REPORT Cultural Fest cum Fete- SARAS, 2015 On 22 April 2015, Tecnia Institute of Advanced studies organized its Cultural Fest cum Fete-SARAS with full zeal and zest in the college premises. The fest started at 12:30 pm with the Saraswati Vandana offering prayers to the Goddess of knowledge, Music and arts. Participants for lamp lighting ceremony were Chairman Shri R.K.Gupta, Tecnia group of Institutions, Dr.A.K.Rathore, Director, TIAS, and senior faculty members of the Institute. Welcome address was delivered by Dr Vandana Raghava, Convener Saras-2015. She discussed about the importance of cultural activities in all round grooming of students and wished the success of Saras -2015 as well. Further, she gave an overview of various events. Lighting of lamp Students from TIAS and various other colleges participated with full zeal and enthusiasm and all the events were conducted as scheduled. 2

The events at SARAS comprised of 1. STREET PLAY Two Street plays viz, Dastak and Soch were performed. (a) Dastak - By Smita Group, The play was all about women exploitation in Delhi and NCR, it was based on Nirbhya case of Delhi. (b) Soch - By RDIAS, Rohini, and the theme of that play was sex education among youth. Both the street plays were amazing and won lot of appreciation by the audience. 2. ONE- ACT PLAY Two one Act Plays were performed Gareeb Dass A comic play was performed by students from Toli Theaters under the aegis of R.K. Films. Another play Ma tujhe salam which was also a comedy play was performed by KIET, UP technical university students. GROUP DANCE- For group dance, there was a great participation of BBA and MBA students from TIAS and also from other colleges of GGSIP University and Delhi University. The event was well managed by the coordinators. The event was judged by Ms Akanksha Sagar, Model Anchor and Actor owner of Breezy Feet Dance Studio. Group Dance performed by Dazzlers TIAS. SOLO DANCE- There were 12 entries for the event and was highly competitive event with lots energy and expertise on display. The event was well managed by the coordinators. SOLO AND DUET SINGING - Various participants from different streams showcased their talent. The event was inaugurated with the welcoming of Judge Ms Malvika Joshi, Singer and prize winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, UAE. To start with Ms Malvika sang a song which mesmerized the audience. Mesmerizing song sung by Ms Malvika Joshi Nitin Shukla, GIBS, Sung Solo Song Manu Garg, BBA, TIAS,sung solo song Vijay, DU performing sighing with guitar. T-SHIRT PAINTING - For the event ten students participated from TIAS and they showed there artistic talent. The event was judged by Dr. Mani Manjari and Ms.Honey Shah. Participants showcase their art skills on the T-Shirts Painted T-Shirts displayed after the event. 8

FACE PAINTING - This event was conducted to enhance the creative ideas, designing skills and confidence of participants. There was a great participation from BBA, BJMC, MBA & MCA Department of TIAS.The event was judged by Dr. Mani Manjari and Ms.Honey Shah. This is how students are looking after face paint 9

FASHION PARADE - You want to win some beauty pageant? Here is where you can begin to dream about it by walking on the ramp for Fashion Parade. Fashion Parade was such a thrilling, high adrenaline and exciting event of SARAS- 2015. Students of team Halloween MBA, TIAS, performing Fashion Parade. MS. AND MR. SARAS - A platform to show your attitude and to reflect your charm and charisma so that you become a Ms. and Mr. SARAS and future Ms. and Mr. India. Various participants from different streams showcased there talent in three different rounds. This event was divided in to three different round, The first round was the introduction round followed by the talent round and those students who were qualified in the second round faced question and answer round. Mr Raman Gill, Model and brand ambassador of Adidas, Raymond s and GenX judged the event. BEST FILLERS - To make the event more interesting and give the opportunity to all, large numbers of performances in the singing, solo dance mono acting were included as fillers. Apart from all these events two special performances were given by Aavya Raghava, who recited a poem on Ramayana and second one, was a classical dance performance by Gaurika Gupta. STALL ARRANGEMENTS - There's great live entertainment on the main stage and on the backstage different varities of delicious food Stalls, fabrics and fashion wear, stylist sunglasses and fun games added the flavor to the event. Result Declaration & Certificates Distribution Applauds, hooting and appreciation echoed the auditorium when the most awaited moment -Prize distribution arrived and prizes were given to the winners by Mr. R.K. Gupta, chairman of Tecnia group of Institutions, Dr.A.K.Rathore, Director, TIAS, Dr. Rajesh Bajaj, Prof., TIAS, Mr. M.N. Jha, Dr. Vandana Raghava & Ms. Kanika Gupta. It was a spectacular show which provided the students with a great platform to portray their talent and gain confidence and excel in every field. The show ended with the results and an awesome grooving session and on a note that it will be organized the next year again with more of colors in it. The event was conducted under the guidance of the Convener- Dr. Vandana Raghava and mentorship of Dr.A.K.Rathore, Director, TIAS, & Mr. R. K. Gupta, Chairman, TIAS, Dr Rajesh Bajaj Chief Convener, who in his message to the students, faculty and staff members of Tecnia group of Institutions, greeted the audience on the event. He advised everybody present in the auditorium to be part of extracurricular activities for learning the art of multi-tasking which can be beneficial in the future All the heads of Institutions also offered their greetings and advise to their audience on building up the acumen of knowledge for better quality of life. Learning Outcome It is the cultural fest of the institute by the students, which helped the students to showcase their capabilities in co-curricular activities and motivated them to take part in forth coming events. Participation in different genres of performing arts are important in grooming and polish the personalities of the student towards successful career build up. It was also beneficial to the students, whose appreciation and criticism for further enhancing their performance. Students also got social recognition in specific fields. 17
