OREGON APPALOOSA BREEDERS ASSOCIATION 2017 ANNUAL SHOW AWARD RULES CATEGORY A APPALOOSAS IN OPEN SHOWS Registered Appaloosa Horses with the ApHC Only, Do not have to be an ApHC member) Any Open show in Oregon, or any open show outside Oregon when the owner/lessee is an OApBA Member and Shows a Registered Appaloosa 1. To be eligible for any of the following awards, all rules will apply. If points go toward the horse you pay $20.00. If points go toward handler, rider, youth, showmanship, etc. you pay $20.00, if another person is showing the same horse, then that person pays $20.00 ( one horse/one rider, except for Halter and Leadline). NON REGISTERED APPALOOSA'S ENTER CATEGORY C. 2. Membership dues and nomination fee must be paid. Any points accumulated before membership dues and nomination fee are paid will not be counted. The horse owner/lessee must be a member of the OApBA, eligible for show registration is not necessary. Copy of ApHC papers must be submitted with nomination. 3. HORSE, HANDLER, RIDER, must compete under three (3) judges in each category they are turning in points for to be eligible for awards. Example: If competing for halter classes, (Category A), you must show under three judges in that category. If competing in English performance, (Category A), you must show under three judges in English in that category. Points go to each horse, except in youth and adult equitation and showmanship, then the points go to the handler/rider. Even if you do not place, turn in a point sheet signed by the show secretary or person in charge of show to be counted toward the minimum of three shows. All participates will receive a participation point. No credit given for disqualification. 4. Each award year begins on January 1st and ends November 30th.. 5. Original point sheets signed by show secretary must be submitted to the point secretary within 30 days of each show, (no copies allowed). For the last show of the season, point sheets must be postmarked no later than 5 days after November 30th for the points to be counted. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE 6. Points are to be kept on OApBA point sheets. They are the responsibility of the exhibitor for correctness of classes and placing. Point sheets must be filled out clearly and correctly for points to count. A copy of the show premium must be attached to the point sheet. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. 7. Points sheets must be verified and signed by the show secretary at each show. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE 8. Copying of additional point sheets needed, will be the responsibility of the owner or exhibitor. 9. Exhibitor/Owner has 30 days after points are posted in newsletter to contest the points. Points may be corrected after 30 days if error found by points secretary. NO EXCEPTIONS TO RULE 10. If a stallion or colt is gelded during the show season, the point secretary must be notified in writing prior to the next show for the points to count. Points accumulated prior to gelding will not be transferred, but will count toward an award in the stallion or colt category. Points accumulated after gelding will apply toward the gelding category. 11. No "limited show" points will count for yearend awards, such as not open to the public, or Members Only shows, World and National Shows. Shows must offer equal number of classes to all breeds/types and be open to all breeds/types.

To be eligible for any of the following awards, all rules will apply. A $20.00 annual nomination fee per horse per handler is required ( one horse, one rider combination equitation only ). If points go toward horse you pay $20.00, if points go toward handler, youth, non-pro, showmanship, etc. showing the same horse the handler pays $20.00. 2. Horses must be registered as Ore-bred with OApBA before showing, membership dues and nomination fee must be paid. Any points accumulated before membership dues and nomination fee are paid will not be counted. An Ore-bred horse is defined as one who is born in Oregon. The horse owner/lessee must be a member of the OApBA, ApHC and the horse registered with the ApHC in Moscow, Idaho with eligible for show registration papers. Copy of current registration papers must be turned in at the time of nominating horse or handler ( both sides of registration papers ). 3. HORSE, HANDLER, RIDER, all ApHC approved shows count toward points ( no minimum of shows ). Points go to each horse, except in youth and Non-pro, then points go to the handler/rider. Even if you do not place, turn in a point sheet signed by the show secretary to be counted towards the participation points. No credit given for disqualification. 4. Anyone competing for Non-pro or Youth, must submit your Non-pro or Youth number to the show secretary. 5. Each award year begins on January 1st and ends November 30th. 6. Original point sheets must be submitted to the point secretary within 30 days of each show.
