RULES, REGULATIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Dressage at CEC is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book and will be conducted and judges in accordance therewith. 2. Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. EC 7/21/08 Effective 12/1/08 3. ENTRIES: All entries close on given date. Correct fees and association numbers must accompany each entry form. Post entries will be accepted only to fill scratches. All classes are limited in size and may fill before closing date. ATTENTION COMPETITIORS: Each competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct association numbers (USEF, USDF) for horse, owner, rider and trainer, before the day of competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward national awards. 4. LATE ENTRIES: Any entry received or postmarked after the closing date will be subject to a $25 late fee. 5. FEES: USEF Federation fee is $8, USEF Drug Fee is $7, Junior and Senior Non-members pay $30, USDF Non-members pay $20 with card (no card $25). CDS Travel Grant is $2, CDS Non-members pay $10. CDFA Drug Fee is $5. DASC non-member fee is $5. DASC Championship Show Fee is $1. NOTE: CDS members who participate in a CDS recognized show may not be required to pay non-member fees to any other organization (National Federation - USEF or National Breed Organizations exempted) in order to participate in the show. CDS non-member rule: For CDS recognized shows in California, Nevada, Arizona and Oregon, CDS agrees to a reciprocal non-member system where CDS will waive the non-member fee IF the competitor and/or owner is a member of another USDF GMO; and in return the show management will not charge CDS members a non-member fee for any other GMO. If the competitor and/or owner is not a member of CDS or any other GMO, then the show management will charge and collect non-member fees for CDS. 6. REFUNDS: There will be positively no refunds after the closing date for any reason. Scratches made prior to the closing date will be refunded less the $20 office fee. CHANGES ON ENTRIES AFTER CLOSING DATE: All changes on the entry form after the closing date will be subject to a fee of $25 per change requested. All changes will be subject to approval by Show Management.

8. OPPORTUNITY CLASSES: Opportunity classes are for entry level riders. Horses and riders competing in Opportunity classes are exempt from USEF and USDF membership requirements, and do not have to pay non-member or HID fee. Horses entered only in Opportunity classes are exempt from the Federation fees, including the Drugs & Medications fee. However, horses entered in these classes are still subject to and must comply with all Drugs & Medication rules and are subject to testing at this competition. Horse/riders will be allowed to cross-enter into other recognized classes at this show. However, please note, if a horse or rider enters other non-opportunity classes at this competition in which membership by participants is required, all USEF, USDF, DASC and CDS membership requirements apply for horse, rider, owner, trainer, etc. Scores earned in Dressage Opportunity classes may not be used towards USEF, USDF, CDS or DASC awards or programs. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Every horse and pony entered for competition will be under the control of the horse Show Management, but the Horse Show Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, it s Directors, and Employees, Classic Equestrian Center, it s Directors and Employees harmless for any loss or accident to his horse, horses or equipment which may occur from accident, sickness, fire or otherwise. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes, or to change officials as it deems necessary, decision of Show Management is final. Current USEF and FEI Tests will be ridden. All tests will be ridden in a 20 x 60 meter ring. Failure to enter ring by scheduled time will incur elimination. This is the responsibility of the exhibitor. Scored tests will only be given to riders or their authorized representative after results have been posted. All scores are final at the close of the show day. Check all scores upon receipt of test. 10. CLASS LIST INFORMATION: Sections; O-AA-J-Q. A single ride will apply to all sections of a class entered, but each section will be placed separately. O=OPEN - Classes that are Open to all. J=JUNIOR/YOUNG RIDER - Offered to juniors (under 18) and Young Riders over 15 but under 21 years of age as of December 1 of the current competition year. 11. ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted by mail or other means of delivery postmarked or dated sent by given, date, hand delivered Entries must be received on given date by 6:00pm. No other criteria of acceptance is required. 12. REFUSUAL OF ENTRIES: Entries of persons suspended or expelled from the Federation will be refused. The Management has the right to refuse entries of an exhibitor or participation of any Handler, Rider, Driver, Owner, Lessee, Agent, Coach, Trainer, Vaulter or Longuer who has shown objectionable attitude or behavior at a recognized competition to wards its management, which management is able to substantiate, or previous unsportsmanlike behavior at a Recognized Competition which management is able to substantiate. 13. PRIZES AND AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded through 5th place. Award will be given to Competition High point in each section (O, AA, J), in Training through 3nd, and 4th through FEI. 14. MINOR EXHIBITORS: Parents or guardians of minor exhibitors shall hold Classic Equestrian Center harmless for injury to such minor. No child s entry blank shall be accepted unless it is signed by a parent or guardian. The signature of instructors, agents, or other unrelated persons will not be accepted.

15. MANAGEMENT: The management reserves the right to itself interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or rising out of or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the horse show management and its decision will be final. Directions to the 16. RETURNED CHECK: Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be handled as follows; All returned checks will be charged an additional 10% penalty ($25 minimum). Accounts will be given 10 days to be paid in full with cash or cash equivalent or they will be turned into the USEF for further disciplinary action. 17. STABLING: Stabling is available at a cost of $125 (Friday-Sunday). Please supply your own food & bedding. Show will feed & clean. All stalls have doors. Day Stall $50 per day. 18. GROUNDS: Exhibitors may park (car and trailer) only in specified areas. Absolutely no dogs allowed on show grounds. Only those horses entered in the show will be permitted in the competition and warm-up areas during the competition. No longing of horses in warm-up ring while ring is in progress. A caterer will be available on the show grounds during the event. 19. ARENAS: Sand/Rubber footing is used in 20M x 60M competition and warm-up arenas. Competitors may ride in the arenas Friday before competition if stabled on show grounds. No one on foot will be allowed in warm up arena. All horses must wear bridle numbers at all times when out of stalls. C lassic Equestrian C enter 20. GROUNDS FEE: $25 per show day is charged for each entry not stabling at CEC. 21. CANCELLATION: In the event of rain prior to the show, it is the competitor s responsibility to call the show management to determine whether the show is cancelled. Shows are not cancelled due to rain unless footing is deemed unsafe. If the show is cancelled for any reason, a $25 per day office fee will be retained from each entry. 22. SCHEDULING: Rides times will be posted on www.classicequestriancenter.com in a timely manner. Competitors may school on the Friday before each show at CEC. 23. TESTS: Current USEF and FEI tests will be used. 24. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals. Federation Entry Agreement Effective 12/1/09 By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the Federation ) and the local rules of the Competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the Competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. If I am a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child s participation and AGREE to all of the above provisions and AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child s behalf.
