RESULTS FROM YESTERDAY GIRLS HOCKEY STATE TOURNAMENT REPORT What a crazy last couple days we have had down here in St. Paul-Minneapolis. Talk about a whirlwind of two games thus far; taking on the defending state champions right off the bat, and then winning an OT thriller to get us into the State Consolation Championship game on Saturday. Wednesday's game vs. Blake Despite losing just 0-3 to the defending state champions, we sure gave them a run for their money Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center. The Cardinals were able to skate with the Bears for a 0-0 first period tie while the Bears led in shots 5-11. But the Lady Cards would turn it around the second, and go toe-to-toe and end in even shots, 11-11 for the second period. The Cards had many GREAT chances to score on the PP but could not get it in the net. The Bears would score with 1:30 left in the 2nd period to take the first lead of the game. The Bears would score two throughout the 3rd period while the Cards just couldn't find the back of the net and let the wind out of our sails a little bit. Took a couple shifts off from the intensity that we had the first two

periods and we were not able to catch up. Very proud of the girls for doing what they did against a defending state championship team. We definitely saw some great potential and dreams for ourselves in the future. Thank you to everyone who made the trek down to support our girls at the X. It was a great atmosphere for our girls and we appreciate your support, encouragement, and love for our girls! Thursday's game vs. Mound Westonka Not even 15 Hours later, we were back on the ice for our second game in the Consolation bracket at Ridder Arena. Coming off of a physically and emotionally exhausting game against Blake, the Cards dug deep and found a way to win 7-6 in OT. What a crazy, exciting, back and forth, and thriller of a game it was. Continuous back and forth play by the Cards and the Whitehawks led to a high scoring game by both teams. The Cards completely demolished the Whitehawks in the shots on goal category with 52 shots to their 24. Scoring tonight for your Cardinals were Kristin Trosvig with 2, Josie Minnerath, McKenzie Revering, Calley Richardson, and McKenna Ellingson with 2 INCLUDING THE GAME WINNER IN OT! Also on the board tonight for assists were Allison O'Kane (2), Calley Richardson, Marki Oberg, Meghan Pesta, Alexis Heckert, McKenna Ellingson (2), and Kristin Trosvig (2). The Cardinals handled adversity well today and learned a little bit about what they're made of. We will be back on the ice Saturday morning against the Hibbing Blue Jackets for the Consolation Championship! GO CARDS, GO! BOYS BASKETBALL VARSITY Alexandria 86 Detroit Lakes 62 Alexandria Boys Basketball team defeated the Detroit Lakes Lakers 86-62 on Thursday night in nonconference play. Alex controlled the game from the tip, led by efficient offensive play. The kids played unselfish basketball and moved the ball extremely well. The 2nd half was much of the same on the offensive end, but the Cardinal defense would force some quick shots and turnovers to stretch its lead. Cardinal Boys Basketball travels to Sartell on Friday night. BOYS BASKETBALL B SQUAD Alexandria 56 Detroit Lakes JV 50 Last night the Alexandria B Squad traveled to Detroit Lakes. For most of the game it was a tough trip North, then.. The Cardinals started slow last night seeing the Laker lead grow to 15 at the half. Lack of intensity, defense, rebounding and offense were all contributing factors. The second half began and it seemed that we would see more of the same as with a little less than 13 minutes left we found ourselves down 21. After a timeout and some encouragement, the young Cardinals got their mojo going and began to cut into the Laker lead. As each possession passed the Lakers tightened as they slowly saw their lead erode, while the young Cards began to grow with confidence and realize that a comeback was a real possibility. Finally, with a little over a minute left the Cards hit a three to put them up 1 and picked off a pass for a lay-up and a foul. The Cards closed the game with some clutch free throws to win the game. As we traveled to the high school, the boys were heard singing Don t Stop Believing at the top of their lungs which was fitting. Tonight, we travel to Sartell for our 3 rd road game of the week. GIRLS BASKETBALL VARSITY Alexandria 54 St Cloud Tech 41 The Lady Cards hit the road, down 2 starters, and came away with a solid CLC win. In the first half we still had a hangover from the Willmar game. After some excellent halftime adjustments we came out and executed beautifully the defensive plan and offensively as well to roll to the victory. The depth of our team is such a huge strength and it showed as we got excellent performances in the second half from our bench. Our mental toughness and physical toughness was impressive as we gained confidence and sealed the deal. The win ups our season record to 22-4 overall and a stellar 15-1 in the CLC. Scoring was led by Kayla Feldhake with 17, Kendall Kohler 15, Kelby Olson-Rodel 13, Kiyana Miller 4, Kara Thomson 3, Kaye Paschka 2, and Emma Schmidt 1. Rebounding was led by Kendall Kohler and Kayla Feldhake, hauling down 6 big boards each, and Kelby Olson-Rodel ripping down 5. Steals were leaders were Kendall Kohler and Kelby Olson-Rodel with 3

