players, exceptional decision making skills, based on fundamental movement skills, involves problem solving and developing a tactical understanding of the game 6 Strands of Learning centred around - attacking, defending, finishing and goalkeeping all of which will be covered over the course of the season. See overleaf a very short explanation of different age specific factors when coaching the different age groups.

Coaching/ Technical Program Ages 9 12 s Technique work Providing lots of opportunity to develop individual football techniques and to master a football. A mixture of opposed, game related activities and unopposed individual technique work. Fun football related games to develop fundamental movement patterns for football develop agility, balance, co-ordination and speed. Small sided game activities learn the game and decision making. Play in a variety of positions.

Coaching/ Technical Program Age 12 18 s Sessions will support the transition from small sided into 11 v 11 football. Players will be learning the principles of play within the game. Sessions include an increase in decision making and problem solving. Well rounded varied coaching practice will include technique work along with Small sided games which is game related and opposed.

Developing The Player SOME Key development areas for individual players Physical - Good ABC s Fundamental Movement Patterns for football (Agility, Balance, Coordination, Acceleration, Deceleration) - Fast Over short and Longer Distances (can cover the ground. Social - Have a strong mentality - A team player Technical - Competent in 1 v 1 situations - Good First touch, under pressure and with both feet - Comfortable at keeping possession under pressure - Good At passing, dribbling, running with ball, finishing Psychological - Express themselves and show creativity when attacking - Tactically astute - Offer support and movement on and off the ball - Show understanding and decisiveness when defending
