September 29, 2018 SIERRA VALLEY ART & AG TRAIL 10 AM - 4 PM DINNER AT GRANGE HALL, VINTON FROM 4 - Event Overview The art and agriculture communities of Plumas and Sierra Counties are inviting the public to spend an Awesome Autumn Day, enjoying the history, culture and bounty of one of its treasures: Sierra Valley. Visitors will travel the Sierra Valley Art & Ag Trail, with great views of Sierra Valley Barn Quilts and opportunities to visit market farms, working ranches, and a pumpkin patch, and to sample the wares of artists of every color wood, paint, glass, ceramic, metal, fiber and more. The event offers a window into the past, when Sierra Valley was home to a large number of family-run dairies that supplied milk, cream and butter to the Comstock Lode miners in Virginia City. Guests will have a rare opportunity to visit privately owned 100+ year-old dairy barns, many built with hand-hewn timbers and wooden pegs, still serving today s working ranches. Inside and around the barns, farms and other historic sites, talented local artists will be showing and selling their wares. Visitors will be offered opportunities to tour the sites and learn about the history and current uses and operations. The Sierra Valley Art & Ag Trail event also offers children s activities, artist demonstrations, inspired education about the sources of our food, and a raffle, featuring a keepsake passport for collecting stamps of local cattle brand insignia, artist s marks and more along the Trail. The Plumas-Sierra Cattlemen s Association and Plumas-Sierra CattleWomen s Association will be cooking up a delicious meal to end the day. Trail-weary pioneers are encouraged to stop by the Sierra Valley Grange Hall in Vinton from 4 6 p.m. for the prize drawing, as well as no-host refreshments and tri-tip dinner. This will be an opportunity to catch up with friends, compare passport stamps, swap stories and refuel for the drive home. (The Cattlemen know their way around a grill and a cut of beef, so this is not a stop to be missed.) www.sierravalleyartagtrail.org September 29, 2018 September 30, 2018 LOYALTON THRIFT STORE OPEN THESE SATURDAYS 10-2 PM We have fall clothing and accessories every other Saturday in September! 5K RUN TO BENEFIT EMMIT IRWIN LOYALTON CITY PARK BECKWITH STREET/A-24 REGISTER 3 PM CORINA 530-721-2626/ AMBER 530-410-9397, JOIN US FOR A FREE BBQ BOUNCE HOUSE AND LIVE MUSIC $20 ADULTS; 45 YOUTH UNDER 18 October 3, 2018 Page 2/5

Must be 18 years or older. October 6, 2018 October 6, 2018 October 10, 2018 October 17, 2018 Swinging for the Schools Golf Tournament 10:30 am. THE SIERRA SCHOOLS FOUNDATION will sponsor its 8th annual Swinging for Schools Classic Golf Tournament Saturday, October 6th at Plumas Pines. Local schools continue to face losses of funding and programs. They need your help more than ever! This Tourney benefits over 400 students in Sierra and Plumas Counties. It is hoped to attract more than 100 golfers to the tournament from all over California and northern Nevada. This is a great opportunity for you to let our golfers know you support a quality education for Sierra and Plumas County students! The tournament is popular with golfers because all golfers are in the running for a prize, thanks to the generosity of its donors. It is hoped to collect gift certificates for dinners, bottles of wine, or something appropriate for your particular business or hobby. Donations will help make this tournament both profitable for the Foundation and fun for the participants. Donors will be recognized during presentation of the prizes, in the tournament program received by each golfer and in any other way they can manage! http://www.sierraschoolsfoundation.org STOP THE BLEED TRAINING & INFECTIOUS DISEASE TRANSPORTATION DOWNIEVILLE COMMUNITY HALL 322 MAIN STR DOWNIEVILLE, CA 10 AM - 3 PM PATTI GARRISON, 530-229-3979 pgarrison@norcalems.org OPEN TO ALL HCC MEMBERS, HOSPITALS, CLINICS, PUBLIC HEALTH, SCHOOLS, ETC.
