Rules: We follow the athletic OHSAA handbook as well as the NRHS athletic handbook Unexcused absences include, work, competitive cheer, no ride, etc. Behavior expectations are similar to school: we expect respect, teamwork, inclusion, and a strong work ethic. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action Please see handout and cheer constitution for more details
FAQ: What do I do if my child is not able to make practice? Please notify a coach immediately. Knowing that your child is safe is our first concern. All absences are recorded and dealt with accordingly if not excused. I don t have the funds to pay for everything right away, what happens? That is actually one of the reasons why we have the meeting and tryouts so early, to help with budgeting out the cost. We accept payments until due date but no equipment can be received until it is paid in full. Your child cannot attend camp or attend some events unless all items are paid. What happens if my daughter loses her poms, ruins her uniform, etc.? The child/parent is responsible for the cost of the replaced item. What is an excessive amount of practices/games to miss? We follow the handbook. It s 1 game for football, 3 games for Bball. We have a number of athletes who are willing and able to commit their time to these squads. Give them an opportunity to if you cannot meet the requirements.
Next Steps: What if my child makes the squad? There will be another parent meeting on April 13th. Your child will be asked to download an app called GroupMe. That s how I communicate to them. What if my child didn t make it? Please don t be discouraged. Continue stretching, working on your jumps and keep that Ranger spirit up! We look for leaders in the stands too!
How to Start conditioning: Start Stretching daily Jumping- even if your form is off right now, gain height and flexibility Work on stiff arm motions. High V s, Low V s, T s, etc. Practice a strong, projecting voice Smile when you cheer. I am a BIG stickler on this! Worried about not tumbling? Don t! There are MANY great non-tumbling cheerleaders on the squads. Spread kindness, lift eachother up! Cheer - leaders lift others! GOOD LUCK RANGERS!!!