each and 2 for Kaye Paschka, Kiki Miller and Emma Schmidt. Assist leaders were Emma Schmidt with 3 while kendall Kohler, Kaye Paschka and Kiki Miller each dished out 2. We now are excited to gear up for practice to prepare for Section play starting Tuesday at home where we will be the #1 seed and host the Little Falls Flyers at 7:00. Be there cheering for the Lady Cards!! Congrats to our JV and Coach Hendricks for their stellar season. The freshman will compete in the CLC tournament on Saturday, so good luck to Coach Gotto and his team. Awesome "clean sweep" on The road to all 3 teams! Top 20 Tip of the Day Top 20 Thinkers and Teams view feedback as ideas for growth, thus accelerating performance. Bottom 80 Thinkers and Teams internalize, personalize feedback, thus stunting growth and performance. Wow... we are so lucky to have an entire team of such coachable young ladies who want to grow!! Go Cards! GIRLS BASKETBALL JV Alexandria 80 St. Cloud Tech 42 Thursday night the Alexandria Cardinals traveled to Saint Cloud to take on the Tech Tigers for the regular season finale. From the tip the Cards were off and flying and ready to run the Tigers off the floor. The Cardinals were able to build an early 14 point lead and didn t look back. The Cardinals were able to put in rotation waves of 5 and show off their depth as all 15 players were able to contribute throughout the entire game. Alexandria was able to show off their teamwork and balanced scoring attack for the final game as well. At the half the Cards would be up 47-25. The second half was more of the same as Alex continued to pour it on with each rotation that played in the JV s season finale. It was a fun night and a great team victory to cap off the JV Girls Basketball successful season. In the end the JV would coast to a 80-42 victory. The win ends the JV Girls season with a record of 23-3 on the year. The girls JV worked hard all season and stayed motivated throughout to improve their individual and team skills and continue to keep getting victories on the court. The girls 3 loses were by a combined total of 4 points. Congratulations to Kennedy Quinn, Nikki Botzet, Taylor Partington, Flora Kvale, Addison Rodel, Aliycia Stotesbery, Matie Writjes, Alison Amundson, Courtney Gould, Emily Aker, Callie Craig, Franny Palmer, Kaye Paschka, Ella Grove, Emily Jones, Larissa Lamb, and Mac Duwenhoegger on a great season! GIRLS BASKETBALL 9 TH GRADE Alexandria 52 Tech 21 On Thursday night, the Cards went down to St. Cloud Tech to take on the Tigers. It s been awhile since the Cards and Tigers have faced off, but it was a good game for the Cards from the start. In the first half, the Cards poached the Tigers to near extinction, leading 41-9 at the break. After half, every girl on the team got some serious minutes, which led to every single player on the 9th grade team scoring!! It was a very exciting way to end the regular season for the girls. Even though it was nice being able to get everybody involved in the offense, the show was really stolen by the Cards defense. They were all over the court, stalking the Tigers at every turn. Even from the inbound, you could tell that Survivor had packed up and left the stage, the Eye of the Tiger was gone. It was a nice boost going into the CLC tournament that goes down on Saturday at the Sauk Rapids/Rice High School. The Cards end the regular season with a 26-1 record, which gives them the #1 seed going into the Big Dance, (where rumors spread that Dicky V will be in attendance commentating.) They will take on the #8 seed, Tech, at 9:00 in the morning on Saturday. More to come after the weekend when the girl s season is over.

Due to the fact that AAHS interacts with many business partners and we have many speakers set up to come into the classrooms, the A & B Day schedule is set and remains the same regardless of snow days. For example, Monday, November 21 st was scheduled to be a B Day. AAHS was closed on Friday, November 18 th due to the snowstorm and it was an A Day. Therefore, Monday, November 21 st remained a B Day. If we have a number of snow days and they all happen to be on A Days (or all on B Days), then administration will re-evaluate and may change the AB schedule near the end of each semester to make sure students are receiving the same number of A & B Days. You will be informed if the AB schedule changes near the end of the semester. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 320-762-2142.
