Rle Accuntabilities Safety T ensure that high visibility clthing is always wrn in vehicle mvement areas T ensure that speed limits are bserved at all times including when within bus depts and bus statins T check the cnditin f the vehicle prir t cmmencing service by: carrying ut a thrugh pre-use safety walk rund check ensuring that any defect in the vehicle r equipment is reprted as sn as pssible t the right persn cmpleting the Vehicle Defect Card r entering the defect n the electrnic ticket machine (depending n lcatin) ensuring that the vehicle is clean and tidy befre starting service T cmply with the laws and cmpany regulatins regarding the use f mbile phnes, smking in cmpany vehicles and the use f prhibited equipment (such as games cnsles) whilst n duty. T be respnsible fr the health, safety, security, welfare, envirnmental and fire safety arrangements fr yurself, custmers and clleagues. This must include attendance at safety briefings and training as required. T ensure all safety accidents/incidents are reprted using the cmpany s reprting prcedure. T ensure a full understanding f emergency and evacuatin plans. T ensure yur bus cab area is kept in a safe and tidy cnditin at all times. 1
T ensure cmpliance with the rules gverning driving hurs and rest perids fr PCV/LGV drivers (Dmestic and EC Rules) and the Wrking Time Directive. Custmer T prvide a high standard f custmer service at all times T always wear a name badge where prvided T give custmers n the bus any infrmatin that may help them during their jurney. Examples wuld be telling custmers the best stp fr their destinatin, rad clsures & diversins using the n-bard annuncement system when applicable. T always behave in a friendly and prfessinal way t custmers and clleagues T recgnise and assist with the additinal needs f children and vulnerable adults, the elderly, infirm r disabled Business T drive the Cmpany s vehicles in a safe, legal and prfessinal way T drive t the set timetable as per duty card r cntrller s instructins, nt running early r late, when it is safe t d s T accurately use the ticket machine T wear full unifrm when supplied T wear smart clthing and apprpriate ftwear as per dept specificatin prvided during training and inductin until unifrm is supplied. This des nt include jeans, tee shirts r training type shes T immediately ntify the management team f any faults r defects with any f the unifrm supplied and return it. T display the crrect destinatin n the vehicle s destinatin blind at all times T check the telematics system is wrking crrectly as part f the daily first use check and t reprt any damage t the system n the vehicle cnditin reprt card 2
T keep up t date with rad clsures, diversins r special events which may affect bus services. This is dne by reading ntices, attending briefings, listening t the n-bus radi (if yu have ne fitted). T keep up t date with any changes t cnditin f travel, ticket types, fares r prmtins by reading ntices, briefings r updated stage / fare bks. Driving Licence T ensure that a valid driving licence is held at all times and is available fr inspectin by a member n staff f the Cmpany A driver must ensure that: their licence is in date and valid fr the vehicle type their licence has the required medical renewals up t date their licence Driver CPC qualificatins are up t date any change t the licence which may affect their entitlement t drive is cmmunicated t their line manager (e.g. Sickness, injury r cnvictin). their licence is made available fr inspectin in every 6 mnth perid Using Infrmatin T reprt all safety, security, driving and custmer service incidents t the line manager as sn as pssible T reprt all incidents n the rad, likely t affect bus services, t the traffic ffice as sn as it is safe t d s.
