January 2015 Cabin Fever Museum Tour & Breakfast Tired of staying inside during the winter? Falcon itching to get out and cruise around a bit? Well then we have just the medication to cure your winter blues! Here s the prescription. Come out, bring a friend, and meet us for breakfast and tour a one mans private collection of over 100+ cars and fire trucks. We will meet up in Hickory at the Golden Coral at 10am for breakfast on Saturday, February 28th. The Golden Coral is on Lenoir Rhyne Boulevard North of I-40 at Exit 125. I have reserved a private room for the club to have breakfast together and leave from there to head to Mr. Huffman s car collection at 11am. Mr. Huffman has invited our club to tour his 100+ car collection dating from the 20 s to the 70 s. He doesn t normally let just anyone see his collection but has opened it up for some car clubs. If you are meeting us at the Museum it is located behind Huffman Mills at 4919 Hickory Blvd, Granite Falls. Coming from Hickory on Hwy321, cross over the Catawba River. At the second stop light turn left into the Huffman Mill. The museum is located in the back. If you have any questions, call James Baxter 704-736-1920. 1

Year-End BBQ Meeting at The Haigler s Ah! Yes we all had a good get together at Dannie & Geraldine Haigler s home in Midland, NC. A fine line-up of Falcons enjoyed the sun while their owners got their talk on with friends. Carolinas Chapter provided the main course to its members to sit down with delicious chicken & pulled pork with 24 present. Our members brought many deserts to top off everything. We had a good monthly meeting with everyone in a circle discussing the many things the chapter did in 2014. We especially talked about the 11 th Regional Meet being a big success and the agenda for 2015. On that note we held elections. Thank you to our New President Tony Honeycutt, New Vice-President Garry Gray, and New Secretary Debbie Honeycutt for stepping up to take these positions. Bill Price will continue on as our Treasurer and James and Mary Lynne Baxter will continue as our Newsletter Editors. Everyone thanked President Wayne Cannon and Vice-President James Baxter for there years in leadership to our club! Bill Price won for driving his car to the most events during 2014. For this Bill will have his car on the trophy and dash plaques for the Town & Country Show in May. Barbara Earnhardt won the drawing for the free meal. Our chapter voted to donate $250 each to The Marines Toys for Tots and Christian Ministry. Many thanks to Dannie and Geraldine for the good weather and great time! FCA Regionals We have several Falcon Regionals set up for the New Year. Our sister chapters are hoping to see our smiling faces at their shows. All these chapters have supported us with our Regional in Kannapolis. Let s all show our support to them. It s fun to attend a Regional without having to work at running it. March is a good time to head to Florida for warmer weather. What better place to go than Pensacola for a Falcon Regional. The Bluegrass Chapter will hold another Regional in Louisville, KY in May. They have found a new host Hotel and will tour the Ford Explorer and Escape Plant. They are celebrating 100 years manufacturing Fords in Kentucky. The Mason Dixon Regional will be in Edgemont, MD (the Baltimore area) close to the Orioles Ballpark and the Proven Grounds in September. Just in time for the Fall Leaves in October, The Tennessee Valley is having their show near the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, Cades Cove, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. We have included registration information for these Regionals. Plan a trip with your Falcon to visit other areas of our country. Learn to know other Falcon Lovers. Let them tell you about places to visit in their neck of the woods.
